The guests started the day thinking if there was a conspiracy it had to include Monathin. And as they quickly gathered around Monathin ready to string him up, his defense was "yeah, there's a conspiracy! We wanted to murder a bunch of people, and I am involved! But it wasn't my fault, I was blackmailed! If it got out that I had killed Dr. Pereau in those cold wastes, I'd be runed!" Which was a bold strategy, for sure, but the guests were willing to hear him out.

One by one the members of the conspiracy outed themselves; one said he was just following orders, another said he was also following orders but said the mysterious ringleader was responsible. The supposed ringleader seemed confused, but there was no denying that something very unusual was happening. Yet, after all the discussion it ended the same way: the hanging of Dr. Kamila Przmysłava.

:s: Monathin, Dr. Kamila Przmysłava, Archaeologist (mafia-aligned inventor), was executed day 2. :s:

Every Arrentish child is familiar with the game of Hangman: secret killers have infiltrated an innocent village and the townspeople must hang their own until the "scum" are routed. Invariably the "innocent" townspeople lynch their fellow innocents without pity or remorse, yet the game is considered a success if even one townsperson outlasts the scum, no matter the cost it took to get there. It's all just a game of course. If it were real then countless lives would be shattered, hearts broken, and blood spilled all in the twisted pursuit of justice.

Seeing the esteemed archaeologist swinging in the main hall of the Junia family manor caused something to change within the outed conspirators. They turned to the guests and said that they didn't want to do this anymore, and now that things are getting serious they wish they had never agreed to the conspiracy in the first place. They fell to their knees and clasped their hands together over their heads in the traditional Arrentish sign of surrender. Then the guests did what they probably should have done from the beginning: they talked.

The mastermind, Helene Junia, admitted she wanted the violence to happen to give pretext to maim her own daughter, to prevent Hippolyta from inheriting the family fortune. The wealthiest in the room nodded in understanding; Arrentish succession passes quite strictly to the eldest daughter unless she is unfit physically or mentally, and physical incompetence can only exclude if she is unmarried. The others in the room were horrified, though, and rightly so: a mother planning to maim her daughter is a grave sin in every country on every world. Helene understood this, and in her submission she seemed relieved that the violence had ended when it did, before there was no going back.

With the conspiracy unraveled the guests all agreed that they were in no mood for a wedding, including Hippolyta and Robert. Briefly free from the influence of their parents, and energized by the spirit of openness and confession, they both admitted they just weren't that into each other. Hippolyta liked the idea of being married more than the reality of life with her would-be husband, and Robert had thought Hippolyta was a "total droop, if I'm being honest." At that word Hippolyta laughed and said, "yeah, I really can be."

Robert's mother Lydia admitted that perhaps she had been too hasty to find Robert an "appropriate match" with the Junias; she had assumed the wealthier the family the firmer their moral fiber, but "obviously I have made a terrible mistake." She admitted she needed to rethink a great deal of things, and began to make a prayer to Wisdom when she was approached by Sylviane. Sylvie reached out a hand to Lydia and asked to give her a second chance; Lydia grimaced, initially, but then, begrudgingly, shook it. Lydia admitted that perhaps she had prejudged her, and revealed that "of all the girls I told Robert not to see anymore, he had never bucked as hard as when it was you."

"Well, yeah," Sylvie explained. "We were in love."

When the storm cleared over the Junia manor the guests had all agreed on what happened. Irene Kontos the baker had a fit of madness and killed one of the wedding guests, as well as a servant girl whom nobody would miss. The guests then killed the baker in retaliation, and the stress of the incident caused Kamila Przmysłava to admit to having killed her mentor decades prior and taking her own life as penance. The Junias used their vast fortune to grease any authorities who would seek to investigate further, as is common in Ledola among the ultra-rich, and in time that became the story, as far as anyone else was concerned.

Boats were prepared for everyone to leave. Most would never again return to that cursed city, where the pursuit of wealth could corrupt the soul of an entire family. But they would never forget what they learned from the experience.

Violence only creates more violence, cruelty begets cruelty as people prey on one another until there is nothing left but blood and bone. The only way to live your life is with Love. Love one another, not just as you love yourself, but as the Goddesses love you. Be quick to forgive, shrug resentment and foster empathy. Be patient, be kind, spurn evil and rejoice in truth. In the Beginning there were only two Goddesses - Death and Wisdom, darkness and light - but together they produced a Goddess greater than them both: Love. She bears all things, She believes all things, She hopes all things, She endures all things. The guests understood this lesson, now, and carried it with them for the rest of their lives.

And isn't that what a wedding is all about?

ROLE PMs:

saladscooper - Elleno - Butler (mafia-aligned godfather)
The old adage is true: "behind every great woman is a greater man." It's not enough for someone to be intelligent and charismatic and driven, she needs someone to shout an order and have them do it. Every Arrentish child knows the story of Queen Betia the Brash, how she was on a hunting trip with an incompetent shieldservant and was gored by a boar. It's a lesson you've taken to heart. You are the Head Butler for the wealthy Junia family; the Junias are the fifth-wealthiest dynasty in Arrentia, and they became that way through the skill and efficiency of their household. As their Butler you are the sworn and obedient servant to its matriarch, Helene. Whatever she requests of you, you enact as if it were a commandment from the Goddesses themselves. You deeply admire your master: she is efficient, cunning, and ruthless. She does what is best for the family, no matter what. You trust her completely.
A month before the wedding of her elder daughter Hippolyta, Helene called you into her study for a conversation. When she finished, your face was pale, but you knew what you had to do. You assembled a team of devious plotters and invited them to the nuptials; the wedding must not happen, and if blood must be shed, so be it.

You are a mafioso! You have joined a team of killers whose goal is to stop the wedding by any means necessary. You win when your team has unassailable control over the vote, or nothing can stop the same. Your team consists of: saladscooper (Elleno the Butler), Monathin (archeologist Kamila Przmysłava), Referee (anarchist agitator Petra Berne), Ignatius M. Meen (Hercule the Coachman), chaoslord (Irene the Baker), and ??? (???). Together you are confirmed to share the same alignment, and can communicate OOT freely (except for ???, who can only communicate with saladscooper, and does not know your identities, nor you theirs). Your team has a collective nightkill that can be performed by any member in lieu of other actions.
You, specifically, are the noble Butler to the Junia family. You are well-known and regarded for your unfailing loyalty and obedience, and are admired among all the wealthy houses in the Empire for the zeal with which you do your duty. As such, should anyone try to investigate you or your intentions, they will always return positively: it is unthinkable that you would ever hurt the family.
Additionally, you are the only source of communications from teammember Tired Moritz (Helene Junia). For reasons known only to Helene, she has chosen to remain the anonymous leader of your faction. It is up to your discretion how much you tell your teammates about TM's identity - you are all confirmed to share the same alignment, but maybe there is a reason to keep it close to your chest. Every night you will receive a message from me written by TM. You may not communicate with TM independently from this message. Should you die, the ability to receive these messages dies with you.
You are a godfather and you are mafia-aligned.

