It's not ideal, but it's pretty viable at close range as well in a pinch. You can hipfire spam it if an enemy is suddenly too close. In general, you just peck at everything. You aren't punished as badly for missing as you would be with a sniper. See someone poking around a corner a little distant away? Fire a good 2-3 shots at them. It covers a lot of ranges. It does sniper rifle levels of damage with assault rifle handling and if you're careful with your shots it can down people very quickly. It used to be classed as a sniper rifle but it was so good in its role they kicked it down to AR so the most magnification you'll get from it is 2/4x, which is what you should be aiming to attach to it. Don't use its iron sights, they're loving awful. Hipfire is likewise garbage and will get you into a lot of trouble. If they bring back double tap it makes it a little bit more bareable in close quarters, but not much - you'll only want to use it like that as a last resort. Personally I find the 3030 a far easier and much more satisfying weapon as a semi-auto big damage long rifle but if you're a good shooter the G7 will probably win out each time. If you want something similar, grab Anvil rounds for a Flatline and you'll have a fantastic automatic weapon paired with a ghetto version of the G7.

The G7 Scout is for missing all of your shots for the entire game OR hitting all of your shots for the entire game. It's definitely the gun I am the most feast and famine with. I think it's pros are: Huge amount of damage in each clip Gets way better with attachments Clamps at mid-range Fast fire rate Cons: Needs a lot of attachments Hipfire is pretty bad Slows ADS movement speed a lot Iron sights are absolute dogshit

G7 is my favorite gun for sure, I still prefer it to the Repeater. I think it reminds me of the Halo DMR. It fires really fast and the recoil makes it easy to go from body shots to headshots. Works best with a 2-4 scope.

Additional note: The speed you move while aiming down sights with the G7 is the same as with sniper rifles despite being an AR, so bear in mind you'll be easier to hit while aiming than with other guns of its category.

man i miss sticking a digithreat on the scout. it was terrible, let me be clear, but it kind of worked incredibly well to spot and harass with. i won one of my first games as a terrible newbie player via good callouts to my much better teammates with a digi scout, memories

I use the Scout as my sidearm if I'm running a SMG as my main gun. It's a pretty good mid-range rifle and it's more accurate and Its fire rate really has to be actively taken advantage of. It's significantly faster than the 30-30, with bullet slow you can pin down someone in the open and do some meat damage if not knock them. Light ammo being wildly common also means you can run 1-2 stacks and just refill off death boxes, perfect for a sidearm. e: after getting home and doing some testing in the firing range I withdraw my statement. Anvil Flatline > G7 Scout > Anvil 301. God drat, 3 teams left at algs, all 3 are match point so whoever wins the game wins the tournament, final circle starts closing, and then the stream skips forward and the game is already over, what a disappointment.

The other thing I like about the G7 Scout is that it uses Light instead of Sniper Ammo. With the prevalence of R301s and R99, I feel like it's easier to keep stocked up on ammo from just death boxes. The same with 30-30, enough people are using Heavy ammo guns. Edit: that said, I don't run it if I don't see a 3x or 2x-4x, everyone said it already but just garbage iron sights.

I love the solo option. I usually spend my first game knocking out a quick task or two, and then maybe a second solo game, but after that, teams all the time. It is just nice to get my daily poo poo done first.

Repeater incentivizes camping with its charge mechanism, snipers incentivize camping with long ADS and full screen scope. Scout is like a sniper you can run and gun with.

You're mostly using it because it'll burst someone down at range a lot faster than people expect whereas that's harder to do with assault rifles at the same sort of range. If you're carrying a scout you're also carrying an SMG/Shotgun for something closer. Pretty good for those final poke circles where pure snipers fall off.

I've been playing a lot of Loba lately and drat she's real good. Bracelet shittiness aside, being able to keep the team stocked up on poo poo is a big help, and I'm surprised I don't see her more often.

Every time I spectate one of my Loba teammates try a maneuver that would save their life if they pulled it off, only to be greeted by a finger wag and a firing squad, I swear her off for a week. I haven't played her all season

This happens to me constantly, and her tac is the entire reason I play her, so I must be a masochist. Maybe everyone knows this but you can determine if the bracelet will land by if there is a circle on the ground where the aim indicator is pointing. If it ends in a straight line, it means it isn't actually connecting to the surface, normally just due a bug. You need to really carefully aim it until you see a circle to avoid the finger wag. Aside from that, because of the facts that it has a super slow animation where you're vulnerable, and is as visible as a flash bang, you can't rely on it in a firefight anyway. They've kind of specifically designed it to only be useful for getting around outside of fights. (It's more like Overwatch Reaper than Overwatch Sombra)

I gave up on Loba after watching the tactical fail 3x in a row just outside Hammond Labs, tossing it over the hedge onto the gentle slope leading up to the phase runner.

One advantage that Loba has over Pathfinder's comparable tac ability is that Loba's can fit through gaps smaller than you can normally get through. Definitely through window bars and I think also through stairs. In addition to beating your teammates to the purple shields, it's great for flanks, ambushing and escaping when you're cornered.

Loba is a bad character anyway that encourages all of the wrong kind of play. Her ult is sorta useful if your team is absolutely terrible at looting well on their own. It teaches players to use only specific weapons which causes then to flounder if they can't get their perfect load outs. It alerts nearby enemies because it's loud and gives a huge visual. It allows enemies to swoop loot if they take it too. Ultimately your giving up a character with a good tactical and better ultimate because you are bad at looting efficiently and mag dump often without landing shots. I would 9 times out of 10 get a teammate who is anyone but loba because chances are when I get a loba all they want to do is loot for ten hours until they get all the perfect attachments, they never want to fight and when they do they are pretty much useless.
