I just recently got home from work and my thought on the ride home was "What in the blue, blazing gently caress kind of press conference did Donnie give?" Even NPR was calling it stuff like "combative", "angry", and "full of misinformation" so translating that from NPR-speak to English I figured it was a real doozy.

Now I'm home watching clips like was posted earlier and gently caress me sideways. Dude is loving cooked and pissed off. Kamala and her team apparently know exactly what buttons to push to piss off a narcissist.

To make an attack against Kamala, Donnie invented a helicopter crash / rough landing that he was in with Willie Brown, the California politician that dated Kamala.

Except he got the wrong Brown (and color) - it was Jerry Brown the former Governor.

Except there was no helicopter crash - and Gavin Newsom was on the chopper to confirm that too.

It's just clanking of misfiring parts in that brainbox. By the way, it was the same chopperflight that generated this wonderful story:

quote:

Mr. Trump’s visit to the burned forest with then-Governor Brown and Mr. Newsom did generate headlines, but not because of anything that occurred on their helicopter ride. Rather, it was because, during a news conference after landing at the scene, Mr. Trump attributed the wildfire to too many fallen, dead tree branches and said the answer to solving California’s wildfire crisis was to rake the forest floors. “It was back when we were making raking the forest great again,” Mr. Newsom said.

"We won that race as a means to an end. It's not about winning races so you can bank political capital for the next race, you win races so you can burn the hell out of that political capital to improve people's lives" is apparently what I've been waiting to hear a politician say my entire life. That's what we need.

e: "I hear your members say this-'look, I'm just not into politics.' And fair, that's their opinion, but it's my opinion to respond back to em, 'Too drat bad! Politics is into you!'" is a great line too. Dude's a great speaker.

“Tonight I declared a new Groyper War against the Trump campaign,” Fuentes wrote on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after midnight, referring to a group of far-right activists known as groypers.

Fuentes explained that he and his far-right squad of online trolls “support Trump” but that they view his 2024 campaign as being “hijacked” by lobbyists, consultants, and donors that had aided Trump’s 2016 Republican opponents. All in all, Fuentes believed they were “blowing it.”

“Without serious changes we are headed for a catastrophic loss,” Fuentes wrote.

“This is NOT a purity spiral, this is about living up to the AMERICA FIRST credo put forth by Trump in 2016 which will ensure VICTORY in 2024,” Fuentes continued. “On Monday I will present a detailed statement of the facts, a mission statement, and a plan of action on my Rumble channel. STAY TUNED.”

NYT posted:

On Thursday, Joe Rogan said he preferred Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent, for president. “He’s the only one that makes sense to me,” Mr. Rogan said, as a guest on a podcast hosted by Lex Fridman, and called Mr. Kennedy a “legitimate guy.”

Mr. Rogan’s devoted following, one that leans young, male and numbers in the tens of millions, is highly coveted. His remarks about Mr. Kennedy, uttered on a show with a far smaller reach than his own, nonetheless set off a frenzied response.

Supporters of former President Donald J. Trump, worried that Mr. Rogan’s stance could carve off voters and hurt his electoral chances come November, quickly turned on the podcaster, standup comic and former U.F.C. announcer. They questioned his intelligence and even mocked his height, a spectacle that was greeted with something akin to joy — or, at least, schadenfreude — among Democrats who have long written off Mr. Rogan as helpful to their cause.

By Friday morning, Mr. Rogan was backpedaling. “This isn’t an endorsement,” he posted on the social media platform X, and advised that he is “not the guy to get political information from.”

Mr. Trump himself weighed in on Friday afternoon, pondering “how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC ring” in a post on his social network that seemingly reflected his concerns that the influential podcaster could tip the scales against him.

“This takes straight from the Trump base,” said Mike Madrid, a Republican political consultant. A New York Times/Siena poll in battleground states in May found that 54 percent of respondents who said they planned to vote for the former president had a favorable opinion of Mr. Rogan.

Mr. Kennedy, long before Mr. Rogan’s unwinding act, had already taken credit for the perceived nod, posting on social media: “From one ‘legitimate’ guy to another, thank you.”
