There's also the idea that you're going to get better at Apex by dropping hot and fighting immediately much faster than if you drop alone, spend ten minutes aimlessly looting, then meet your first squad (who probably already won a hot drop).

Lava Siphon is an infinitely better drop than Fragment. If you ever get jumpmaster on WE and want to drop hot but don't want to die instantly in Fragment then go there. If you win at Siphon you can go to Fragment next and clean up.

Ironically Fuse is very high tier for dropping Fragment when you have to use your Q to fight off people trying to punch you to death because nobody has a gun

My highest damage game was Fuse with teammates feeding me nades all game and shooting my guns very little. He's just a riot.

I haven't really gotten used to lobbing long range nades and clusters yet but it's definitely satisfying. Knuckle cluster is nice to launch on downed enemies to deny revives too I've found.

Fuse can just end some final fights with a none stop barrage of a full inventory of arc stars and the right positioning. I don't see much Newcastle played ever, mobility characters can just wrap around his walls. You didn't list it but you might want to consider unlocking Ash, in my option a top 5 character, maybe top 3. If you have the attention to check the map now and then her passive will show deathboxes which is a absolutely HUGE information advantage in a battle royale, you can tell when fights ended, where they happened, how quickly that area of the map is depopulating and in a pinch you can head over to resupply on some death boxes or mark the boxes to find which direction the killers went, Ash can provide more critical map info then most recon classes. Q is similar to Fuse, shoot it in a direction and screw over someone and mark them as a perfect target for grenade spam. Ult is a great reposition tool for either bugging out of a bad position or quickly getting on top of a squad when you have the advantage. if only there was a gamemode where you could put all the "i want instant action NOW" people so they wouldn't pollute the BR queue like maybe control or gun game hmmm no better do another 15 seasons of arena taking up 2 queue options in the main menu instead

I hate to agree but I must. You could probably make a limited time mode that was just "Fragment Death Match 24/7" and people would get bored with it and stop playing it.

They should just go ham with the npcs like it was in Titanfall. Faceless grunts everywhere so even when I'm getting throttled by a true legend I can still feel like a king flying through the map with a kill count in the hundreds. No downtime even after the melee at fragment so I'm still getting my dopamine hit.

I did/do want an endless respawning FFA mode for both warm up and endless mechanical polish. Like, I'd put on some music, zone out, and just shoot. I'm not going to do that in a normal game even arena, because you lose environmental awareness; but in a meaningless death match mode it doesn't matter. Let it be overwatch style where people can drop in during match making but also let me just join into that at will.

Yeah there was a sizable portion of the population that only cared about/played pilot vs pilot. Even now with northstar mod the most popular servers are PvP.

I wonder if they'll ever bring back Solos. I've gotten into the groove of playing with random people using the robust ping system but it'd be nice to be able to chill out solo without queueing into a disadvantage by going solo in Duos queue.

I ended up saying gently caress it and got the Champion Edition because I've already put 50 hours into this time black hole so they've earned it. Having a bigger roster to play with has been super great. I'm coming up on 12k funbux again and I'm really split between getting Seer or Catalyst. I know Seer is the more meta pick and I love his heartbeat sonar. But Catalyst is also pretty cool with the spike traps and stuff. Plus I got shiny BP stuff for her. Decisions are hard.
