Since y'all are talking about halloween 5 here now, I watched the same horror movie, Matrix. White rabbits and computer touchers working in big offices in the 90s and probes in bellies etc, so I guess it's basically fight club in slowmotion

I didn't watch a movie last night but I watched some Scavenger's Reign which is inventive but a little flat so far. I plan on watching the 1981 Gundam film trilogy soon and Halloween 5 and then Patlabor movies.

Last night I watched Anomalisa. Brilliant movie. I love Charlie Kaufman. It's about a narcissist with a mental disorder that makes it impossible for him to tell people apart no matter how obviously different they are.

District 9. Racism is bad, in South Africa, turns out. I learned from a friend that they shot the film in an actual slum in Johannesburg, which diluted the message somewhat. Also diluting it is the fact that all Nigerians are portrayed as violent backward criminals who believe in magic.

i'm thinking of ending things. thematically rich, about eg. the horror of getting old, and loneliness. seeing some of the conversations about it, having read the book would seem to help figure out the plot, but it wasn't so important for me to have everything make sense.
This one. Loved it. Painful and brilliant.

the new looney tunes movie (the day the earth blew up) is pretty good
entirely animated, and well at that with some fun aspect/style changes
and it's an entire porky+daffy movie
