Last week I overheard two coworkers (blue-collar field) talking about how terrible it is that the US has been sending billions of dollars in cash to Ukraine since it's an utterly hopeless war and how much better it will be when Trump wins and puts a stop to that waste of money and just lets Russia win the war and conquer Ukraine again, since it was basically just Russia anyway. They then proceeded to agree that Putin is obviously terrified of Trump winning the election because Trump is too manly and tough to let Russia just do whatever it wants to other countries. No cognitive dissonance whatsoever. Neither of them even realized the contradiction as far as I could tell. At least the guy I was training at the time called them idiots when we were done with our task.
