I'm just in awe of a tax system where they just tell you what you owe because I'm assuming there's no bullshit tax preparation industry in NZ like there is in the US.

A few years ago the images that accompanied old onion articles were lost, which were critical to many classic stories. Recently they fixed that so that’s good.

Bought a bag of pretzel chips that were ok on their own, then I tried dipping them in spicy mustard and got a new go to snack.

I'm a sucker for pretzels and mustard. After a while you end up with a collection of different mustards.

I love helping turtles.

In dumb, but good things for me, a guy on IG had one of my 'white whale' camos for sale. They will be in the mail Tuesday, but a sneak peak from my Camo Encyclopedia.

I met a tortoise at a petting zoo who liked having his shell scritched, and it has made my enjoyment of their kind so much greater.
Now, whenever I help a turtle, I give a gentle scritch

As you get better and dial in your recipe, you will only want homemade sauce. Its so much work, but it makes the house smell so good.

I don't even think it's a lot of work, there's maybe an hour of prep and the rest is just simmering and stirring every half hour or so

You should put some black olives and pepper flakes in that and lean into the puttanesca side of things.

I use whole peppercorns but the olives sound like a good idea

Whole peppercorns are a good idea, but unless you just have no tolerance for capsaicin I recommend you experiment with some amount of red pepper flake. Also, drop in some caper berries.

I officially passed 65 pounds lost and weigh 250 for the first time in 10 years.

If I can keep it up (and I have every reason to think I can), I’ll enter weight territory I haven’t been in since college, some 15ish years ago.

220 is my high school weight so there’s that to look forward to as well. A “healthy” weight for someone my age and height is about 190ish (and that’s my end goal. Finally feels within reach and :feelsgood:)

Update: I’ve just passed 75 pounds lost and am sitting at 240 lbs.

it’s loving bizarre and exhilarating as I’ve got a lot of complicated feelings toward my weight.

I can see my belly finally receding beyond just in proportion to my overall weight loss. That’s a recent development. Still pudgy around the middle but I’m closing in on dad bod instead of beer gut.
