Idunno. respawn are possibly hedging their bets in case they decide to pull linux support later, by not announcing it they're less committed to supporting it forever there are already linux-specific apex cheats because the linux version of EAC is much easier to get around than the windows version

also it's possible that apex will switch over to EAAC at some point (EAs own confusingly named anticheat) which at least currently doesn't support linux at all

On the Steam Deck, the shader cache files are already provided. For everyone else on Linux though...Truga posted:after patches i'll get real bad lag on first load of every map because it didn't pre-compile shaders Each new update (no matter how small) invalidates pretty much the entire shader cache  There's a community-maintained cache file though which gets updated pretty frequently. There's also a launcher script here that will automatically download the latest community shader cache updates when you open the game.

My favourite Legends are the ones who are Just Some rear end in a top hat with no connection to any greater plot threads. Rampart, Fuse (a bit less now with Maggie around), Bloodhound to an extent. Octane and Horizon originally too but they have stuff going on and it's less funny to me now.

There’s arguments to be made about how well they’ve been handled or how long certain threads have been dangling, but I don’t think anyone has ever been fully divorced from everything. At minimum they’ve arrived with lots of obvious implications of things to come. Mirage’s current main thing is helping Wraith. Then he’s got particular connections but no current story with Rampart, Pathfinder, and Crypto. And in terms of side characters he’s got his mom’s health and the possibility of his deadbeat dad or MIA brothers showing up.

For 125 mats you can craft a “Golden Ticket”, which gives you a random fully kitted gun, some ammo, and “a ticket to see the future home of the Apex Games”. Doesn’t seem like it does anything until next Wednesday though, based on the “A NEW HOME” option in the mode select screen.

Gonna guess it'll let you get access to the "map preview" where you can run across the new map while combat is disabled. I think they did this for Olympus.

I’d bet dollars to donuts that it’s a map preview mode like SKULL.GIF said. The Olympus one was a really nice way to get to know the map, plus it was fun to have a few dozen people not killing each other. There were still (quick) ring closures so eventually everyone was jumping and spamcrouching and smashing Tridents into each other in the same POI. Reminds me of a regular match I once had where the last 4-5 teams spontaneously stopped fighting and we all just goofed off until the ring killed us.
