Had some amazing arena rounds today with Caustic. Even with just his base three gas cans he seems to scare the poo poo out of a lot of people from actually pushing in way more than in BR. So rock up to a chokepoint with a mid-to-close range loadout and sit there flinging out 'nades to force them to come closer or let the rest of the team get the flank on them. Speaking of 'nades, do pubbies just not bother with them in Arena? Like, I don't think I've ever seen any except a single Caustic ult. It's a weird thing to overlook when people just love bundling up on the top deck of the Voyage/up on the shattered wall in Arsenal/etc.

You finish off downed players, rack up tons of damage if the fighting has got stuck at a chokepoint, and the damage numbers give you great info on where people are moving to. Grenades are amazing in arena, I try to buy a few every round. There's tons of little cover in arenas that people expect to his behind for free. The frags are great because they're only 75, and are really deadly if you can high-arc them. We played a streamer yesterday and it was fun watching the vod and seeing them complain about our grenade usage.

Sorry for barging in, but I have a question for the apex homies. Has anyone had do deal with EA regarding a ban? Apparently there was a big ban wave last week that caught a lot of people accidentally, one of them being my bro. He tried to appeal it twice but they told him to pound sand. I know the homie would never cheat, having played competitive fps's with him since we were but tiny lads treading the CS 1.6 servers

At least one goon was hit by it and got back in like two days later without doing anything.

The Moz feels really busted. Like even better than hammerpoint P2020 from last season. Six rounds plus that much tighter of a spread. Also for some reason I feel it's much easier to be accurate with it than the EVA-8 or Peacekeeper. Not sure why since the bullet travel time is definitely slower than either of these two. The Mastiff is better but only with bolts and even then not by that much.

As someone who only started playing Apex after the PK was added to the care package, I can never figure out how to effectively use it. Anytime I pick the PK up I miss more shots than I do using the Mozzie. Am I just poo poo or am I missing something?

Am I just poo poo or am I missing something? you are probably missing something. the peacekeeper does not automatically apply a "choke" effect to the pellet spread when ADS and as such is better fired from the hip - it shares this property with the eva 8 only, both the mozambique and the mastiff have a STRONG effect. this is confused somewhat as the "precision choke" effect on the PK does tighten the spread but really only for special shots, you don't want to rely on that something that charges up in a close fight - typically it will serve you MUCH better if you don't ADS at all. also, if your character is doing something with their other hand there's a special spincock animation which is pro. i like going into the firing range as octane and trying to do as much damage as i can to dummies before i stop spincocking.

Edit: overlooked a part of the post that addresses this. PK does have choke in ADS, you just need to charge it. For example, sit behind a door, charge the shot for the person who comes through, then change to hip fire to finish off if needed. It really incentivizes camping.

Please Respawn, implement some sort of compensation for players failing to connect to arena games or leaving early. Multiple times tonight, often in a row, I've had rounds wasted by it dropping us in 2v3 or even 1v3 and it sucks to happen so regularly.

Whenever i get put into an arena match with less than a full team I just leave. It's only arena, its not like there's rank/stats to worry about. In other news i've picked up fuse again and i'm really enjoying the second knuckle cluster. It's pretty easy to block a push while your friends are healing with it and the overly generous stick radius means i'm getting off tons of free damage every fight with it. Will probably chuck some clips into a video tonight. I've won many Arena rounds with just 1 other partner against a full 3. Why leave before you know how good or bad the other team is?

(though if there was a way to opt into the bubble mode to make a boring 3v2 a more interesting match I'd be down)
