I'll also toss in that Ash's deathbox passive covers the whole map. No not the whole minimap, the entire map. You can land on one side of the map and still see deaths on the opposite side, it's honestly the most busted thing about her.

Her deathbox passive is a ton of information. Tells you a vague sense of where teams are, and you can definitively tell when a team wipes when 3 deathboxes simultaneously appear on the map. Or, perhaps you are approaching a battle, but you start counting deathboxes on the map-... 1, 2, 3, 4... 5... no more shooting noises... Someone might be down to 1 man and they are about to pull a res. Also, when you get an indicator to scan a deathbox, if it's just a skull, then the team is dead and there's no reason to scan. Conversely, if there is a knife icon on the deathbox, it immediately tells you that somewhere, someone is still alive. If your big multi-team fight just ended, and you see the knife symbol on a deathbox- someone is still alive. Scan it to find out if they are still here or have fled the area. Her tactical is groovy but it's probably the least exciting thing about her imo. Her ult can be used offensively or defensively.

her fidget spinner is really good for checking for rats behind corners and objects, and can block off a choke if somebody is chasing you. it's something that'll always be useful

Maybe they could put some more effort into original maps instead of slicing off a portion of their battle royale layouts that aren't designed for side vs side teamfights in mind. Or just use more perfectly symmetrical areas like Artillery for a capture the flag situation or do some "each team has 500 points and loses 1 point per death, first to 0 loses"

Funnily enough I thought it was the best control map yet, I had more fun on it than any control map yet. Though I may have gotten the side that has better access to B. I kinda wish they'd do an experiment with a zone mode on the arenas map. Only issue is I don't know if they can have non-multiple of 3 players, because 4 or 5 seems like the sweet spot on those maps.

My suspicions that something was wrong with the HDR in the Series X version seem to have been confirmed, because the update earlier today fixed it. They only said “various next-gen console fixes” but it’s much closer to the Auto HDR in the Xbox One version now.

The short week or two King's Canyon After Dark was put in the regular, casual map rotation for short 30 minute slots I was busy having fun, but the Apex community collectively threw a fit and cried "bohoo I can't see anything this is literally unplayable" until Respawn removed it again. They still didn’t manage to kill me before the game randomly launched me out of the tree completely horizontal and sent me halfway across the map. Game is good.

They didn’t mention it in the news post, but I saw a dev say that Flashpoint will be using the Always Be Closing ring this time. Also: they showed Oasis as a flashpoint, so I wonder if the aura is a sphere that projects into the basement or if it’s only a dome. It was kind of lame that that area wasn’t accessible when it was a Arena’s map, even if it’s super obvious why that would have been a bad idea.

And we're usually plating together on the apex one... Alone. Were talking to each other and the question that gets brought up is why bother going to the goon apex discord if nobody is even there? The apex discord is either dead, or everyone's done what I think they have done, and gone to other discords.... Can we please find a way to get everyone to come back? Consolidate all the goons in a single place?

IIRC it isn't so much there are too many goons for one club, it's that clubs are fuckin horrible in this game. I should get into the Discord more but I'm playing a lot of, like, 2-3 game sessions. I hate to ping people, have them go through the trouble of loading in, then leave after 30 minutes.

I think a big part of it is schedule. I wanted to play yesterday but I only have about 2-3 hours when I can and no one pinged when I actually had time to play. They were pinging too early and then again too late to fit my gaming time. Also you'll often see several people playing if you look at their activity but they're playing with irl friends. The discord is def less active this season than it has been though.
