Ferrari made some proper Ferrari-brained decisions this year but lol if they think replacing Binotto is going to see them improve on 2nd in the WCC. This is football manager levels of decision making.

This is football manager levels of decision making. Binotto is an engineering guy and definitely has turned the performance of the car around but the trackside operations are atrocious and at the very least they need to take those responsibilities off him and give it to someone more competent (ie not Jock Clear). Ducati have like 3 seperate guys doing what Binotto's job currently is and managing probably around half as many people.

Ferrari's responses to urgent calls from their drivers being "hang on, we are checking" has to be a fundamental problem in the way the team operates.

I got the cheapest M1 Air with the lowest spec SSD and RAM and its absolutely fine unless I am really really taking the piss (e.g. 7 apps running including safari with 50+ tabs, many of which are 200mb+ pdfs, or editing 4K video in AfterEffects)

Personal Lucubrant posted:I bought a big pair of poultry shears to try spatchcocking a turkey for Thanksgiving this year. ![]() ![]() Meanwhile we still have this giant 19 pound turkey in the fridge, and I feel fine. About to have turkey sandwiches for literal days! Residency Evil posted:We've now cooked turkey like 5-6 different ways and spatchcocking was probably Top 1-2. ![]() For such a big turkey we probably needed a bigger roasting pan. It was tough to squeeze that big bitch in there after flattening it out. Also the shears only got through about half of the ribs before becoming too much effort. Used a chef's knife to get through the larger ribs and hips, but it worked out. Mixed a bunch of black pepper and herbs with two sticks of butter and slathered it all over and under the skin before it went into the oven. And before anyone asks, it was salted butter, because lol, lmao. Used the neck and spine to make a kickass gravy, and for my first totally solo Thanksgiving turkey it turned out pretty drat nice. Good stuff, but I don't think it was quite as good as, Residency Evil posted:Don't fry it like a dirty goon. I considered it, but the amount of oil needed is pretty cost prohibitive. Maybe at some point in the future. ![]()

I was thinking recently of a driver quote but can't remember who said it. Something along the lines of "you never know when it's your last podium". I think it was alonso or riccardo. It's super vague I know but does anyone have any idea who I might be thinking of?

Oh I'm sorry is this the same Nico that reminds us of 2016 every chance he gets? Lewis is more than allowed to dunk on Nico. Next time he sees him he should give him a swirlee.
