i feel bad for Riccardio, after that beastly season at redbull when he out drove vettel i was expecting him to have a WDC soon and then he out-alonsos alonso in the team choice & timing the mgu-h is a super cool piece of technology but i get why they'd ditch it, limited commercial application and I'd imagine it bumped engine r&d costs up by an insane amount are they still gonna be 1.6t v6s? alao did they ever find a way to make the sport not force taller drivers to starve/dehydrate themselves to near death to keep a competitive pace

Being tall will always be a disadvantage but there is a drivers minimum weight of 80kg. If they are under (and they all are I think) it is made up with cockpit ballast

But the complexity and limited road car relevance was cited by plenty of people as a reason they didn't jump in during the current era (Cosworth I think had a design ready for the ICE but didn't think they could do the MGU-H at all, and I think removing it was the thing the VAG companies wanted). Believe they're still going to be 1.6l V6 turbos.

Rhopunzel posted:gt7 was such a terrible game, waste of $60 ![]() GT has always been this, they just now have the budget and graphical fidelity to do it in a grandiose manner. And you literally start the game choosing between a Fit, Aqua and Demio, three contemporary pillars of the cheap JDM market.

And then you can only enter a series where the other cars are Fits, Aquas and Demios. And they're realistically the only other cars you can enter with. And the same happens with FR cars. And then Fords. And then Chevrolets. Until after nearly 40 times of being told exactly what car to use in what race, the game just goes "Ok done bye!" and you're left with a half finished mess where there's no real reason to revisit the races since reward cars can't be won again, so the only thing left to do is grind for Hagerty cars that don't qualify to be entered into any events. So you're reduced to just kinda driving around in custom races or time trials by yourself.

What I do appreciate about motorsport.com's comment section is that the posters put in spectacular amounts of work to ensure that their poo poo takes are contorted to whatever information they are presented with. If any of their bile and garbage had even an iota of intellectual merit, you'd have to respect it. Unfortunately, it doesn't and it comes off as an incel community specifically for the mentally challenged.