NOTE: I will not provide a discord server or other communication platform for your scumteam; that's on you to figure out.

Monathin - Dr. Kamila "Kayprez" Przmysłava - Archaeologist (mafia-aligned inventor)
Thirty years ago you learned a valuable lesson about archaeology: history is written by the survivors. Back then you were a lowly graduate student under the thumb of Dr. Selene Pereau, a cruel boss who would never have let you leave her shadow. But then you organized her murder and got away with it. Since then, you have flourished; you are a superstar in the academic world, making discoveries in remote corners of the Imperia that have changed history books. Now you are mostly retired, though your fame still takes you on expeditions around the world.
A few weeks ago, you were approached by a mysterious stranger. He said that he was a representative from a fabulously wealthy benefactor, that this benefactor knows your secret, and that they will happily keep it in exchange for a violent favor. Your husband, Montperreau, had been invited to a wedding; your benefactor wants that wedding stopped, even if it means blood will be shed. He also promises a great reward for your help; under the circumstances, you cannot decline.

You specifically have access to a number of magickal artifacts, collected over many decades from across the world. You have brought with you seven such objects that you know to be cursed; activating them will harm the user, potentially even killing them. You may deliver one item a night to any player in the game. The player receiving the item will not know from where it came or its effects. You only have one of each item.

Your items are:
--- an EMERALD the size of a fist. It is extremely beautiful. EFFECT: the user is instantly killed.
--- a gold COIN, on the obverse the face has been scratched with an X, the reverse has been scratched the phrase "GIVE IT A CHANCE". EFFECT: the user flips the coin. tails: the user gets to perform a one-shot cop, doctor, or vig-kill (decided randomly). heads: the user dies.
--- a golden RING, with strange lettering around it. EFFECT: the first time the user becomes invisible (bulletproof). the second time the user disappears from reality (killed).
--- a pearl NECKLACE. EFFECT: no effect, but the user thinks it does something vaguely positive, wasting their time
--- a majestic CROWN of soft gold, interwoven with rubies and sapphires, with a single hunk of amber the size of a palm at the peak. Buried in the amber is a fossilized wasp. EFFECT: when the user places the crown on their head they cannot remove it and the eventual transformation is inevitable. On the first night they can perform one doctor protection, cop investigation, and vigilante kill in the same night. On the second night they are roleblocked and unable to perform any actions. On the third night their alignment changes and they become a Serial Killer.
--- a jade marble of an EYEBALL, life-sized and perfectly anatomical. EFFECT: the first time it tells the user everyone who targeted them at night. On second use the user is permanently blinded (loses any other night action they may have), but they are still told who targeted them at night.
--- a grossly misshapen human SKULL, with amethysts shoved into its eye sockets and linen holding its jawbone in place. It still has all its teeth. EFFECT: the user permanently "loses their voice" (cannot vote).

Additionally, you are in a masonry with your husband, Neverhelm (Montperreau). The two of you may communicate OOT freely. Neverhelm is confirmed town, but he is told he does not know your alignment, nor do you know his. Below is a fake role PM for a town mason with your flavor, in case he wishes to see it.

You are an inventor and you are mafia-aligned.

NOTE: I will not provide a discord server or other communication platform for your scumteam; that's on you to figure out.

FAKE ROLE PM:
Monathin - Dr. Kamila "Kayprez" Przmysłava - Archaeologist (town-aligned mason)
You are a world-renowned archaeologist; you have made discoveries that changed history textbooks, unearthed tombs from queens long thought lost, and discovered so many strange and wondrous artifacts that your many homes also function as museums of world history. Though you are now retired, you still give talks at universities and colleges throughout the land, and provide your imprimatur to every major discovery in your field. Recently you and your husband have been invited to a wedding for some blue bloods, and the couple seemed very excited to get to know you better. However, halfway through the ceremony the wedding was interrupted with violence. Now you must use your extensive skillset to keep yourself from becoming some future archaeologist's dream discovery.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
Additionally, you attended the wedding with your husband, Neverhelm (Montperreau Przmysłava). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, however you do not know his alignment, nor he yours.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

Referee - Petra Berne - Revolutionary Anarchist (mafia-aligned jailor)
The revolution is coming. You can feel it in your bones, you can hear it on the wind, and you can see it on the horizon. The world is a mess, and The People are finally realizing it. You were born in the city of Podłima to a family of merchants, and lived in comfort and security without thinking of who had to suffer for your prosperity. That is, until last year when you witnessed the brutal crackdown of a factory strike; the Workers only demanded to be treated like human beings, and Power killed them like dogs. When you saw them carry out the bodies you sobbed; from that moment forward you dedicated your life to destroying the system that allowed this to happen and called it "justice." At your university you met like-minded fellow travelers, but you sensed that their conviction was shallow. Only you had the courage to truly risk it all, to sacrifice anything and everything to bring about this better world.
Last month you were contacted by a mysterious stranger; he said he heard of you through anarchist channels, and he thought you would be perfect for an operation he was planning. Some bluebloods were getting married, and he had a forged invitation just for you. The mission? Cause as much mayhem and death as possible as revenge for Podłima. You happily agreed; the chance to truly prove your worth was too much to pass by.

You specifically are a zealot for the Cause. With your fervor you can target a player at night and barricade their room, enchanting it with a powerful spell, preventing the door from opening for anybody for the duration of the night: the player you target cannot perform any action that night, nor can they receive any actions. Additionally, there is a chance that the barricading will kill them: the algorithm is not known to you, however you do know that it is far more likely to work on players with a low postcount.
You are a jailor and you are mafia-aligned.

NOTE: I will not provide a discord server or other communication platform for your scumteam; that's on you to figure out.

Ignatius M. Meen - Hercule - Coachman (mafia-aligned brute)
You are a simple man. You wake up every morning at dawn. You eat the same breakfast - bread and water - and then begin your labors. When finished at sundown you return home, eat the same dinner - soup with more bread - and fall asleep. You learned the value of a schedule after your time incarcerated; it made it easier to keep your head down, but when you were freed you found the outside world was so chaotic that without a regimen you felt your sanity leave you. Your diligence has done you well. Once a convicted murderer, you are now a coachman for a powerful house. You get a steady wage and the respect that comes from your position. However, you are obedient to a fault: when your master Elleno tells you to do something, you do it without question.
Last week he approached you with an order. He said that the upcoming wedding had to be stopped, and gave you a knife and a command: kill who he tells you to kill until he tells you to stop. You nodded, and accepted your solemn duty.

You, specifically, have prior experience killing people, and you have the strength to do it right. If selected to perform the group nightkill, you can be assured that your kill will go through: it cannot be stopped by you being roleblocked or from your target being protected by a doctor. Note that in rare cases your target may still survive the night, but it would be truly exceptional - some powerful magicks must have been involved.
You are a brute and you are mafia-aligned.

