Glad I accidentally waited to watch Mythic quest until after all this *checks notes, sorts scandal column by most recent* Blizzard poo poo came out, because it certainly adds some spicy context to episode four.

I finished the new version of The Stand, and it was... okay. Not great, but not terrible. I think along with the first episodes obviously being cut to hell to take out as much of the pandemic as possible and make things go non-chronologically, the big problem was the acting was so bland. When Jamey Sheridan in a 90s mullet makes a better Randall Flagg, then it's a problem. I will give credit to Nat Wolff as Lloyd and Fiona Dourif as the Rat Woman. Their scenes together in the last few episodes were great. Katherine McNamara as Julia at least had energy and a personality. And Ezra Miller was definitely doing... something with Trashcan Man. I was missing him the first half the show but honestly not sure having him as a lead would have benefited.

Makes me want to check out Mike White's previous HBO show Enlightened.

I'd post in a White Lotus thread about how Paula is the absolute worst and hosed that poor dude's life to pieces just to hurt an (admittedly lovely) family.

People were talking about Evil in this thread and I saw it on Netflix, so I decided to check it out. It's pretty neat, but the one thing I can't get past is that the Townshend guy broke into her therapist's office, they have evidence that he was there, he admits in court that he has the therapy notes, but no one does anything about it.

There's a lot more of them than in the 90s version and while they're not necessarily great they're kind of fun. The Vegas ending is also still very silly but a little less so. Except from Trashcan Man. I loving hated Ezra Miller's Trashcan Man. The whole thing was fine and it definitely does some stuff well the 90s version didn't. But considering its nearly twice as long and cut out huge portions of the first half of the story it really didn't feel like it added more than it cut. The villains all get a bump but all the heroes lose a ton and it doesn't really balance out.

Just started The White Lotus. Steve Zahn hanging dong, and the head concierge dude giving some creepy vibes already.

I like the fact that all 3 of us who mentioned the Zahn scene specifically said ‘hang dong’. God bless Always Sunny.

It's only appropriate that in this hell year that CBS has given noted fraud Dr Phil a new series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EQj-KQCI_0 I really don't want to know, but what the hell was the process on this?

You sure that wasn't last weeks ep with the rear end eating? Man this show is good. The soundtrack makes me feel sick. And holy poo poo, despite being a god awful character, I still find Connie Britton insanely attractive.

Nobody watches "Miracle Workers"? It's the okay comedy show with Buscemi and Radcliffe. I feel like the semi naked dance Daniel did on the latest episode will see a lot of gif usage among certain HP fans.

A bunch of us have been watching Miracle Workers since day one. I'm enjoying this season more than last season.

Haven't seen any posts about it, not that I looked very hard at all. This season they are doing more Buscemi + Radcliffe, and not just Radcliffe with the woman.

Season 3 was really amazing and did some great concept episodes. There was one where the first half of the episode was "previously on" chunks. It was an ingenious concept because it setup a way more complicated plot than could have flowed organically in the time allotted. The last 8 minutes were the actual episode to wrap it up.

It's a better show now it's on Peacock. A shame its run order got trimmed due to covid (and we're lucky we got the last 3 episodes because they were racing the clock as the shut down mandate happened while they were working on them), so expecting a great 4th season now.

I loved the first two seasons but never saw S3. I might have to subscribe to Peacock when S4 is all out. But man, those kids ain't looking very much like kids anymore.
|
![]() |

I mean, a few of them weren't kids from the start. Nick Peine was 28 when the show started. Allisyn Snyder was 22. Aparna Brielle was 24.
|
![]() |
|
For sure but its been a few years since I've seen them and Peine and Brielle in particular look like they should be playing teachers.

If you haven't seen AP Bio yet, its probably the best sitcom that veers outside the standard since Community. There are some amazing episodes, and if you like that guest star, there are plenty of others you will like too. Give it a shot, you won't regret it.
