That explains why I haven't seen them...Topps loves to make some cool things online-exclusive. Like when they brought the T206 cards back but only online.

They’ve done 3D releases from time to time and they are always gone really fast from their website

2024 Heritage and Stadium Club had them as case hits, too. Some of them are pretty sweet looking but go for more than I'm currently willing to pay

I have two Bijan Robinson redemptions from June. They've asked if I wanted to change to rewards. What are the odds I finally get my Bijan autos? I keep saying I want my biiiiiiijan s. (That's who I collect). I got a deion Sanders /5 that took forever to get. Just didn't know if Panini is losing the license and I'll never get my biiiiiiijan

Panini redemptions are always a little sketch from what I've seen but I don't buy their stuff anyway so

If it's from this past season I would give it a few months still, a lot of guys don't prioritize signing while the season is in progress. If it's from a previous year I don't think you're ever getting that card, unfortunately.

camoseven posted:Backyard Breaks is a common target of this conspiracy cause they hit a lot of chasers (they also open an eye watering amount of product though). The thing about Backyard is yes, they do open a lot of product. Next time you watch their stream, look at what product they're actually opening. Often it's a product they've built themselves! What they'll do is buy an obscene about of product from a distributor (lol they don't have direct accounts with Topps or Panini both companies know those two brothers that run BYB are scum of the earth) and they open it all off camera. They then REPACK it into their own products. "Baller Boxes" or whatever they call them. All with worse odds and value. This is what they're mostly breaking on whatnot. Yes they still rip regular Panini products but most of the time they're ripping a product they built themselves. BUYER BEWARE Actually, maybe you shouldn't watch any of their streams ever again? quote:We, the sports card community, are deeply concerned and appalled by the recent actions of Grant Telford, one of the founders and Chief Marketing Officer of Backyard Breaks, a prominent sports card breaking company. Apologies for an X link in the quote. Sadly a lot of the hobby discourse still happens on that website. Quote comes from a change dot org petition trying to get BYB banned from 2025 events and Whatnot/Twitch. Unfortunately a lot of issues like this get wiped under the rug in the industry. Companies/businesses/breakers play the waiting game and eventually the public forgets. Backyard has had so many controversies over the years and yet they continue to grow. I guess their money is greener than all of the other people in the industry? This petition is the first shot at them POSSIBLY facing a comeuppance. https://www.change.org/p/ban-backya...jEwMmE0Yw%3D%3D insideoutsider fucked around with this message at 16:03 on Feb 2, 2025 |

The only thing I ever heard about backyard breaks before this was they were doing a giveaway and then the second they saw it was a big kaboom card they were like "sorry guys we aren't giving this away" lol

Yeah multiple of their on-stream guys have video of them saying stuff on the same level as what got the guy into trouble, it’s real bad

Oh wow a national news broadcast picked it up.... Newsmaxx you say? I won't post the link but if you search that station + backyard breaks you'll find the story. I have a feeling a nice tidy donation to Florida GOP will make all of this go away but it's nice to see them catching a little bit of heat for pissing on the third rail

I’m setting up a booth at a card show as a seller for the first time. The plan is selling off a bunch of low-end inserts, used sports apparel, a handful of slabs and some $100-200 cards. This is split with two other friends selling similar items. -The higher end products will be in some wooden showcases. -we have card boxes for people to rummage through the $1 card boxes, most cards are sleeved or top loaded -to deter thefts, we will have a camera running in the background connected to a laptop Does anyone have any tips or something we are missing for a first time seller?

It’s hard to get a good pic with the glass

I mainly wanted to clear out a bunch of stuff collecting dust in the home and I was somewhat successful with it. We didn’t have the best way to give access to the sports clothes hanging behind us so they came back home with me. I think the best moment was near the end when I started giving out Connor McDavid base cards to little kids for free and how happy they were. I only sold around $250 but I didn’t bring anything high end with me to sell. For comparison’s sake, a Pokémon card vendor cleared $6k. If I were to sell at a show again, I would order one of those showcases to display cards, they seem to move better and look more presentable. I’d also make the dollar cards front and centre. They were near the back at the beginning. I moved them in the afternoon and it grabbed more attention.

Any tips on getting stuff graded for a beginner? I have a bunch of football cards that the kids have gotten autographed over the years, most of the cards are in average shape at best. No interest in the market, just think it would be cooler display them in graded slabs.
|
|
|
|
I mean you can buy bigger card slabs yourself if you aren't planning on reselling. Because otherwise you are either paying for card grading or autograph authentication and that can get expensive.

I had zero desire to start collecting cards until a few months ago and since then I've been picking up some upper deck hockey cards. I've picked up a blaster box per series and pretty much just want to get some cards of players I like so I can stick them in top loaders and put stickers all over them. So far I'm enjoying the weird ones that pop up every now and then, like the UD portrait series where they put the players in costumes and there's a gold frame around them ![]() ...this still probably sounds like I'm rationalizing the beginning of an addiction, doesn't it?

I think im actively going to try to find his cards on their own, someone told me about COMC so I'll probably start there. Also I don't have this one and can't remember enough details to find it but there was a Kirill Kaprizov card where if you titled it to a certain angle a waterfall would show up on him? That's the kind of weird poo poo I like, how would someone even come up with that.

For the flagship set, Upper Deck really does a nice job with the photography. They get some fun shots, especially on the canvas cards. The blasters are also nice to scratch the itch of opening product to see what you get without breaking the bank. Then if you really want something, just go with buying singles. Sure it's fun to hit something you collect, but it's really easy to get disappointed by getting say $20 of singles out of a $100 box if it's players you don't really care about.

Cool cards! I love UD Hockey, some guys I watch on Youtube open it occasionally, but I only collect Baseball. One thing that took me a minute to learn about COMC is if you want to buy cards and utilize their service where they hold your purchases for you and send them all at once later when you ask them to ship, you have to load funds into your account and buy them that way. If you just add cards to your cart and check out, they just ship them to you.