NOTE: I will not provide a discord server or other communication platform for your scumteam; that's on you to figure out.

chaoslord - Irene Kontos - Baker (mafia-aligned goon)
Though many so-called "intellectuals" believe that alchemy takes many years of study to master, you know anyone can become an alchemist with ingredients found in their own kitchen. After all, what else is alchemy but transmuting base elements (be it iron or flour) into treasure (gold or cake). The diligent baker knows the importance of measuring correctly, of applying the right amount of heat for the right amount of time, of mixing and blending powders and potions into something delicious and beautiful. You are one such alchemist - you have dedicated your life to mastering the art of baking, and by every authority you have succeeded. You have received awards and commendations from the finest gourmands. You have been called to halls throughout the Imperia to bake cakes, pies, pastries, breads, biscuits, and cookies. Your specialty are circles of fried dough with sweet frostings; you call them "doughcakes," and you serve them hanging on copper hooks for an impressive presentation.
A few months ago you were hired to cater for a wedding, but last week your employer made you a new offer. You'll still bake your treats as planned, but also if you agree to assist with a plot to ruin the wedding, your employer promised you not only great wealth, but also the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to bake for the Empress herself. How could you say no? Of course, once you realized the plot involved murder and mayhem, it was too late to back out. Now you need to use your knowledge and skill to bake yourself out this mess and secure your future.

You are also a skilled baker. During the night you may target a player in the game and deliver them a baked good of your choice (with an emphasis on your fried "doughcakes"). Your baked goods are not magickal and have no effect beyond tasting good, but they do taste quite good, and offer you a convenient alibi during the night. Note that you cannot bake and deliver your treats if you are selected for the nightkill. Since your goods have no effect, your role is functionally "goon."
Therefore, you are a goon and you are mafia-aligned.

NOTE: I will not provide a discord server or other communication platform for your scumteam; that's on you to figure out.

Tired Moritz - Helene Junia - Matriarch (mafia-aligned rolecop)
The Junia Family, by your account, started twenty generations ago when Spara Junia opened her first fried cheese curd stand in Ledola, "The City on Stilts." By the time she died she had cornered the market on street food throughout the city, and her children continued her legacy with vigor until the present day. Each of them consolidated and invested the family fortune into even more abundance, and today the Junias by some estimation are the fifth wealthiest family in Arrentia (ignoring the many royal dynasties, of course).
You are Helene Junia, the matriarch for the family and the sole protector of your foremother's legacy. You've done well shepherding the family through many trials, however your daughter Hippolyta is another story. She has a very poor combination of traits: she is strong-willed and arrogant to a fault, she is impulsive but has poor judgment, and she does not respect that your wealth, while vast, is not limitless. You don't know where she went wrong. Was she destined to be like this from birth? Was there some lesson you could have imparted, some whipping she deserved but never received? Or was it inevitable that someday your family would have a bad egg, and Hippolyta was just the unfortunate victim of fate? You do not know. And until recently you were not concerned; Ledola's succession laws meant that you as matriarch could decide which of your children would be your heir, and Hippolyta was clearly unfit.
But that was then. A few months ago the Empress ordered the city to follow the same succession rules as the mainland: the eldest daughter inherits. You have been in damage control ever since. You managed to arrange for her to marry a respectable family from the mainland, and you thought maybe this would tame her wilder instincts. Unfortunately as the wedding drew closer and closer you realized it was hopeless, and for the good of the family you had to do the unthinkable. You ordered your butler Elleno to disrupt the wedding by violence. And in the chaos, your hired assassins would maim Hippolyta, disinheriting her permanently.
A matriarch must be willing to do anything for the family. You take no pleasure in doing your duty, as grisly as it may be. You are confident that generations from now, when the Junia dynasty looks back, they will sigh with relief that such disaster was narrowly avoided.

You are a mafioso! You are the enigmatic leader of a team of killers whose goal is to stop the wedding by any means necessary. You win when your team has unassailable control over the vote, or nothing can stop the same. You are aware that there are five other members to your team, and that you all are confirmed to share the same alignment. However, you do not know their identities aside from saladscooper (Elleno, your butler). During the night you may send me a message, and I will pass it along to saladscooper. Otherwise you may NOT communicate with him OOT. This message is untraceable (cannot be tracked or watched), and cannot be roleblocked or intercepted.
Additionally, you are the matriarch for the family and the key organizer for this wedding. Everyone who is here is someone who you vetted and invited. During the night you may target a player in the game, and you will be told all the information from the top line of their role PM (flavor name, title, and alignment + role). You'll also receive a brief description of what their role does and what their flavor is like.
Furthermore, you are here with your doddering husband, Hal Insandenza (i.e. Gaius Junia). The two of you may communicate freely OOT. He is confirmed town, however he DOES NOT know your alignment, and he is told you do not know his. Below is a fake role PM for a town mason with your flavor, in case he requests it.
You are a rolecop and you are mafia-aligned.

FAKE PM:
Tired Moritz - Helene Junia - Mother of the Bride (town-aligned mason)
A wedding is a beautiful affair - from the flowers to the music to the food, everything about it is so wonderful. Your name is Helene and you are the matriarch for the Junia clan, shepherding the family and its vast fortune through many trials. But through it all your commitment to your family is unparalleled. You would do anything for your family, and for the continued welfare and success for your legacy. You arranged your eldest daughter Hippolyta to marry a fine gentleman from the mainland, and as the day drew closer you kept having a bad feeling that you were forgetting something. When the day arrived and you saw your first corpse, you finally realized what it was: security. Now you have to use your wit to keep the family safe and together, and bring justice to those who would disrupt such a delightful nuptial.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You are also here with your husband Hal Insandenza (Gaius Junia). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, however you do not know his alignment, and he does not know yours.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

snooze cruise - Hippolyta Junia - the Bride (town-aligned beloved princess)
Today was supposed to be the most important day of your life: your wedding day. Everyone you know traveled from all over the Imperia just for you, to smile and tell you how beautiful you are, how lovely it all is, so you could see in their eyes how much they wished to be you. You wanted to feel like a princess. You are a princess; when your grandfather passes you'll be la Ducissa de Ledola, which in a way makes this a royal wedding. You had dreamed about this since you were a little girl. And now the day has arrived and it's awful.
You sensed something was weird last night. You had a nightmare that your parents had been replaced by skinwalkers and your fiancé eaten by a dragon, but you figured it was just pre-wedding jitters. Then the chaos started. First the flowers were wrong - you had explicitly requested Cazanese wisteria but instead received Arrentish lavender, like this was a funeral. Then the weather turned suddenly as an ocean storm swept in, causing the ceremony and dinner to be held indoors. You learned as you were getting dressed that your nuptial crown and veil had gone missing, and the maidservant who does your cosmetics is gone. Then as you walked down the aisle you saw there was only one musician (the rest unable to arrive due to the storm).
But you could have handled all that fine enough, you're an adult who knows that life isn't perfect and sometimes you have to accept it as it is. But you're pretty sure even Mother Katrina would have snapped once the murders started. Now you need to keep your anger in your chest (and your head on your neck!) so you can bring the murderers to justice and maybe, just maybe, your wedding won't be a complete disaster.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You are also the beloved bride. Today was supposed to be your special day, the day the world fell in love with you. But instead all you have to show for it is a beautiful dress and a pile of corpses. Still, as a symbol of the wedding, your survival is the focus of the town. As such, should you ever die, the deadline for the following day will only be 6 hours long.
You are a beloved princess and you are town-aligned.

