Please Respawn, if Olympus is getting a revamp then just dump the new POI on top of Estates, or just better yet add a giant death chasm where it stands. I've hotdropped it 5 games in a row tonight and I wanna die it sucks so hard.

Mirage takeover event, where it looks like Estates but its actually just one of his holograms so you fly straight through and die while he laughs at you.

I mentioned earlier that the various takeovers in 2021 seem to have been their way of experimenting with ways to extend the duration of the actiony part of a match. Today and yesterday playing with Ultra Zones it definitely feels like there's a lot more squads surviving to the 3rd ring and later on. Having 3 hot zones throughout the map splits up the dropship a lot better, and the healing from the flashpoints allows squads to stay fighting for much, much longer than baseline. Just had a match where the Turbine had the ultra zone, and we had about 5 minutes straight of fighting on there. My squad finally came out on top because the other squads ran out of ammo Walked out into Ring 2 with more than 1200 damage and red shields.

Might be useful to know that each care package pops out three keycards and they land on the ground. They’re more inconspicuous than I expected and I went through three care packages before I noticed them

Really anything but a tiny town in the middle of a field.

Been on the bench for the last 4 months, but I have otherwise played the poo poo out of this game since Launch. How much has the meta shifted during Season 6 and 7?

Octane is also op, which I thought I would never say. Volt is a better SMG than the R-99. Snipers are actually good now. Quite a lot has changed.

R-99 still lasers people up close, so I feel like the Volt fires a little too slow to beat the R-99 for a fixed length of fire time

Volt with a sniper or Repeater, r99 with a scout. It's nice to only use one ammo type and that's hard with volt since the other energy weapons suck.

I wish they'd bring back the single-fire mode of the havoc. It made dual-wielding energy almost viable.

I land significantly more shots with it.

Volt's control deffo puts it on level with the R-99 imo. R-99 often feels all or nothing, either you just delete someone from the game or you piss a full clip into the grass. Volt feels a lil' better when you're stuck at mid-range as well.

Volt's recoil is easier to control as well. I'll usually plop a 2x on it and use it as a 301 substitute.

It seems fairly clear the new hero is meant to be Japanese (in the same way Horizon is meant to be Scottish) given the manga and candy from the previous image and the cherry blossoms, noodles & chopsticks, and paper walls.

God I hate Horizon. Love the character but fighting her is pre-nerf Wraith levels of unfun, gently caress it let's undo the damage you did with our dumb-rear end vertical wiggle dance and off to the races auruughhh. Wraith however is actually not all that bad to play against now, I don't actively have a visceral reaction to seeing one anymore. Probably because all the top Wraith players have switched to Horizon

I have no idea why people like dropping there, everytime I've dropped there the loot is absolutely garbage and it isn't particularly interesting to fight inside yet it's constantly a rainbow of drop trails from half the server wanting to fight there.

It being like 90% floor loot means you can see what you're going to grab at a distance instead of having to roll the dice on the pillboxes, and the open nature of it means a somewhat more level playing field: if you get beaten to a drop just veer to the left or right and loot that building instead, something that doesn't really work as well at other POIs. I prefer Gardens, it's somewhat more interesting to fight in and there's more loot overall.

Gardens (and a lot of other POI) benefit from the rat tunnels. A couple of service tunnels and a few more buildings with second and third floors would help Estates.

I fully acknowledge it might be an intensely ignorant understanding of balance on my part, but I legitimately think you shouldn't be able to fire you gun while you're in the column of her gravity lift and she would still be a very strong character.

I hate both Estates and Gardens, I usually drop either Bonsai or Oasis. Oasis is especially fun when you get there first and have free dibs on the gear in the basement. Nothing like grabbing a gold spitfire and a purple shield and just absolutely destroying any other team who dropped there.

Grow Towers have always done right by me. As long as your whole squad all drops in the same tower, you have a fighting chance no matter what. You can always run away somewhere else, with a reasonable amount of cover, if any particularly killer squads drop in a neighboring tower. Carrier is super good too. You always get to do a clean sweep, or you get a very fair fight. I always drop in the back and go for the bins up the stairs.

Grow Towers is basically the Olympus version of the Cage. They're both great for teams with vertical mobility that can go up and down easily. Also makes me miss Harvester.

Grow Towers would be a perfect place if they didn't spin. I want to like it but I always get frustrated looking out from there!

I like Grow Towers but I really despise the area around it. That entire stretch of land from Waterfall to Orbital Cannon is intensely open and really boring to fight in.

Maybe in the reworked map the towers will break and stop spinning.

On Olympus I like to drop Rift. It's just really easy to loot and fight there, there's so much loot compared to every other POI, and almost every dropship can reach it. Backup plan is Grow Towers or Hydroponics, but I'm not opposed to Carrier, Gardens, even Solar Array since its easy to slip in there opportunistically. Bonsai or Oasis are fine but teams gently caress them up by splitting over vast areas when they know there's an enemy team right there. To a degree this is true everywhere but having big vertical levels like that seems to make it worse. The problem is that I only get to be jumpmaster 1/3 of the time and its pretty much guaranteed we're dropping Hammond, Estates, or Fight Night.

Oasis aka 9/11 is my jam. Second would be Elysium since it seems no one ever goes there and you can rotate to two good spots
