Nameless Pete posted:Also it makes narrative sense for all your levels to reset and you can just say nobody held onto their old weapons, but I kinda wanna know how a 17-year-old spent the 10 million yen(~100k USD) I left him with at the end of Royal in just a few months. Honestly my assumption is that once everything was settled the Phantom Thieves probably donated it to some cause or another because at the end of the day they didn't get into this poo poo to get rich which is one of their defining traits.

They ease up a bit but it's still a thing. To be fair, it switches from "you're a cop and thus a bastard" dunking to (Zenkichi character arc spoilers) "you're a good cop and thus OUR bastard" dunking.

Well, finished post-game. Time for Merciless NG+ I guess?? I'm going with these pre-emptive rankings for it based off endgame, let's see how much they change: S+: Joker S: Ryuji Wolf A: Sophia Ann Yusuke B: Haru Morgana C: Makoto

Jail number---6--- mostly done. Life Will Change with vocals? ![]() Wait, boss got a Gundam? Sign me the gently caress up. Rivers in the Desert remix? ![]() New song for the final phase of the boss? ![]() (what's the title on the new one btw?) Now some last downtime before the other shoe drops. Again. Speculation: it's gotta be Ichinose, EMMA barefacedly lied to Konoe there. I knew she was hearing Morgana but I assumed Pancakes mk. II, not Izanami mk. II. Now which goddess could she be? Spoilers for the 6th prison. I really wish we could yell a Konoe both for how similar he sounds to Akechi and Shido, and how without us he would have most likely been killed by them.

What determines which Persona skill is used for a given combo finisher? I wish there was a practice arena or something lol, I can sense that that combat can get pretty intricate and technical but it is pretty overwhelming when you're in the "thick of it" lol, to process everything I'm often just hovering on the edge of the battle and spending a lot of time in the menu. I also keep forgetting to use my aimed shots, leaving damage on the table...

CharlieFoxtrot posted:What determines which Persona skill is used for a given combo finisher? I believe it's different per Persona. The shorter combo will give a buff or debuff or physical attack depending on the Persona while the longer combo will give an attack of that Persona's element (the icon next to their name in the stat screen)

CharlieFoxtrot posted:What determines which Persona skill is used for a given combo finisher? It heavily depends on the persona. Generally: 3xAttack->Special, or Follow-up->Special, brings out its elemental attack (at basic/-ga/-dyne tier depending on the persona), some Personas get a physical skill instead; Sarasvati gets a low power Mediarama. It's intended as the bread and butter free skill. 2xAttack->2xSpecial can be almost anything, and some Personas do a generic attack instead of a skill on this one. 5xAttack->2xSpecial is usually the gigantic guns for how long it takes to do this combo. I've seen ma-dynes 10 levels early, ma-kaja skills, motherfucking CHARGE (Ganesha) and CONCENTRATE (can't recall). Also gigantic whiffs like Marin Karin or Makajamon, fair warning. You can practice combos out of battle, at least for checking what skills your personas casts for each combo.

Doing the post 3rd dungeon scenes now and this is absolutely amazing, from Zenkichi essentially being Dojima if Nanako loving dunked on him repeatedly, to Akane's room reveal, to some pretty amazing dialogue from the "We are the Phantom Thieves." blunt answer to "Fist of the Phantom Channel" to Fukaba simultaneously making a Titanic and Whitney Houston joke. I do have to say, this game is having a lot more fun with the cast than I remember P5 doing, and I replayed it for Royal when that hit too.

It benefits a lot from the fact that it is a game almost exclusively about the already-together cast on a road trip so the focus is on them almost exclusively.

Man I want to love this game and I am so glad it got ported to PC...but I'm getting random yet consistent stuttering in game. It's not that the Framerate is dropping or anything, its just during gameplay it will just freeze up for about half a second every few seconds or so. It's made the game very hard to enjoy. Specs AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 12 core processor 24 gb RAM NVidia GTX 1070 https://imgur.com/a/YwKeSGL Every one of those spikes in CPU usage and dips in GPU usage is when it freezes up. Not really seeing anyone else complaining about this either in the steam community or by doing a google search, so maybe it's just me.

Okay, so wait- I'm still on the first dungeon, but it looks like time doesn't pass when you leave jail? So is there any reason to not constantly bounce out to refill HP/SP, then dive back in?

Activate checkpoints whenever you see them
