I can see a regional argument for dude being neutral but it's clearly a masculine term generally. Similarly I say "you guys" neutrally sometimes as a midwesterner but I don't argue with people who don't like it

I work with an Indian woman who is currently based out of Atlanta and the combination of the Indoenglish accent and the y'all's is just delightful. e: when New Englanders say it it just seems unnatural and forced.