Moatillata - Robert Prae - the Groom (town-aligned mason recruiter)
You have been dreading this day for a long time. They say that a wedding is never about the couple and is always about the family, and in your case that's never been more true. For one thing, your mother has driven away every interesting woman you ever met, trapping you into marrying a total droop. She's also forcing you to wear a traditional Mereaux suit which makes you feel like a clown from all the ribbons and tulle. You wanted at least to recite one of your poems as your vows, but your mother nixed that too - you will sing the Carita Divina and like it.
The night before the wedding day you had a dream of running away, taking a ship to somewhere exotic like Iskana or Chloedia, changing your name and becoming truly free. But it was just a dream. You knew you couldn't do that to your mother, to Hippa, to everyone. Plus your fiancée's family is pretty scary and might actually try to hunt you down and drag you back kicking and screaming, and that would be so embarrassing. Still, when you saw a storm come in from the ocean part of you wished it would be a hurricane.
Which, in a way, it was. The wedding was moved indoors to the Junia manor, but had it been outside as planned maybe the dire happenings could have been avoided. Right as your wife-to-be finished walking down the aisle you heard someone scream: there's been a murder. And with the storm getting worse and worse, the killer had to be in the room right now. Oh, cruel irony of life - how you wish for the innocence of just this morning.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
Additionally, as the groom, you’re a central figure in the ceremony, and one of the reasons why everyone traveled so far to be here. You also have a very charming and friendly disposition, allowing you to be warm to everyone you meet, even total strangers. During the night you may target a player in the game; you will become masons with them and can speak freely to them OOT until the start of the following night. You will not know their alignment, but they will be told yours. Once the masonry expires, your partner will join another masonry group consisting of all your former mason partners. You may not be masons with a player more than once, and your masonry expires as soon as the day ends.
I will not provide a discord server or other communication platform for your masons; that's on you to figure out.
You are a mason recruiter and you are town-aligned.

Idle Amalgam - Madam Lydia Prae - Officiant (town-aligned cop)
You've only ever wanted the best for your family. This world can be a cruel place, and there are many sinners who deserve the justice of the Goddesses. The only way to be truly safe is to control it, to take the chaos of life and tame it like a stallion. You are the matriarch to the Prae family and owner of Prae & Assoc's Trading Co., the largest shipping firm in the southern run of the Morze. You have strived to build a merchant empire for your family to ensure they have all the security you can provide them. In that sense you have been successful; under your tenure the company has grown from being a regional business to an Imperia-wide operation, bringing products from as far as Iskana to markets in Dromay. There isn't a port on the Morze that doesn't have a crate with your stamp on it somewhere.
But does your son Robert appreciate that? No. When you try to talk to him about the seasonal trade dynamics between the Gerzies his attention drifts to a nearby window. He has a weakness of character that you're sure came from his father; he feels emotions too strongly and wears his heart on his sleeve. He writes poetry about the slatterns and peasants he "loves," and it felt like you had to move heaven and earth to find him a suitable match. But what a match! Hippolyta Junia is the heir to the Junia fortune, and Robert would be set for life. But even then he complains - he says the Junias have "bad vibes" and Hippolyta is "such a droop" (whatever that means). The disrespect he has given you at every turn is almost intolerable, but the promise of having him settled with such an illustrious family kept you going.
But now the day of the wedding has arrived, and everything is awful. There has been a murder, with the killer still on the loose somewhere in the wedding party. You must put a stop to them, at least until the "I do"s, or else everything might be for naught.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
Additionally, you are the mother of the groom and an ordained vicar. You planned this wedding from the beginning, and tried to officiate it before everything went to hell. But you still remember every detail, every invitation sent and every seat assigned, every meal selection and even every song to be played. During the night you may target a player in the game and you will research who they are, why they are here, and whether they had anything to do with the murders. That is, you will be told if they are an innocent TOWN player, or a wicked SCUM one. You will also receive a small blurb about their flavor, which may hint at their role. You should assume your results are generally accurate (i.e. "sane").
You are a cop and you are town-aligned.

Circlmastr - Dorre Prae - Eldest Sister (town-aligned backup cop/doc)
You've always loved your little brother Robert. Well, you were born only a few minutes before he was, but you've been calling him your "little bro" for as long as you can remember. You grew up together, and for most of your life you would have called him your best friend, and you, his. You feel so proud to see the man he's grown into today. To think he was once the shrimpy kid you had to protect from bullies! Now he has a beard, he can lift his own weight with ease, he quotes literature in casual conversation, and he's soon to have a beautiful wife who will make him so happy. As you sat in the pew of the church in Ledola, watching your brother walk down the aisle, you started to cry it was so beautiful. But soon you were overwhelmed with shock when the murders were discovered and the wedding was halted. Now you have to be the big sister once again, find the bullies who decided to ruin a perfect day, and bring them to justice.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You, specifically, are the eldest child to the Prae family and as such you feel a sense of responsibility beyond that of other guests. While you are still in shock from the violence, eventually you will be ready to step up and be a leader to the town. Should a town cop-type role or doc-type role be killed, you will assume their place. You will automatically replace whoever dies first, and can only replace one. If both die in the same night, you get to choose.
You are a backup cop/doc and you are town-aligned.

Sporkchan - Sister Florens - Nun (town-aligned doctor)
In the beginning there were two goddesses: Love and Death. They existed in balance in the Void, each feeding off the other, until their energies intermingled and produced a new goddess: Wisdom. Wisdom then saw the Void, wished there was something more, and from her birthed the World and every tree and plant within it. Then from every plant and tree came forth every animal and creature under the sun, guided by Love and eventually returned by Death back to Wisdom's embrace. This is the beginning of your faith, and communing with the goddesses has been your purpose in life.
When you were a little girl your parents died suddenly in a plague, and with no more family to care for you, you fled. You wandered until you found a convent in the valley of Nolaisko, whose nuns adopted you as one of their own. As you grew older you joined their faith, finding comfort and peace in the daily routines of prayer, labor, and praise. When you reached adulthood you left the convent to minister to the world, learning white magick spells to heal the sick and comfort the dying. Eventually you made the acquaintance of Pereclesse Junia, a wealthy merchant, who asked you to become his family's personal cleric and confessor. You accepted; in your experience sin often goes unchecked among the wealthy and powerful, more so than the weak and powerless, and you felt like you could do a lot of good bringing the Goddesses' promise to them.
You were attending a wedding for the Junia family when two attendees were found violently murdered in a drawing room. Death has made herself known; now you must bring Love, and pray Wisdom guides the town to victory.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You are also a trained practitioner of white magick spells, the kind that heal wounds and protect lives. During the night you may target a player in the game and cast a protection spell onto them; if successful, they will survive the night, safe from harm.
You are a doctor and you are town-aligned.

