Had a win tonight that was absolutely embarrassing, cleaned up two of the last squads back to back, then all three of us got knocked down by the lone remaining lifeline, who then died from the ring before they could get to safety. Had gibby not had a gold shield we would have lost. Shameful.

Really been enjoying this season and Fuse after mostly ignoring last season. Been having consistent weird specific issues though that are driving me loving crazy. First is that every one out of a dozen or so fights I don't see shield damage and everything just registers as health hits. I'll whack someone for a solid "health" hit and then get hyper aggro only to do well over 100+ more health damage and not have them go down. My assumption is that the numbers are all legit and, again, it's just not showing up as shields but it may not be. Either way it's a good way to gently caress up and make incredibly stupid and inappropriate pushes once in a while. Other is that I've been seeing a lot of jank and weirdness with vaulting. It feels like they did something really slight to climbing, and I pretty frequently hesitate and chunk up on vaults over low obstacles which makes you a nice bumbling easy target. The other half of that is that sometimes I'll cling to wall or start climbing a surface that's way off to my side without a push or jump in that direction. My regular squad mates think I'm insane cause they aren't seeing a bit of this but something just aint right with the flow of things at present.

ive definitely had a number of fights this sesson where i shouldve been lasered down- i saw then shoot at me and heard the bullets hit me - but i took 0 damage. very nice for me

Even though the Volt got a tiny nerf this season its still extremely good. I was able to get 12 kills with it in 2 games just due to its ability to laser people in close range. Volt and flatline is definitely my preferred loadout rn.

It took the 30-30 being released to make me realize that I actually really loving like the wingman. I had a weird arc where I realized that the repeater was a more spammable version of the longbow which I preferred after testing it and that led into the revelation that the wingman is a more consistent repeater with lower peaks, but better handling and it can take a digital threat sight and a skullpiercer. The lack of a decent long range sight isn't even a huge issue since that only really matters at ranges where you can't effectively capitalize on the damage. I've been playing a ton of bangalore this season and I'm head over heels in love with the combo of smoke grenades and a digital threat wingman. Just launch a smoke on the enemy's position and plink away with impunity.

The best part of the wingman is being able to spam it at roughly where they'll be peaking and if you get a lucky headshot you're basically getting a shitton of value for almost no risk.

I fully expect LL to reach the circle and turn around and gun us down. Those last zones are a doozy I guess

Bang's ults also come up so fast, it's incredible. I only played her minimally until this season, now I think she's probably my most played for the season.

This season is my first time actually playing Olympus and I think it might be my favorite map. It really rewards my quiet drop rotation focused playstyle and you can see third parties coming from about a mile away. My skills had really atrophied over my long break, but after a few days of playing to shake off the rust I'm back in it. It's rough trying to play when you aren't comfortable in a hectic fight.

nearly going to slip back down into gold IV since the servers suck so much i keep rubberbanding everywhere and my shots just don't register lol; really not vibing with this season so far, the past week of playing has just been not fun for me, not sure what it is in particular, hope it gets better 😞

Playing around with the fuse ult in the firing range, I noticed that the little flaming pellets bounce off of vertical surfaces and get out of their ring pattern. If you shoot it at a terraced mountainside you can get something of a double curtain that will probably cover most of spots where people can stand.

Purely anecdotal evidence, but: -I often see Japanese streamers in the Apex category on Twitch, at least as far back as Season 2. -I saw videos of big outdoor advertisements from a Japanese Twitter account back when Season 7 launched. I play on Japanese servers a lot because Aussie servers thin out on ranked, and they are some of the most unfailingly decent people online. They rarely use the mic (and when they do it's just polite stuff, I've never heard a Japanese player flip out), jumpmaster always lands wherever I suggest, and I regularly see people pinging purple shields for me or the other dude to take even though we're all on white or blue.
