Lesser Scorsese with nic cage about an ambulance driver. this was pretty good I think I liked it more than her tho hah watho posted:Cure (1997) also cure owns I always pair it up in my head with pulse (2001) for some reason even though they're clearly not the same also the house with a clock in its walls pulled me in just off that title and being like wait wtf where did this jack black movie come from I haven't even heard of it? does this suck? and you know what? for what it was, a magic kids' movie with jack black that's a little off and actually kinda dark but very cheesy, it was pretty fun not as good as that series of unfortunate events movie, but if you like that, you might have fun with this

HELLOMYNAMEIS___ posted:i watched silence. interesting topic about history that i did not know about, and beautiful cinematography. that movie is so good. that was the first non-spiderman movie with andrew garfield in it that I saw and I was stunned at how great he was in it. scorcese hits a really great tone on spirituality and religion in his movies, with a blend of optimism and skepticism that i think a lot of people can relate to. watched UHF with my kids last night. after 35 years the movie still slays with boys aged 7-12 and their nerdy dads. |

i watched harbinger down. some grade-a body horror, if you're into that sort of thing. reminescent of "the thing", which might be intentional because the year the thing was released (1982) is referenced in the film. i was also reminded of the ferryman, probably because they both take place on a marine vessel and have an at-first unknown threat element. |