there is only one hell:
the one we live in now
pinterest mom - Madrosc Sowka - Vestarche of the Noskomeia (town-aligned white mage)
The Imperial Bureaucracy tries to have white mages and healers in every city along the Morze so imperial citizens can receive free and high-quality healthcare throughout the Imperia. However, for non-citizens, they are left to fend for themselves, and each kingdom in the Empire handles this in their own ways. In the nation of Kerm, the Kyria and the Matriarchs work together to provide a series of clinics and hospitals throughout the land. This system is called the Noskomeia, and you are its chief, directly appointed by the Kyria herself.
You have dedicated your life to organizing health services efficiently and effectively. You are proud of what you've accomplished, especially your efforts to expand routine white magickal care to the poor through your "Work for Health" program. This was how you came to be acquainted with the Junia family; they provided the Noskomeia with generous grants in exchange for access to your indentured patients. As far as you're concerned everyone prospers: the poor get healthcare and work skills, the Junias get laborers, and the Kyria's wealth grows. But to you it was a business deal, you didn't think you were part of the Junia family in any way. So it was an honor to be invited to the wedding for the elder Junia daughter, especially since you knew it would surely be a wild party. But now that you are trapped in a spooky mansion with a murderer, you really wish you had been snubbed.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You specifically are the Arrentia fantasy equivalent of a chief medical officer. You are a skilled administrator, able to organize institutions towards a common cause. You're also an actual medical doctor, and when you were still practicing you were quite good. To that effect, during the night you may target a player in the game and cast an extremely powerful healing spell on them. If successfully performed, your target will be unkillable that night, the following day, and the following night. During the day any executions or daykills on them will fail, and during the night any kill of any kind will be prevented. They can still be victim to non-deadly effects like being roleblocked, but at least you can be sure they'll survive. However, the spell is too powerful to be received multiple times; you can only cast this spell on the same player once per game. Though, you can cast it on yourself, if you wish.
You also attended this wedding with your longtime romantic partner, t a s t e (Judyta Sofian). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, however you do not know his alignment, nor he yours.
You are a white mage and you are town-aligned.

Sandwolf - Stella Prae - Thrillseeker (town-aligned jack of all trades)
The world is a crucible of desire, and you're ready to experience it. You are the spare heir, the second daughter whose main role is to be safe and healthy in case the eldest is gored by a boar or dies from pneumonia. But you didn't appreciate being locked away; you much preferred being outside climbing trees, rolling down hills, skinning your knees and talking to animals. As you grew older it became harder and harder for your parents to control you, and now that you're an adult with agency you've started living your life your way. You have already done incredible things: you found a craftsman in the Livireen who invented a wing of wood and silk that lets you glide down a mountain; you swam with tamed sharks off the island of Rene; and you have used an advance on your inheritance to purchase a schooner and crew so you can sail to every corner of the Morze.
But first you must survive your brother's wedding. Your schooner's maiden voyage was to Ledola - "The City on Stilts" - to attend the ceremony, and you viewed it as a way to see your family and friends one last time before you began your journey. But suddenly there was murder and mayhem, and once again you're feeling trapped as the walls of the manor close in on you. You must find the killers and bring them to justice if you ever want to be free again.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You are also a rough and tumble adventuring type, which has given you a wide set of skills that can be useful in many situations. Specifically, you have a standard array of limited-use powers. During the night you may target a player in the game and choose to either INVESTIGATE them (scum/town results), PROTECT them from harm, ROLEBLOCK their ability (if any), or try to KILL them. You may only do one action at a time, and you may only perform four actions before you can do no more, but you can perform any combination of actions for those four times. (E.g. you can perform four cop investigations OR three doctor protections + one kill OR two roleblocks and two kills; etc. etc.)
You are a jack of all trades and you are town-aligned.

My Second Re-Reg - King Alvise Brutus - Il Dux Ledolam (town-aligned inventor)
Ledola: the City on Stilts, a jewel on the sea. In a former life you used to be King here, but the people revolted and now your title is largely ceremonial. Still, as Dux you had a lot of freedom to pursue your interests, especially your love of exotic tropical birds. You built a sanctuary in Ledola for parrots, macaws, toucans, cockatoos, and other feathery chirpers of all kinds. You bred them together to get new colors never before seen in nature: a shade of purple that matched the twilight sky, red with black polkadots like a spoiled strawberry, gold and silver feathers like the bird was gilded. You even learned how to enchant eggs with strange magicks, so the birds would have colors that could only be seen in the dark as they glowed with mystical energies. You are an old man now, but you are confident that your aviary will be your legacy.
Today you are attending your granddaughter's wedding; she will someday inherit your title, and as such is the next chain in your dynasty. You try not to play favorites, but she's you're beloved grandchild, and so you've been looking forward to this day for a long time. But now the wedding has been disrupted with murder, ruining her special day. Though you are no longer a real king, you need to step up and lead the town to victory.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You have with you an entourage of enchanted birds that can perform strange effects for their owners. During the night you may deliver a bird to a player in the game, who can then "use" the bird in lieu of other night actions. You have one of each bird, and can only deliver one at a time. You are generally aware of the kinds of effects the birds can do, but you're not certain about the specifics.

The birds are:
- a GOLDEN parrot, whose cooing soothes people to sleep
- a GREEN toucan, who can put small stones in its mouth and spit them out at high speeds
- a PURPLE cockatiel, who can mimic any voice
- a BLUE kingfisher, who glows in the dark
- a RED macaw, who has a craving for meat
- a RAINBOW hummingbird, who can fly faster than the eye can see.

You are an inventor and you are town-aligned.

b-minus1 - Lady Aemilia Peiraña - Merchant Empress (town-aligned inventor)
Life is funny, when you think about it. You are the owner of Lacenda, a vast estate in the Livireen, idyllic acres of fruit plantations over rolling green hills. You acquired the estate forty years ago after a dispute with your distant cousin who claimed to have been the rightful heir. You killed him, and from that violence grew your lifetime of prosperity. Today you are one of the wealthiest and most powerful landowners in this stretch of the Morze, but you never forgot the sin that started you.
One of your greatest customers is the
Prae & Assoc's Trading Co. Your estate is the premier supplier for the raw materials for the company's extensive soap operation; the peels of your oranges and lemons, the petals of your roses, and the lard from your pigs washes the skin of the Empress herself. Your close business relationship eventually extended to the Prae family, and you even became the godmother to their son.
Now that son is getting married. As you sat in the pew and saw the storm brewing outside you were overcome with a feeling of dread, like a cold wind blew through your skin. Death herself had always been in the distance, watching, waiting, and now it feels as if she's here sitting next to you. So when the murders were discovered and the hall locked down, you felt like something had finally come back around. Now you need to outrun Death if you ever want to see your beloved Lacenda again.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You specifically are the owner of a vast pastoral estate, and you arrived here with a queen's ransom in exotic goods and gifts. If you could distribute these effectively you could surely help the town. During the night you may give an item to a player of your choice, who may use that item in lieu of other night actions. You may only deliver one item a night, and you only have as many items as indicated below. You know what each item does, but your recipient will not. Your items are:

- (x3) a jumbo POMEGRANATE the size of a skull. Eating its seeds will protect the player from harm that night.
- (x2) a silk ROPE. The player can use it to roleblock someone else that night.
- (x2) a bar of citrus-scented SOAP. Using it makes the player's vote count for double the following day
- (x1) a bottle of BRANDY. Drinking it will cause the player to randomly redirect anyone targeting them that night.
- (x1) a SABRE made of Jaharod steel. This was supposed to be a gift for your godson; it could easily take a life.

You are an inventor and you are town-aligned.

toalpaz - Yiskah - Adventuress (town-aligned rogue)
Many envy the life you've gotten to live. Your story begins as a lowly constable who managed to outwit a monstrous wizard, saving an entire town. The thrill of stopping such a supernatural force compelled you to begin traveling the world for more adventure. You've slain monsters like a Ruzelian Skinwalker, a Bisadher Rusalka, and even an Arrentish Drake. You hunted down some of the worst brigands in the Imperia (and toasted many taverns with the rewards). You have traveled beyond the Jad'pu Wastes becoming the first human to see the snakelands of Sahalia, and their deadly games of sacrifice. You've even made contact with emissaries from the mysterious Empire of Byushcha and their magickal whisper-stones. Tales of your exploits are told across the Morze, and your published accounts have made you quite the celebrity in chic circles.
Your latest adventure takes place in Ledola: the City on Stilts. A close acquaintance has invited you to the marriage between the Junia family - one of the wealthiest in the Imperia - and the Prae family, who are ambitious social climbers. You were told it would be an extravagant evening, that the bride's family had gone "all out" to rival the opulence of Queen Circe's wedding a few years before. Yet so far you've been unimpressed, and at times even bored. So some part of you was excited when murdered bodies were discovered and the killer had to be in the room with you. "Finally, something fun."

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You are also a well-traveled adventuress who has been through scarier scraps and gotten out alive. You're confident that you'll survive this one as well. During the night you may target a player in the game; you will hide in their bedchamber, causing all night actions targeting you to fail. You will also see anyone else who targets your player that night, and steal any ITEMS that your target possesses. However, if your target is nightkilled the same night you choose to hide in their chambers, you will die with them.
You are a rogue and you are town-aligned.

Anonymous Narcotics - Sylviane Salt - The Ex (town-aligned miller)
Two years ago your heart was shattered. You're an alchemist in the city of Wayrest; you had spent your adulthood bouncing from man to man never finding the right one. That is, until you met Robert. You were at a tavern with your friends celebrating some occasion or another when you locked eyes with him. He was sitting alone in the corner looking idly across the crowd; he smiled, blushed, and looked away. From that moment you knew: he was the one.
You loved how he wrote poetry to express his feelings. You loved the way he smelled in the morning. You loved his hair, his eyes, his voice, his arms. You loved the way he made you feel; like you were real, like you were present on this earth, but that you were also safe. Before long you couldn't imagine life without him.
You were together for a year before you proposed. He said he wanted to accept, but he couldn't without his family's approval. You arranged to meet his mother at your favorite bakery over coffee, but you showed up hung over from the night before and made a fool of yourself. She forced Robert to break up with you, and you hadn't seen or heard from him since.
That is, until you received a forged invitation to his wedding with an attached note: "get him back." You don't know who sent it, and it felt like a trap, but you decided to attend. Even if you couldn't stop it from happening, you could at least make a scene, which would really piss off his mother.
Now you're here and before you could speak up at the "does anybody have any objections" part, the event was disrupted by a grisly murder. You're trapped with a bunch of people who, if they knew who you were, would assume you did it to ruin the day. You've got to get out of here alive, and maybe, just maybe, you can take Robert with you.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You specifically are the jilted ex to the groom. You came here to spoil the day and maybe win him back, but now that it's been disrupted by murder you're afraid there's a target on your back. You just know that, if anyone investigates you at night, you would turn up SCUM. But you're innocent, and if only you could find some way to talk to Robert you could explain. If only there was some way...
You are a miller and you are town-aligned.

Rhymes With Clue - Esperanza Leon - Bodyguard (town-aligned elite bodyguard)
You've been charged to protect the Prae family for decades. You used to be a Bottle Knight, those soldiers in the legion who protect the hinterland from horrors beyond the imagination, like Ruzelian skinwalkers and Charnal sand devils. But since you were discharged, the biggest monster you've slain was a stray dog with rabies that tried to bite one of the Prae girls. Being their bodyguard has been a relatively sleepy job, since the Praes are wealthy enough to hire you with a good wage, but not so wealthy that they are targeted by brutes and brigands for ransom. In the time you've known the family you have become a kind of second mother figure to them, helping the children grow into adulthood with confidence and strength of character. Now you are at the wedding for their only son Robert, but it has been marred with violence and death. The monsters responsible are still on the prowl, hunting their next victim. You must stop them.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You are also a skilled soldier and bodyguard, dedicated to protecting the Prae family from harm. As a former Bottle Knight you know how it feels to be "bottled in" a closed space with enemies all around; luckily you're still able to fight back. During the night you may target a player in the game to protect; if the player is targeted for a kill, you will kill the killer instead. Additionally, the first time you do successfully protect someone at night, you'll survive the encounter. But the second time you'll absorb the kill instead and surely die. Likewise, if you are directly targeted for a nightkill, you will die. (That is, you have a context-limited one-shot bulletproof passive ability.)
You are an elite bodyguard and you are town-aligned.

hambeet - Ema Vliada - Musician (town-aligned nexus)
To you, music is more dangerous than war. You reason that your violin bow has broken more hearts than a general's sword, since someone killed in battle dies once, but a lover can be shattered a thousand times. You have known the power of music all your life; as a kid you wrote songs on your lute about star-crossed romantics who part ways never to see each other again. As an adult you were enrolled into the Queen's Conservatory, dedicating your life to mastering the art of the violin. You found it was a perfect instrument for the kind of music you liked to play. That is, most performers gauge their success by applause, but you measure by how many eyes grow misty. Your first public performance was for the notoriously stoic Empress Cornelia the Quiet, and when you caused her to shed a tear, you knew you had the gift.
You've been the musician-in-residence for the royal family for decades, and it has been a very prosperous life. You've written symphonies that are so full of sadness that it is like Death herself enters the room. You've composed songs that can be heard at closing time in taverns across the Morze. On rare occasions you write something full of Love, even though Love is something you don't believe in. However the spirit moves you, you've had the freedom to pursue it.
Today you are in the city of Ledola, and you have been hired to play for a wedding between two wealthy scions. You had a list of songs you intended to play, sentimental enough to satisfy your employer but with a tinge of sadness to bring out the handkerchiefs. Yet, almost as soon as it started, the ceremony was stopped with the discovery of a murder. Will this be your final show? Or will you live to record this day in song?

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
Additionally you are by any account the most skilled violinist in the world. Your mastery of your instrument is absolute, and if you wanted you are sure you could hypnotize people with the power of your song. During the night you may play your violin; this will attract every single night action to you instead of their intended targets. Those performing their night actions will be aware they have been redirected to you and receive the appropriate results (e.g. a sane cop would be told they were redirected to you and that you were TOWN). However, you may only do this once - your magic is only so strong.
You are a nexus and you are town-aligned.

Neverhelm - Montperreau Przmysłava - Attorney (town-aligned mason)
You are a neat and orderly man. You believe that there is a place for everything and everything in its place; this has allowed you to be remarkably efficient when handling your affairs and the affairs of others. Which is essential, because your only clients are otherwise an absolute mess. You are the personal attorney for the Junia family, and their vast wealth is held up by your sound investments and accurate recordkeeping. The only guidance they give you comes in the form of vague proclamations, like "I'm feeling ships. Let's do ships now." So, you research shipbuilding firms in Ledola and purchase shares in the most profitable ones, returning their investment sevenfold within a decade. It's something you're good at, but still, you could really use a break. When you learned that the daughter was getting married you were relieved; the paperwork for a wedding is fairly simple, and you can spend the evening drinking wine and dancing. It's a shame about the murders, though. There truly is no rest for the weary.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You attended the wedding alongside your wife, Monathin (Kamila Przmysłava). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, though you do not know his alignment, nor he yours.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

Hal Insandenza - Gaius Junia - Father of the Bride (town-aligned mason)
Oh dear, oh dear. This is not good at all. You are Gaius Junia, the father of the bride, and you realized months ago that you were in over your head as you tried to plan the wedding. You wanted everything to be perfect for your little girl, because you knew how important this day was for her, but you never knew how much planning was required! Between the caterers and the florists and the bakers and the waiters and the venue and the guest list and the food and the drinks, it was all far too much to keep track, and you were certain you had forgotten something catastrophic that would ruin the day. Unfortunately, you were right: you forgot to hire security. Just as the wedding began one of the guests discovered that two others had been brutally murdered, and the killer had to be still in the room. You must do what you can to save the day, bring the killers to justice, and let your baby girl have the day she deserves.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You attended the wedding with your wife, Tired Moritz (Helene Junia). The two of you may speak freely OOT, however you do not know his alignment, nor he yours.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

t a s t e - Anthypate Judyta Sofian - Chief Bureaucrat (town-aligned mason)
The Empire of Arrentia spans multiple kingdoms and crosses vast seas. There are two ways the Empress maintains control over such disparate territories; the first is with her legions, who can be found in force near every major city. But the second is through the vast imperial bureaucracy that keeps track of taxes, records the population, and enforces Arrentish Law in otherwise backwards lands. You are an Anthypate, an appointment granted to you by the Kyria in recognition of your lifetime of loyal service to the Empire and to the bureaucracy that maintains it. You've spent forty years advancing through the ranks, doing your duty with zeal, and now you are one of the most powerful people in the region. Your knowledge of administrative codes and proper paperwork means from your office you could, with the stroke of a pen, establish a new city, build a school, or destroy a village, all on the same form.
However, in this moment you feel quite powerless. You were the "+1" for your wife attending a wedding, but it's been halted by the discovery of a murderer in your midst. Now you have to metaphorically file a Form 97-B4 and requisition yourself a chance to get out of here alive!

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
Additionally, you are attending this wedding with your common law spouse and longtime partner pinterest mom (Madrosc Sowka). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, however you do not know his alignment, nor he yours.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

Windward Away - Selene Prae - Mother-to-Be (town-aligned mason)
You had never seen a dead body before. You grew up knowing the world was a dangerous place, where monsters could lurk behind any shadow, but you thought blood and death only happened in the distant corners of the Empire, and the worst you'd ever see is someone drunk on a holy day. You have lived a wonderfully sheltered life until now, and you wish you could go back.
You are Selene, the youngest child of the Prae family, but you're no baby - you have a husband, a profession, and a child on the way. You are training to be a midwife, and when you discovered you were pregnant you were excited, not just for the usual reason but because it'd be great practice. How can you help another through childbirth if you've never been through it yourself? As the day grew closer and you grew larger, you felt your soul changing as it split into two, shared with the creature inside you. You always knew this was miraculous, and you felt so full of love and light as you prepared for the coming of your child.
But now you're terrified in ways you had never been. You're at your brother's wedding, and you were pleased that he finally found someone suitable to marry. And the bride looked so beautiful too. You wanted the day to be perfect, so when you walked by a closed door and heard what sounded like ~canoodling~ inside, you opened it suddenly hoping to catch them in the act. Instead you saw a figure holding a bloodied knife standing over mangled corpses. The figure ran out another door and you screamed in shock. Now you need to bring the killer to justice and stay alive, not just for you, but for your baby as well.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You attended the wedding with your husband, Nep-Nep (Guillaume Prae). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, and you are both confirmed town.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

Nep-Nep - Guillaume "Gilly" Prae - Brother-in-Law (town-aligned mason)
Times like this you wish you could have a drink. Your name is Guillaume, but your friends call you Gilly. In your younger years you were the life of every party you attended: down a few drinks and the night would fade away, replaced by fuzzy memories of laughing, dancing, and nocturnal misadventures. But when you met your future wife Selene she told you that drunkenness was a sin, and that if you wanted to marry her and be right by her you would give it up. It was hard, of course, your "bros" thought you had become very boring, and for a few weeks you found your hands jittering and your thoughts drifting. But eventually it passed, and now with the love of your life in your arms and a child on the way you have never been happier.
That is, until today. You're at your brother-in-law's wedding, eyeing uncomfortably the kegs of wine in the reception area, but the ceremony was halted when your wife discovered that a murderer was in the room. Your stress is starting to skyrocket, and all you can think is how a shot of brandy would be so good right now.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
Additionally you have attended this wedding with your wife, Windward Away (Selene Prae). The two of you may communicate freely OOT, and you are both confirmed town.
You are a mason and you are town-aligned.

birdstrike - Carmen Bracchia - Matron of Honor (town-aligned vanilla)
You've known Hippolyta Junia for almost ten years. You met at secondary school when you were tall, blonde, and beautiful while she was short and pudgy with messy hair. You liked how she looked at you reverently, hanging onto your every word and doing everything you told her to do. In retrospect it wasn't a healthy dynamic, but you were young and insecure, and since everyone got something out of the relationship you thought it was probably fine. Then as you grew older things shifted; your hair never fell in quite the same way, your cheeks lost their luster, and you had to wear thick spectacles to correct your deteriorating vision. Conversely Hippolyta had a glow up: when you both returned home from university your roles had completely switched. As the years went by the envy kept growing, and the more irrational part of your mind thought Hippa had somehow cast some kind of spell to suck the beauty from you. But you had enough sense at least not to nurture it.
Now you're the matron of honor for her wedding. As you watched her get dressed, with the sunlight from the window gently caressing the lace of her gown, you wished something awful would happen to ruin the day, as some kind of misguided karmic balancing. Though, once the murders were discovered, you felt so ashamed. Now you need to do whatever you can to fix your best friend's wedding and hope it's enough to make up for your cruel thoughts.

