Had some guy in diamond ranked the other day (solo queueing) just being the biggest toxic dbag (ok it’s apex so maybe not the biggest). Basically it’s him (Horizon) me (bloodhound) and a no mic pathfinder about to fight over by energy. Path drops down to a door on first level on some guys and gets insta deleted and for whatever reason I follow him, also get downed. The annoying teammate is all mad asking why we fight like this etc. At this point I’m down and at his mercy and he wasn’t exactly wrong so I say nothing, though it’s so hard to know what to expect in your first fight with randoms. Eventually he rezzed me because the fight got thirded and we killed some ppl, got path back, I start trying to get some better loot off the boxes in the area just so I at least have a better sight for my hemlok etc. This of course made him really mad for some reason, I “wasn’t helping” him shoot some guy on a different team that ran by even though he wasn’t shooting him either... -_-. He then gets mad at me for not scanning with bloodhound even though I didn’t even have it yet, at which point I told him to shut the gently caress up. Long story short I get downed again because he’s nowhere to be seen as I barely lose a 1v1, they both die (I assume he was just cowering this entire time), and I see that I ended up doing twice the amount of damage that he did 😂😂😂 TrixR4kids fucked around with this message at 19:49 on Apr 20, 2021 |

I had a guy get downed engaging a team miles away from the teammate and I. Who then proceeded to lose his mind at us about " where were we, your so bad etc etc". Par for course normally but the sheer paroxysm of rage he went into when the teammate proceeded to solo the team that downed him (I was useless) and then walk away without rezzing and deadpan saying " I only pick up people who are worth it" was heartwarming. Edit: Tbh the thing that was most surprising was the guy not insta quitting

There was a time when I honestly tried to wrangle my pubbie teammates but it just didn't matter. I wasn't sanctimonious or condescending I would just say stuff pursuant to me like "hey I'm really far away and can't help, give me a moment" or whatever and it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Everyone watches streamers and tries to play like them even though they quite simply do not have the gun skill or game sense to pull it off. Now I just watch badges. If one guy has a hammer that's the guy I generally stay near and try to help because at least theoretically they can do something some of the time, although I'm shocked how many of those hammer players just W into the enemy team and die without accomplishing anything as a matter of course. Anyone with a 20 bomb or triple skull will generally be good enough to wipe squads with a little support, but these players are very vulnerable to third party situations and also don't tend to give a poo poo about their teammates (once had a Wraith who I picked up 4 times as she chewed through the server, and the first time I went down she wiped the squad that killed me and then didn't pick me up and let me time out on my banner. Just don't get it as she only had like 8 kills because me and the other guy were actually contributing and playing off her, wasn't like leaving us behind was going to get her a 20 bomb or something.) I'm just hoping I get out of this cycle of either being forced to rat around or quit the game early after both my teammates eat poo poo in the first 20 seconds or standing around looting until minute 12, where my teammates literally run straight at the enemy and engage them in the worst way possible, dying immediately and leaving me in a 1v3. I just triple ping everything I plan on doing. Let's go here, I'm going here, I'm attacking/defending here. Wish we had a "Retreat" and "Ult charge status" ping but oh well.

at the risk of it being spammed, it would be nice if there was a voice line or something to your teammates about your q/ult being on CD when you try to use it like there is with health items.

We’re not perfect players so don’t expect too much, but we both average a 2-3 KD+20-25% win rate, use our mics, and aren’t braindead pubbies. He’s on west coast and I’m on east coast so wherever you are (assuming USA), the server choice is covered. We hate hot dropping but enjoy “warm” dropping. I can’t guarantee I’ll be on much in the next week as I a) am poopsocking Path of Exile and b) may have to attend a funeral across the country, but I’ll be around eventually for sure. I also like warm dropping as at least I'll have an Alternator and some white armor, which is a drat sight better than a fist and a dream. I will add you but I have to warn you what happens: the SBMM sees that you two are quite good and puts you in the skilled lobbies. The 3 stack factor ups the SBMM even harder. Unfortunately I am not good enough to hang at this level and generally get poo poo on by most of the lobby. After about 12 games where I've gotten a combined 2 knocks and done less than 120 damage most games you'll drop me (and for good reason) and we won't play together anymore. But who knows? I try to be super chill when playing solos because it's not worth it but yesterday I got (privately) angry at a Wraith I was playing with who kept pinging she had no ammo and didn't bail the fight with me despite multiple pings saying "I'm heading [away from fight]" I only said "dude you really should have bailed with me" and he just said "I couldn't. They were shooting at me" I was mentally screaming "you have a q and I also just bailed when they were shooting at me too" aaaaaaa

I stopped playing with pub teams because they always rush in to a group of 10 people, die immediately getting 0 knockdowns, and then use gamer words when I hang back and attempt to get their corpses, and then disconnect before I can even do so. Because clearly one more person rushing in and we would have killed the other three squads right Consequently, playing with a pre-made team is an exercise in frustration because you always get matched up with other pre-made teams who have, sometimes, highly conspicuous awareness and aim. Like, I don't expect to have a perfectly fair game most of the time. It's a BR, 60 players in the game, skill gradients are real, luck plays a role. But drat there has to be something better than this. Truly unsatisfying to have to rat around looking for picks in the vast majority of your games. It's too far in the other direction.

