Yeah, Michael was driven by his need to be liked and respected and he latched onto any random thing he thought would do it. So yeah, I can absolutely see an opening where he walks into the office and tells Pam or Jim about this new Q thing before Dwight corrects him on what he misunderstood.

Yeah, Green Arrow and the Canaries finally got a decision passed down and it was a no. Have not heard anything about The 100 spin-off. Something new for this fall's schedule on the CW is that they're going to start putting original programming on Saturday nights as well. Although they haven't announced what yet is going to be on there.

Honestly, good.

MGM has a lot of good properties that have utterly failed to get proper attention and availability through good releases and streaming due to their strapped resources.

Them and Paramount.

I've actually not bought Paramount titles because of that bullshit. I've not bough tdigital movies on sale, even if they've been like $5. I've not bought physical discs because their digital copies will be tied to a single retailer. You are actively discouraging me from buying your stuff but I doubt you care because you would rather I just subscribe to Paramount+ instead.

The upcoming Indiana Jones release is one I will make an exception for, but I don't feel good about it.

They are all licensed differently so they simply don't have access to them the majority of the time.

I wish HBO Max would have 4k versions of all the stuff they have 4k versions of instead of just new releases. There's no reason for them not to other than not wanting to take something "special" away from the theater releases they have on there.

WW84 is the first theater release that's made it BACK to the service after the month window expired and surprisingly it's still Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. I was worried they were going to nerf that stuff back to HD as well when it made a return to the service (not that I'm planning on watching that movie again, but other stuff.)

There are dozens of movies in their current catalog and at least 4 different shows that have UHD versions and they are just HD.

It's not 4k. It's also region B.

I'm pretty much only buying physical catalog titles on 4k nowadays. Flash Gordon was amazing, They Live and Temors are also really good remastered.

I feel like Michael would have been a Trump supporter because he would see Trump as a super-successful businessman combined with TV star, which is like Michael's ideal. Only Michael would then proposed his own version of The Apprentice where he would hire people instead of fire them.

I feel like the best option for a Stargate should would be to make it a period drama in the 30s/40s with them trying to figure out how to make the Stargate work. Draw in bits of dieselpunk, Indiana Jones, early UFO investigations to see how they tie into this ancient alien artifact, etc.

What’ll probably happen with SG is that it’s 20 years later and the Stargate program was mothballed after what happened to Destiny. Something happens and Samantha Carter is brought out of retirement to figure out why the Stargate is acting up again. It’s a mix of bringing in new viewers and old.

I just finished S4 E7/8 ("Money"), where they were actually nice to Dwight and supported him after his B&B got negative reviews while Andy was simultaneously going out of his way to make him feel horrible about Angela so I haven't gotten there yet.

Playing Blu-ray discs in their non-native region is trivially simple these days.

And that's a disc from a 4K that was struck from the original negative not terribly long ago, it was then merely downsampled to 1080p to meet the Blu-ray spec. It's the best the movie has looked in years.

It really isn't. Not when you want to watch it in your main viewing area without any extra equipment.

Also, I get that it was struck from a 4k master. I don't care. I want it on 4k with an HDR pass and REC2020 color, not a downsampled 1080p SDR copy at REC709. I'm not buying 1080p movies anymore.

But earth has a bunch of giant capital spaceships, all of the asgard's knowledge, and an alien city full of ludicrously advanced technology just floating in the San Francisco Bay. I just don't see how earth would collectively take a step back like that.

Dwight would scoff at "Q", then say he's all about "P", who is just Jim messing with Dwight.

Later, it would be revealed that "Q" was just the insane ramblings of Creed.

Stargate went from possibly being a forever franchise to just disappearing in the course of three years.

Stargate Destiny was a completely different type of show they just added stargates to. Like even the people who liked Stargate and/or BSG would probably watch that show and not like it. Season 2 was a massive improvement but the damage had been done.

It was also a wildly underutilized IP, as the plan to relaunch it was as a webisode set in the 1930s exclusive to the MGM streaming app.

I think its probably something that Snyder thought would be cute, to draw the direct metaphor to real politics and put the real faces there arguing the analogs. And he didn't really consider questions like "should I be giving this guy and what he represents a job and some more celebrity regardless of context?" Or he did and he decided it was fine. And some people disagree and its become probably a bigger thing than he thought it would.
