it's okay Respawn, we know you're going to just replace Arenas with Control. No need to string them along. jokes aside, with the leaver penalty in Control now and people having had time to play the mode there are more and more folks realizing that actually, back capping is how you win. That and getting the capture bonuses when they pop up. Also if one team pulls ahead it generally easier to pull it back than you'd think. Really enjoy the mode, but it's def better to do one or two in between BR games to break it up.

yeah, the OP of the thread should have the link to the goon Apex discord. Pretty regular groups going, more on the weekends but you usually have one or two in the evenings on weekdays too.

Thinking about those Lifeline games where I just ferry banners back to beacons for 20 minutes dodging through boulders and trenches and give revives on the battlefield. Lifeline is more of a defensive class, but fun.

Grinding out the last few Control challenges before the mode expires in a few hours. Feels about right - everybody has discovered the meta. Experimenting with an Offensive style of Loba - I want to be able to play her like Valkyrie when you just drop in and unload on folks. It's pretty white knuckle, and has potential. Any game where you can clown on your opponents in a firefight is a good one.

The bow has replaced all other long range weapons for me. I'll use a longbow or a triple take if I find a gold mag or something, but if everything else is even the bow just feels too good to pass up.

The Charge Rifle is ostensibly the easiest sniper to pick up when you're new but the hardest to master, especially vs moving targets. It's also the worst for sniper duels and the best at shooting someone one-sidedly from long ranges due to the big burst of damage coming after a 1.25 second charge time and being the only hitscan weapon in the game. Usually in sniper duels you want to be peeking rather than standing out in the open, so the Charge Rifle really becomes a handicap in that respect with the charge up time. That said use what you like, I'm personally a big Sentinel fan but it's hard to argue that the Longbow is the best sniper all around.

I am no good terribly bad at sniping but I have fun running a Sentinel / Shotgun combo because you don't need to carry five stacks of ammo and instead can carry five stacks of shield cells and run around constantly charged for BIG NUMBER when you hit.

The hemlok is great for both poking and hipfiring on people. I would have never gotten good with the Hemlok had the Flatline never gone into the replicator
