I could never figure out the issue but I'd check launch options and see if you can boot in windowed mode or something.

Seems like a widespread issue with no answers for like a year. It just started a week ago for me randomly. Even did a reinstall on a different drive. I followed a reddit guide and tweaked a bunch of settings so I get a pretty stable 120 FPS now and I'm hitting a lot more shots, so it's a lot more fun now. I don't mind getting outplayed or outshot (I deffo suck at strategy) but it was really frustrating just not being able to hit any shots haha. I think part of it too is that I think I'm getting sorted into the noob realm now that I'm not playing with my buddy, but I'm definitely hitting shots that I would have whiffed before so I'm interested to see how it goes if I team up with my buddy again.

It always felt bad how little you could upgrade it and all the attachments you left behind, it's going to be incredibly good as either your primary gun or something to open with > almost overheat > unload R99 in 1 second > swap back to L-star.

Bloodhound on the loading screen, historically that would mean BH is getting a town takeover mid-season, but last season Crypto was there and didn't get anything so  It's pre-compiling all the shaders on load now, did they switch to DX12?

Seems like a pretty wide-spread issue unfortunately. I'm seeing recommendations to cancel the download, turn off automatic updates, and then repair Apex via the Origin program window. That seems like a huge hassle...

Downloading the update atm. I had my best season yet, 25 wins - slightly more than a quarter of my lifetime wins. I hit 100 in the Battlepass all of a sudden yesterday, the last time I'd paid attention was when it passed 69 and was kicking myself for still playing (luckily I do have a 69 from like S5)*. Anyway, decided to buy my first Battlepass ever to get the coins for this season's one. Good game, I like a 30-30 and a RE-45. *My main goal, as a not very good player and a manchild, is just to get 4 - 2 - 0 win trackers for each legend.

Just played a couple quick Ranked Arenas rounds over lunch with pubbies. Got stomped in the first match where I was the only to get a kill in 3 rounds. Lost the second in the sudden death round, and it was an entertaining match. The Rampage/Prowler combo in later rounds might be a good one for me, and I really liked the Prowler early. Feels pretty underpriced at $400.

There are more character skins than usual, I assume that was part of their value calculations. I think the weapon skins are a little better than normal, and the weapon charm designs are great. Oh, and the lvl 100 skin is S-tier too. But I did notice the low number of emotes, that is pretty disappointing

Tried to get a solid game in but good lord I don't know what misdeed I did but I've been cursed with party after party of utter dregs. Solo droppers screaming down their garbage mics that you won't sprint the length of the map to pick them up, loot hoovers doing multiple laps of the same tiny low quality POI's and dying to the first shot fired vaguely near them, people who don't seem to have encountered what a video game is before despite their high account level. Good lord. Rampage seems cool but I haven't gotten the chance to activate its boost charge mode, feels weird to use after the Spitfire's steady ROI, like a Devotion that doesn't ramp up. New Hemlock hop-up is... weird. I didn't really notice any difference in damage and reload speed after hitting the right timing. Hemlock in general also feels... weaker? Like something's changed and it wasn't documented. Seer's heartbeat detector passive is really cool and it's fun you can activate it without a gun out.

The new Hemlok/Wingman hop-up increases reload speed and adds extra rounds to the next mag if you reload it while it low but not empty, it doesn't actually add any damage to each bullet. edit: also Seer seems really good. Evil Kit fucked around with this message at 21:32 on Aug 3, 2021 |

We all focused on Seer's Tactical and Ult but his Passive is something else. They probably need to drop it to 50m at least because holy crap! I know where the entire enemy squad is for the price of a 2 second ADS. The health bar display is also boss as hell in a big furball. This guy is just TOO drat good and honestly makes poor Crypto seem like a chump and a half.

They could probably take out the heartbeat sensor and he would be pretty good, but you factor in the 0 cooldown 0 alert 75m scan in a circle and it makes bloodhound ult look pretty tame, that and being able to do 10 damage and see enemy healthbars with his 75m Q blast is pretty strong.

He's got so many synergies it's crazy. Throw down your Ult but the enemy is hiding somewhere in the bubble, refusing to move? Find them with the Heartbeat Sensor and then line up your Tactical with it, giving them a literal no-win situation. His kit is even more synergistic than Wraith and that's the gold standard IMO. edit: also good luck ratting in Ranked after your pubbie teammates drop and die, lol. Thoughts after about 3 hours: Seer seems super cool and is a nice contrast to Bloodhound. BH is all about pure aggression and acting on the intel you can get right there and then whereas Seer lets you take your time and really flattens people who are trying to swarm you, it's very neat. He relays a lot of information that would otherwise need to be vocalised which is helpful. I'm trying to think what Cryptos advantages are over this dude and other than his EMP I'm drawing a blank, sure you can get constant intel from his drone but you have to drop everything whereas Seer has full mobility. Also his ult drops you from ziplines which really hosed me up when it happened Rampage LMG kicks so much rear end and I think it's in line to get its recoil buffed because it's absurdly easy to handle. Sure the fire rate is slow but hipfire accuracy is incredible in both modes and it basically does not require any thought at all to handle in ADS. As someone who's pretty much mained a Spitfire since day 1 I thought I was gonna be left yearning for it to return but man the Rampage has proven itself time and again to be incredibly reliable. It's effectively a giant Alternator that can be made to rip people apart. I don't necessarily think it's overpowered but I do think it's way too easy to control for an LMG. Worlds End Changes seem cool and good, a lot of it seems to have been in the interests of taking these big wide open arenas and making them into a bunch of smaller ones with more verticality and I think that's a good move. It's really funny how Trainyard has very intentionally been made as boring as it can possibly be, they really don't want people to land there and as a result you get a better spread of players going to the new areas, which feels much nicer. I think the only downside is that the new areas can feel a little samey with their identical buildings and lava pitfalls, but I'll take it for the sheer volume of new options they give rather than being Here Is A Giant Corridor Have Fun. Battlepass is cool, I love bugs so a lot of the skins are right up my alley. The free track actually has some of the nicest skins in the BP which is funny, but the gun charms are delightful and I'd feel good about using most of them which is more than I can say for some of the other seasons. Lack of skydive emotes really sucks a fat one especially after they spent the last Every Single Battlepass Ever sleeping on a bunch of characters and giving all the cool poo poo to Wraith, it's like the artists and animators threw a hissy fit when they were told they couldn't give her anything cool for this one. Please stop making things gold themed Respawn, it lost its lustre ages ago Prowler coming back feels like an old friend returning but gently caress do I miss select fire. Boosted Loader is very confusing to me, I don't understand why the Wingman needs 10 bullets (or 11 if you don't want another active reload) and the Hemlok has more problems than reload speed and magazine size. In fact, magazine size was never an issue to begin with imo. I have no idea what the P2020's role is anymore, they need to find a way to make Hammerpoints viable again. With Disruptor rounds back in it can't be in this season but they need to figure out a good niche for this gun after they made the Mozambique viable. If you could instantly swap to it then it'd at least make a good panic weapon but as it stands you still have to wait way too long to bring it out when everything else is available. LSTAR changes are great, especially the projectile size, but the barrel mods look dumb and now the gun has a big nose and I want to honk it Songbearer fucked around with this message at 00:51 on Aug 4, 2021 |
