i disagree with literally every single one of these balance choices? terrible, just terrible. the PK gets even more ridiculous the wingman isn't touched and mid-tier guns which needed no attention or maybe even slight buffs like the devotion, a gun which in my opinion needed no tweaking at all, got eight nerfs? wtf

When going out of bounds the following will be disabled:
Legends Abilities
Weapons, Ordinances and Survival Items
Healing items (Will not cancel mid healing)
All Active Passives (e.g. Valks Jet Packs)

I can't wait to use valk's ult and have it randomly deactivate on launch because you fly through a out of bounds zone for 2 seconds.

Rampart's amped cover on setup has gained 119 more HP since the launch version and means you can't even destroy it with slower snipers before it sets up and late game you might not have the ammo to spare to constantly destroy her walls.

My guess is it just stops you from activating or continuing to activate abilities (jetpack) and won't do anything to abilities you fired off earlier that are just running their course.

Not to mention the Kraber being so strong is what made it so fun. Why are they trying to make the game less fun? But is the volt still going to be in the care package or switched to ground loot? The kraber stuff is probably due to pro feedback, but they basically wanted it removed from the game altogether in tourneys like gold knockdown already is.

It's a super dumb change imo, making it basically worse than a sentinel. If they wanted to make kraber survivable I think needing purple hat + red armor would be sufficient.

Due to the way scoring works in Apex they removed it because the most common use case was a team losing a fight while having a knockdown, then the winners getting thirded and losing all the kp and placement points.

Just like the assist/3p changes in upcoming ranked

I can kinda understand why gold knockdown would be banned when placement matters so much and having a whole team survive a extra few placements because their guy crawled into a ditch with a gold knockdown while the chaos happened around them.

But if they hated the kraber so much in tournaments they could just... also remove it from tournaments?

There is no reason to pick it up unless it can 1 shot headshot, if you hear a kraber it should put the fear of god into ya.

Dang they did make SOME of the changes I was hoping for in ranked, but it seems to still "nerf" the ability of players to move up in the ranks. All I wanted was that sweet sweet diamond dive trail, but alas.


I like that they uncapped RP per kills that absolutely makes sense. If someone is running the table in a lobby then they should get as much RP as they can so they can get into one that is competitive, thats cool and good.

What is LESS cool and good is that they severely nerfed the RP for getting into the upper half of a game. I think they should keep the high rewards for kills but boost up the RP gain for kills across the board. Its less fun to absolutely demolish a few teams and then get killed with 6 kills....and oh, you died too soon, ranked 15th, you get 6 RP while the rat folk who avoided all fights by default get 5 RP for being ranked 14th cuz your squad died first. They should really discourage ratting if they want to really push the engagements up. I would even go so far as to say you shouldn't get any significantly positive RP unless you do a threshold of damage (say 300 - 500) or team kills, only refunding your RP entry cost for getting in the top half. That would lessen the sting for getting knocked out while also rewarding those who do engagements. It just rubs me wrong that folks who intentionally avoid fights can come out ahead higher than someone who dishes out the damage when engaged.

Also did I read that right, you get credit as a team for all kills? Cuz if so thats AWESOME. Not all contributions to a fight require doing direct damage, sometimes just being a meat shield/bait is just as important as hitting some shots. This also alleviates some of my earlier complaints about downing someone, then a team mate finishes them off if YOU get downed, and you get nothing, despite being the reason they were able to be finished off. A very positive change with the assist rules and team rules for RP.

The wingman did technically get nerfed this patch against non-fortified legends, it depends a lot on headshots and now everyone gets the extra 15% protection against headshots with a purple helmet.

Jesus christ these patch notes are loving dire, who in Respawn just absolutely hated on LMGs? Nthing not seeing the point of a Kraber anymore and gently caress the pro scene if the nerf was due to them. Overall this update feels very anti-sniper and anti-LMG. Everyone becomes more bullet spongy where you would WANT to use something like an LMG to deal in the damage to put someone down, but now it feels very much like an SMG problem of running out of ammo during a duos or trios fight before being able to knock down a single person. Also what the loving gently caress how can they not nerf the loving Wingman already? Is it just that important to use high skill streamer poo poo? Make that gun iron sight only or something goddamn.

