A key note is that Democrats are hitting the Hitler stuff really, really hard. All of Donnie's people, and Donnie himself, are all denying he said it, with a few exceptions of weasels claiming "this is already baked into Voters' minds".

That basically means that according to standard operating procedures, by Saturday there will either be confirmation from others, a statement on tape, or Hitler will suddenly be publicly awesome. And there are a whole lot of reporters calling a whole lot of people to prod that along. Donnie's lost contain on this one and can't do anything about it.

It's still wild to me that the dude's former Chief of Staff called him out as a fascist authoritarian and they apparently think there's something more damaging waiting in the wings.

Dubya needs to get off his paint-stained rear end and denounce Trump. It might not do a lot, but anything is better than nothing. Hell, the Kaiser already wrote his speech for him:

quote:

For a few months I was inclined to believe in [MAGA]. I thought of it as a necessary fever. And I was gratified to see that there were, associated with it for a time, some of the wisest and most outstanding [Americans]. But these, one by one, he has got rid of or even killed... He has left nothing but a bunch of shirted gangsters! This man could bring home victories to our people each year, without bringing them either glory or danger. But of our [America], which was a nation of poets and musicians, of artists and soldiers, he has made a nation of hysterics and hermits, engulfed in a mob and led by a thousand liars or fanatics.

Two days ago, there was rumor mill poo poo about damaging donnie stuff from social media brokebrains. That turned out to be a weak video at a TPUSA event of donnie being creepy on a handshake with a kid, plus that Stacey Williams thing you linked.

The Bryan Lanza reference is regarding *other* new poo poo which I haven't really heard about. To some extent though, the pile of scandals is enough that the *defenders* are saying poo poo like this, which doesn't exactly make a good pro-donnie closing message:

In this case, Bezos brought in a Murdochian bozo so Bezos's cloud computing contracts have a better chance of staying alive if Donnie wins.

Ugh, a bit frustrating when a billionaire claims to care about journalism but makes themselves owners of a newspaper. Especially Bezos buying it for less than 1% of his divorce payout. If you really care then buy it, give it to the reporters, and set them up with a trust fund giving them a few million a year to ease expenses then have zero involvement. It's ridiculous to think journalists working for a plutocrat are really going to be neutral, like expecting The Coal Mine Owners Tribune to give a unionization drive fair coverage.

Yeah, it's definitely one of those things where billionaires are really, really fuckin cheap and Bezos couldn't accept losing $77m/year. So he brought in that scandal-plagued shitter to be more friendly to conservatives (lol won't work) because supposedly conservatives buy newspapers too [citation needed]. Objectively stupid nonsense from the big ol' brain of a billionaire.

WaPo about WaPo posted:

An endorsement of Harris had been drafted by Post editorial page staffers but had yet to be published, according to two sources briefed on the sequence of events who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. The decision not to publish was made by The Post’s owner — Amazon founder Jeff Bezos — according to the same sources.

“This is cowardice, a moment of darkness that will leave democracy as a casualty. Donald Trump will celebrate this as an invitation to further intimidate The Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos (and other media owners),” former Post executive editor Martin Baron, who led the paper while Trump was president, said in a text message to The Post. “History will mark a disturbing chapter of spinelessness at an institution famed for courage.”

It's Bezos/Trump. Bezos bought the Washington Post, Donnie hates news sources that publish a semblance of truth, so Donnie's never shut up about the Amazon Washington Post being corrupt or whatever. Amazon/Bezos have complained that it led to Amazon losing some DoD cloud computing contracts and it was enough to tangle the lawsuit in the courts forever until the Pentagon basically gave up.

I think Trump got his feeling hurt by Wapo reporting and vented his frustration by allegedly telling the DoD to make sure AWS didn't win the huge cloud computing contract. The contract was awarded to Microsoft and AWS sued claiming they only lost because of Trump's retaliation

The majority of them probably think that Fox News isn't "mass media" (even though they're the biggest), or they've defected from Fox News completely to Newsmax/OAN/RSBN if they think Fox News is too "mass media.". Probably a question phrasing thing.

Edit: Forgot too, Gallup has been very weird about their methodologies lately. These numbers are far enough apart that they're credible, but Gallup doesn't even poll/report the presidential race because they don't believe they can anymore.
