Because, dipshit, I have an entire sub of loving goons to moderate. Several of which are very bad at not engaging with bad faith posters. That already introduces a complicated factor into this as while some goons might be savvy enough to not do so, not everyone is. On top of that outside posters of the sub constantly keep making GBS threads on my lawn and when I try to do something about it I am not met with the best response both from them and from a factor I won't say but you can probably easily infer. So these factors combined make a thread that should otherwise be pretty simple to moderate very loving volatile and introduce a series of problems. This is to say nothing of the people in my sub who do horny post and are terrible at reading the room so they can complicate it further. This is on top of this being a comedy forum so every bad faith calling someone a pedophile is met with "It's satire" as if they're a stand up comedian being called out for making tasteless rape jokes. Something Awful is not the place to have this thread. It just isn't. End of story.

It would be really simple if you drew a very blatant line and permabanned anyone who stepped over it but for some reason that is too hard to do on the something awful forums. I'd like to have a thread to talk about funny HoloEN or Nijisanji clips in but if that thread is gonna be filled with desperate pathetic losers who spend hundreds of dollars on superchats because they have no real friends and don't understand how extremely unhealthy parasocial relationships are and the freaks who can barely hide how much they jerk off to Nyanners and the other weird japanese cartoon porn fetish bait poo poo then I'd rather it just stay dead. I didn't want to probate people for liking some internet personality that's been around forever just because they're weird and coomerish. People should be allowed to like poo poo that they do for reasons other than being perverts and unless I see someone horny posting otherwise I want to assume the best of the people here. I know that's not realistic and not everyone's standards are the same as mine, but I don't like this militant approach to moderation. Regardless off who's in the right or wrong, the v-tuber threads have always been a headache to modderate and lead to really bad posting. They're basically just a honeypot to lovely posting that makes everyone upset. I don't blame Baal or any other mod from banning the topic, so that way there's a lot less stress and issues associated with it, especially with painting targets on posters backs.