I like your idea of getting your RP cost refunded if you finish in the top half. I think that would be cool. But also, you should NOT get any placement points unless you flat out win the game. So you can get your RP cost refunded by finishing in top 10, but you HAVE to get kills to climb. That would REALLY solve the ratting problem, people would be going all out aggressive once the field got narrowed to 10 teams and would make ranked way more fun to play.

I'm sick of seeing 8 teams in the final ring and you can't even move or you will get shot at by 3 separate teams.

Ranked clearly needed some changes, but the changes they made ain't it, chief. In fact, I think the changes they made are clearly going to make the ranked experience much worse for most players. I don't even care that much anymore, I'm going to play a little ranked at the beginning of next season and if it sucks as much as I expect it to, I'm just going to move on to Vampire:Bloodhunt, instead

It still has the shattered caps hopup which was my preferred one for the 3030, you then had a marksman/shotgun that paired well with everything giving you a option for every range and a 12 shot shotgun was pretty good even if it didn't have mastiff/pk max damage one shot potential.

Shattercaps on a 3030 are mostly bullshit. I find if i'm hip firing and its that bad of an emergency i need to nail them with the full damage from the hip or swap guns. Its not USELESS but if i had the option of faster reloads, something I'm going to do 100% of the time with the 3030 vs a bit more close range actions, something that happens less than 100% of the time, dual shell was always the better loadout for me.

I see the mastiff went in the crate which makes the dual shell only really viable for the 3030, so i get WHY they did it, but i'm just salty about it since it really made the gun much more versatile.

I don't know about getting NO Placement, I mean there can be value in surviving for a long time even without kills. Its why I like the idea of a damage threshold before it is turned on, alongside the kill requirement. Its frustrating to have multiple engagements, do a ton of damage, get 3rd partied, smartly withdraw and reposition, and end up with less RP than if you had just suicided in and killed ONE guy then immediately lost. That shouldn't be the optimal RP gain style, but right now, it is which as you note, is dumb.

Basically I think landing shots should count for something, even if its not a big RP gain, at least don't penalize you for essentially helping other teams get RP.

Not super happy with those patch notes overall, scouts still in the carepackage, energy mag value just got dumpstered, valkyrie largely untouched besides spinning while taking off at high speed, the devs deciding they really don't like headshot damage and now whenever you ask "was that a kraber or a sentinel I just heard?" the answer is "does it matter?"

And as much as I like rampart buffs I don't think making her cover harder to destroy before it's setup is the right call, rampart will just be jumping around and plopping them down until one sticks or use the 120 HP as a actual bodyshield worth of bullet blockage.

And still nothing to reduce controller's aimbot accuracy.

Its actually a pretty substantial nerf for being out of bounds. How many times has a path/valk/horizon dropped in an out or bounds area and used that height to throw an ability to get to an even further out of reach location to avoid a fight/reposition to high ground.

I predict that change will have tons of unintended bugs and feel bad movements, there are so many places you are "out of bounds" as horizon just riding to the max height even if it's outdoors in the open sky, valkyrie I don't know how often it comes up that she can fly out of bounds without sliding off whatever she landed on.

The main times I've been out of bounds as valkyrie is when ulting and landing on a cliff, but I've had out of bounds show up plenty of times in weird locations.

You should not be getting points for being in 15/20 with 6 kills. That's bad. your team is playing badly if that happens to you. I don't think that ratting is even a big issue in ranked nowadays, unless by ratting you just mean teams playing safe and not playing like its a deathmatch game.

I recently got my 4K badge, the 4000th damage shot was from the Kraber. It will always hold a special place in my heart :)

Oh man, I logged in to play ranked and saw that season ends tomorrow morning. I thought it ended tomorrow at midnight. Man, so there REALLY isn't enough time for me to hit diamond. It's ok.... I'm at peace with never getting to diamond, it doesn't bother me :ohdear:
