Either way lol

Cowboy Bebop had the problem where it started filming and John Cho got seriously injured and it was delayed. Which probably didn't help its chances.

I think at this point or at least within a few more years they should ditch Wright, recast Black Panther as a different actor and character, and just have a portrait or shrine to T'Challa up in the main hall and a dedication to Boseman in the credits. Then work hard not to gently caress it up. There's more benefit (to the fans and Marvel/Disney) in having the superhero active than in retiring the franchise in the actor's honor. Hell, do a Disney+ series where a few different people of all ages and genders play the role for shorter stories.

But maybe I'm wrong, I'm just a nerd who watches too many of these dumb shows and has had more than enough representation my whole life.

At some point they'll reboot the entire deal in a big multi-movie finale. The comics do one of those universal canon resets like every other summer and there are a few classic retcons they could mine for MCU metaplots. And who knows how long we have left till Disney owns DC, maybe just in time for a big MCUDCU rebbotmerge Superfriendsvengers movie.

Yeah, I've never seen anything like that and really wanted to see more, especially if it continued to drive such strong reactions to it.

I highly doubt the show was cancelled due to "lovely nerds" as opposed to being an expensive flop that would not make Netflix money if they made another one.

I got through the opening scene in the casino and decided I wasn't going to continue with it, so I don't have any experience with Ed in the show. The stills I saw made it look like she had the same posture as Vir from Babylon 5

Yup, he had the audacity to be over 30 and put weight on his knee resulting in an exploded knee. Sucks, but its like the same type of injury you see athletes get by jumping in the air clebrating after a big play and just coming down wrong.

While the Ed scene was god awful, I actually really liked the adaptation. I liked the minor changes, and I liked the big ones like with the Julia twist. It felt a lot more fertile to me. I liked the actors and their chemistry, and I really liked the episode where Faye and Spike bond over shower, bath, shower, and their biggest bounties. I do think if it went ahead they would have made some big changes to the whole Ed character so I am sad I don't get to see more, but did really enjoy what I saw.

I've been watching it too, and I keep getting distracted by... it's either the lighting or the way scenes are blocked, but either way once I noticed it I couldn't un-notice it, and it's made the show feel surprisingly artificial. Everyone just sort of comes into scenes, hits their marks, and remains completely static the entire time.

It's not like the show is overly cheap, but it feels like a step down from what I would expect of HBO or HBO Now. Not bad, just odd.

Edit: I'm watching another episode and now I'm not seeing it? Maybe it was just a problem with a specific director, or a few episodes having to rush scenes out because of crunch? I dunno. Have you, or anyone else who's seen, had this reaction at all? Or is it just me being weird?

To clarify it’s being done in collaboration with Deck Nine, who just did the acclaimed Life Is Strange: True Colors. Not sure what the development dynamic is between the two. Maybe deck nine developing and telltale publishing?

That's probably right. I'm not sure if Telltale even has many developers right now. When the new company bought the Telltale name they only offered to hire back some of the staff as part timers.

That Ed clip was honestly as bad as anything I've ever seen on TV and it's worth cancelling the show to prevent that character/performance from seeing another minute.

I don't know that Netflix has ever cancelled something this fast so their metrics must've been insanely bad and hopefully this will sour them on the live action anime stuff because IT'S NEVER WORKED NOT EVEN ONE TIME. There are more good movies based on video games than there are good live action animes.
