While solo queuing, you know all those players you meet that drop hot, can't aim, and call you slurs? Those are bots too. Only explanation. I have that black screen problem, reinstalled, verified files multiple times, nothing really seems to work, though the last two times it's only taken a minute to get me to lobby and no error message. respawn cannot keep lobbys from unreadying players but they also implemented the most advanced forced 50% win percentage algorithm in human history and theyve designed a vast, easily adaptable network of bots of all skill levels that will fill games to make up for the lack of players in the community, even with crossplay. sorry i guess that should read 5% but the people complaining about the matchmaking system rigging their games are the exact same kind of people who believe in forced 50% anyways.

Enough other BRs have bots implemented that I’m sure Apex could. But my impression is that they haven’t and don’t have bots in servers now, those experiences sound consistent with them just being bad players. I’m sure if someone matched with me while I attempted to play on a Switch they’d think I was a very poorly coded bot.

Multiple times recently I've been saddled with teammated who are genuinely surprised you can move AND shoot. They might even learn what end to point towards the enemy next. That said, they tend to not be the ones who start up with the Gamer words at the drop of a hat. Like the guys who almost blew my headphones out when I... dared use my own Black Market before they could run over and use it before me? Or something? They were very insistent on punching me off of any lootboxes/black markets after that.

Bots are very obvious and I've never seen anything in apex that can't be explained by the player just being a dumbshit. I think the maps are just too cluttered with buildings and such to make even functional bots

My Hot Takes World's Edge feels really, really empty without its new POIs and alternative routes. The blue sky, train, the beloved Drill Site (still the best zone) are all the only ways that the old version is superior. Harvester and Fuel Station are on par with each other but otherwise all the new additions really bring into stark relief just how empty the original WE felt. King's Canyon feels like they got it right first time and then a lot of the changes took away the vibe, it's kind of gnarly to revisit it after forgetting a lot of it. Changes I dislike in New KC: Containment feels like a garbage trap zone compared to the open circular hut collection. There's a natural flow to that area and it allows for some fun interactions with people who are hunkered up in the tower whereas new KC basically gives them free reign to take potshots at you. Slum Lake is a really fun place to fight and feels like a more linear Skulltown. I don't mind the new area with the yellow tents but again it's a different vibe. I miss Water Treatment so much. I haven't interacted with CausticLand much because it just seems like a clusterfuck. Yeah Water Treatment is just a bunch of wacky bottlenecks but you get a variety of sneaky ways to deal with them whereas in CausticLand if you're not in the building you're not participating. Thunderdome and Skulltown, other than just being fun areas, really add so much to the map visually that it's easy to feel their loss in the new version. I get that Skulltown wipes the player count quickly and that Thunderdome was too cool to exist and removing them compresses the map down so people have to fight more, but their losses are controversial for a reason. Bridges is garbage but so is Cage. I wish they would change that area entirely. Octane, Wraith and Crypto's TT are a huge loss and were genuinely great changes. Capacitor I could take or leave, the Rig area feels way more fun to fight around in the old version.

It seems pretty random I queued into Arenas after a few minutes of letting it idle BR and it threw me into a BR game was unexpected. Is there a better feeling than someone rushing you in a straight line when u got a devotion

50 Arena wins during this event is too goddamn high, you gotta average 3.5 a day and on an unlucky day you can be like me and have just 1 after more than an hour. And then you gotta find time for averaging about 7 BR knocks. I wish my dumb brain didn’t care about digital merit badges.

That new Arena map looks like it goes where Thermal Station is. I hope this event is something more than "play Arenas a bunch" because it'll be the third or fourth "event" that's just doing that in a row and at this point I'd rather not play Apex than play Arenas. If you enjoy it more power to you, I like playing BR and don't think Arenas needed to be a full time mode forever.