You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You have no outstanding abilities or powers.
You are a vanilla and you are town-aligned.

shwinnebego - Constance - Servant (town-aligned vanilla)
The world doesn't care for the lowly. That's always been true, like definitionally, but it's certainly been true for you. You spent your youth in an urchin gang in the city of Rossetia; you don't have any memory of your parents, as the gang claimed to have found you as a baby in a sewer during a nightly patrol. But the gang was your family, your brothers and sisters all working together to scrape by at the bottom of society. You'd still be with them, too, if it hadn't been for that, misunderstanding with the constables a few years ago. You didn't want to get pinched for a crime you didn't do, so you snuck on board a boat headed to Ledola: The City on Stilts, in the hopes of finding a better life. Today you are a maidservant for a wealthy family, with a steady wage, a roof over your head, and a warm fire in your room. What more could you ask for? Not being murdered, perhaps: you were serving a wedding for the master of the house when fresh corpses were discovered in a drawing room. You need to do what you can to stop the killers in your midst and preserve the life you have built for yourself.
You are a townie. You seek to stop the violence that has plagued this wedding, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated.
You have no outstanding abilities or powers.
You are a vanilla and you are town-aligned.

You decide tonight you will play something new; it was something you've been writing for a while now, but which you've never before performed to others. You've tentatively called it "Concerto for a Lost Love," but that feels too purple for your taste. Still, a song isn't a title - a song is the music. You open your door wide to let it echo throughout the manor, and with a brief prayer to Wisdom you begin.

You have successfully used your nexus power tonight.

You sneak through the halls of the manor trying to find binus's room, when suddenly you hear the most enchanting music. It echoes through the dark corridors in a haunting melody, and before you know it you find yourself heading to its source rather than your desired target. You take each step as if in a trance, the unfamiliar estate becoming as comfortable to you as your childhood home in Belatrop. Finally you see the source: hambeet playing a stringed instrument that you believe is called a "violin." Now that you're here you try to slip into his room, if only to get a personal and private performance, but you cannot get closer. It is as if you are trudging through mud, or since the music is so sweet, honey. But also can you not pull yourself away, so captivated you are by the beauty. When the performance finishes hambeet's door slams shut, as if closed by a powerful gale, and now it is too late in the night to spy properly. You return to your room and go to sleep, the song of the night coloring your dreams with sadness and life.

The purple cockatiel is named Xavier; purple is a rare mutation in cockatiels, and breeding two purples together produced a whole progeny of purple parakeets. You coo it to sleep and cover its cage with a small cloth, ready to deliver it to Tired Moritz. However as soon as you leave your room you hear the most enchanting music; it is something so mournful and so alive all at once, like a songbird that has lost its love, or a parrot mimicking a sad poet. You decide then and there that whoever could play something so beautiful deserves your bird instead. You walk through the dark corridors of the manor in a trance, desiring to be as close as possible to the music, to experience it fully. Then you see: it's hambeet playing a violin. You try to get closer to make the delivery, but you feel like you're walking through a field of honey, so heavy do your footsteps become. And yet you cannot leave - how could you abandon something so divine. When the performance finishes hambeet's door slams closed, and you are left feeling empty inside. You return to your room, bird in hand, and ready for the dawn.

You try to approach pmom's room when you hear music echoing through the manor. It's sad and beautiful, mournful and alive. It stirs within you feelings of love and loss, of mania and mayhem, of death and desire. You cannot help but see from where it's coming. You walk through the dark corridors of the manor in a trance, floating on air as if each note is a step stone to paradise. Eventually you find the source: hambeet playing a violin. You try to get closer, to speak with him, to develop a connection to someone who can produce such beautiful music. But you can't. Literally, you can't - it's as if there's an invisible wall preventing you from getting any closer, but the music is so enchanting you cannot leave. Once the performance is finished hambeet's door suddenly slams shut as if forced by a violent gale. You're not befriending anyone tonight.

You are about to guard Sandwolf's door tonight when suddenly you hear music echoing through the halls of the manor. It's so sad and so beautiful that it reminds you of past times: of soldiers lost in combat, of lovers who love no more, of sunny summer days marred with rain. You start walking to Sandwolf's room, but the music is just too compelling; you have to see where it's coming from. You walk through the dark corridors of the manor in a trance, eventually discovering the source: the music is coming from hambeet's room. But as you try to get closer you feel your legs get heavy and sluggish. You are reminded of the time you fought a Preyworm, whose nest is so thick with its honey that it's like trudging through mud. And yet you cannot pull yourself away, so captivated you are with the music. Unable to go forward and unable to leave you decide to enjoy the enchanting performance.

The Crown of Coromandel. an ancient Aranian king, is the most prized artifact from your Cursed Collection. The legend goes the king was deposed by his arrogant younger brother, and in revenge the king used dark magicks to turn himself into a lich so as to outlive his brother and someday return to the throne. But as is so often the case with dark magicks, it ended poorly for him: as soon as he placed the crown on his head the magicks overtook him, and he became a deformed half-man half-wasp monstrosity. His followers trapped him in his tomb, which remained unopened for a thousand years... until you came along, slew the shambling corpse that was once a king, and stole his treasure. And now for the first time you will unleash his fury back into the world.

You wrap it in thin brown paper and tie it closed with a string. You are ready to deliver it to Nep-Nep when suddenly you hear the most beautiful music, echoing through the halls of the darkened manor. You try to concentrate on your delivery, but you cannot help yourself. You must discover the source. You begin walking through the corridors as if in a trance, captivated by every note of this melody which is so sad and so alive. You eventually find hambeet standing in his room silently playing the violin to himself. You try to get closer, but you feel trapped, not unlike a wasp in amber - you cannot pull yourself away, but also it's as if there's an invisible wall preventing you from going any closer. You wait until the performance is finished; hambeet's door slams closed, and you hurry back to your room before your husband notices you're gone.

there is only one hell:
the one we live in now
That's the game. I hold no ill-feelings towards anyone and I hope people had fun while it lasted.

My only note is that many of the characters came from previous games. This was sort of a season finale, and what better way for it to end.

Specifically:
Dr. Kamila Przmysłava from The Swan Song of Dr. Selene Pereau
Petra Berne, while not appearing in the events of The Soap Strike, was inspired by them to revolutionary violence
The Prae family was first introduced in The Cradle of Corruption, and Lydia and Sylviane were featured in The Many Secrets of Miss Sylviane Salt
Sister Florens is a Nun of Nolaisko
"King" Alvise Brutus was of course from The Election and the King
Lady Aemilia Peiraña won In re Lacenda
Yiskah the adventuress is a recurring character, notably defeating St. Leroux and discovering the the Clash of Crocodiles
Ema Vliada was the surviving musician from A Bad Case of Baroquen Heart
and Carmen Bracchia was a member of the cult in Pelicana Drama
