ANALYSIS: Who is Alessandro Alunni Bravi and why has he now got a senior role with the Alfa Romeo squad?

quote:

sources say Alfa Romeo – who will leave as a partner at the end of this campaign – have a say in who the Team Principal will be for 2023. This made it trickier for the incoming Audi to put one of their selections in this role.

So, after some consideration, Seidl opted not to appoint a direct replacement for Fred Vasseur – who will lead Ferrari in 2023 – and instead, create a flatter structure for this season. They can then evolve it again next year if required.

So this Bravi guy isn't "team principal", he's a team representative, and I'm guessing he's probably only here for a year, until Audi can install whoever they want without having to listen to Alfa Romeo's opinion. Also says he used to be team principal of Trident Racing in F2, and he's a lawyer by trade. Because that's what F1 needs... more lawyers.

I’m not of the mind that digging up comments from 2001 is really germane to how he’s been (doing badly) as FIA president.

But it was a complete non-sequitur and on his homepage in the past :psyduck: so it’s very funny.

The more I hear about that project the less Nascar it sounds like the car will be. If you fit what appears to be most of a GT3 into a Nascar body, it's still a GT3 not a Nascar.

It sounds like it's going to be pretty similar to a cup car. Wonder how that engine would handle 24 hours

I would suggest you watch the World Endurance Championship this year as Ferrari are entering a factory hypercar there (which means ~10 hours at Sebring, 24 of Le Mans, and more 6-hour races) but the serious anorak answer is that they’re run by AF Corse who have enough experience to avoid too much shooting-own-foot moments.