I just want to check if this is a universal experience or just me. Lately this is how my games go. First game champion has 0 kills on character no badges. I do fairly well not great because I am not great but like 4 to 6 kills or so. Second game every name has ttv in it and drop trails are purple and red everywhere. I land .. maybe survive because of my teammates and put in at most 400 damage while I try to help the wandering murder bots that are my teammates ( this game will also lag like a motherfucker and I will rubberband constantly after the first two engagements) Third game not everyone has ttv in their name and drive trails clear up but it feels like every single enemy team has double hammers 500 and the 20 bomb badge( or at least the ones that inevitably murder me do). My teammates and I are lambs to the slaughter and I will do on avg 150 to 300 damage. This continues until I am lucky enough to solo drop with a clanned duo who will not speak but will move in coordination enough that I can follow and not be a hindrance. This game I may or may not get kills but at least I will put in 900 or so damage. After this second game and third will cycle again until I get tired of punching myself in the sack. I dunno what to say but it sounds like math just hates you because my experience with pubbies is not anywhere near this bad, I'm always really nice and give them attachments they need and advice and 9/10 times they follow suit, even to the point of doing stupid things like trying to get my banner when doing so is a Very Bad Idea lol Edit: my k/dr is lower than yours but my win rate literally double (12%) and I always solo queue, have you considered that maybe there are things you could be doing better, like prioritizing staying alive over getting kills? I watch the video and the comments on youtube were full of people chiming off different catch phrases they want to be used for her ult but there wasn't really a lot of explanation as to why she would be in the Apex games?

I watch the video and the comments on youtube were full of people chiming off different catch phrases they want to be used for her ult but there wasn't really a lot of explanation as to why she would be in the Apex games? blisk, south african dude and founder of the apex games, was i think one of the primary protagonists in titanfall 1 and absolutely the primary antagonist in 2. he ran a titan mercenary company and employed viper (who at some point tried to retire and had a kid as per the events of the video) viper was a boss you brutally murder in tf2 in what was probably the best boss fight of that game. valkyrie obviously blames blisk for getting her father killed to some degree but, as outlined in the video that was kind of irrational - blisk didn't force viper into it or anything he just used to be his boss. instead of seeking her vengeance with what was left of her father's titan she has chosen to honour his memory by participating in the games.

My first suggestion is just play Titanfall 2 already. It’s not that long of a game, it’s super cheap on every platform, and it’s really good. But if you’re not gonna do that then you could watch Viper’s introduction and Viper’s death. That’s it, 3 minutes later you know almost everything there was to know about him before the Northstar short, minus a mid-fight catch phrase or two. He really isn’t very fleshed out, but it’s a cool boss fight and suggestive of more character than is actually given. Which makes it cool that the short gave him more backstory and tied him into a game that does a lot more characterization. Pretty much the same situation as we had with Ash.

Dear god I hope Arena peels off even a fraction of the twitchy GOGOGOGOGOGO pubbies, 3 out of 5 games today stuck with a pair of them who hotdrop, grab a single gun and maybe a single reload's worth of ammo before charging off towards the nearest firefight to get caught in the middle of. At least one of those games I grabbed a fully kitted Longbow and spent the rest of the game after my teammates rage quit before their bodies hit the ground stalking the remaining teams and practicing my headshots.

Thanks to whoever convinced me to try out TF|2. I've been playing pilots only but it's super fun. It reminds me of playing Halo or Quake, but the pilot build I'm playing has Kraber, Grapple and Map Hack so it feels like playing Widowmaker in those environments.

Apex's greatest crime was doing the Alternator dirty as opposed to the world-shredding beast it was in Titanfall 2. It's actually pretty decent in its niche now as a mini Spitfire and I like it, but goddamn picking it up for the first time in Season 1 was a kick in the teeth. Nothing beats its Disruptor Round version though

Apparently consoles do a bit of auto tracking? pretty significant auto-aim and honestly legit pretty close to perfect (at my skill level/observation) in balance with mouse/keyboard, it's very well implemented to be good without being OP. there are some weird quirks - any scope over 3x loses auto tracking when ADS (iirc?) so you can't really snipe as easily for example, but it's totally totally competitive with kb/m.
