I know our country is full of shitheads, but I want to believe that a message solely of "gently caress this tiny minority of people, and also gently caress what all of our ancestors were at one point" won't carry someone to victory.

This is the same country where reagan got 525 electoral votes AFTER 4 years in power on that same message. The only thing that�s fundamentally changed, electorally speaking, is a higher percentage of minorities voting. Which apparently just chases whites to blood and soil rhetoric. I�m still optimistic but ready to be disappointed.

They just need the hate! Added benefit if the focus of the hate is a tiny sliver of the population, even more benefit if the people simply can't speak out due to legal stuff or whatever. Topic/ID doesn't really matter.

Yeah this kind of stuff is why I'm really confident that whatever hand they got, Kamala and her people really, really played it well. This kind of poo poo is NOT what the Donnie campaign and normie Republicans want to be talking about. Just a wide-open question if it's enough or not, or if anything could've been enough! I also wonder if anyone has bothered to map out how much drug and alcohol consumption goes up during election week, I imagine it must be a pretty significant spike.

Possibly election related because I'm sure I'm not the only person getting an obamacare renewal right now, but my monthly premium will actually go down by $20/month for 2025, and alot of my copays and deductibles are slightly decreasing as well.

I've had obamacare since the beginning, and I think this is the first time that's happened. I always dread opening that envelope-sometimes it has been like a 20% YOY increase-so it was a very pleasant surprise. Thanks Biden!
