the latest grift is lovely property managers constantly changing the third party companies that run the card machines in the laundry room. every time you lose all the money you had on any existing laundry card, and the new one works worse and costs more. its a god damned racket

the last apartment I lived in where I had communal washer/dryers we had a guy who worked in the fish processing plant living there and basically i just went to the laundromat a few blocks away for the year or so he lived there.

i became a pro at repairing my washing machine because it was giving an error code and none of the suggested solutions seemed to fix it (it wouldn’t fully drain after a wash cycle). checked the lint trap, drain pump, pressure sensors, water valve solenoids. nothing fixed it. eventually found somebody selling the the same model on fb marketplace with a different error code, hauled it home and cannibalized it for parts. replaced the control board and the problem went away. god damned computers
