alright, gather round... I've read the game and divined that scum are: RWC, Keats and at least one other who has yet to reveal their treacherous hand. Good evening.

##vote RWC

It's not me, I'm just having fun with it. I also did have a good reason to make that "rolefishing" post. I am a sort of empowerer, which I'd rather use on someone with a non-redirection ability.

Also I am immune to redirects. So don't try, haha

I actually am immune from redirects though.

##Vote Infinitum And here is why:
Infinitum posted:What happens if I do this Funny vote that he kept on after the Green Wing stuff was over. Infinitum posted:So every time you vote for josefstalinator you get a post out of them? Another vote to "test" something, then it stayed. Now he is talking like he thinks I'm scum but his jokevote is still elsewhere. In addition, his response to the multiball thing was to gleefully let everything burn

Hi, I'm a pretty decent candidate for that (unless you still think I'm obvious scum, in which case you should actually case me).

Ignatius M. Meen posted:Hi, I'm a pretty decent candidate for that (unless you still think I'm obvious scum, in which case you should actually case me). I forgot I said that about you, but thanks for reminding me. I stand by it. A lot of the same reasons as Infinitum, you were talking about how funny things would be even if it was bad for town

A lot of the same reasons as Infinitum, you were talking about how funny things would be even if it was bad for town I think it's funny when insane things happen. If you think that only scum can laugh at the thought of incredible poo poo derailing town's game I have a bridge to sell you.

Johnny Keats posted:Funny vote that he kept on after the Green Wing stuff was over. Funny things are funny People aren't tied to this thread 24/7 You also know the above 2 statements are correct There's still tons of time left in D1 to do serious posting. Relax brochacho

Ignatius M. Meen posted:Hi, I'm a pretty decent candidate for that (unless you still think I'm obvious scum, in which case you should actually case me). Okay I was already sus on Iggy but this post has tipped me over, why would you admit to being a non-redirector and make yourself a target for NK Even if it’s reverse psychology and you are a town-aligned redirector it would be a p risky move with unpredictable outcomes favouring scum ##vote Ignatius M. Pro-newbie mafia/werewolf tip: Attack the argument, not the poster
I know my newbie status is on full display here but I genuinely don’t know what argument this is making so it’s very hard to attack it. Best guess is that I put too much effort into a post for day 1 and that’s a faux pas? Or my argument is obviously awful, but that cannot possibly be the case.
I do take your point though and will refrain from name-calling. Sorry binus.
Like if you think they're not really engaging with the game, with posting one liners/non-sequiturs/emoticons, that's a valid argument you can make. For example - At the moment my play is non-engaging, as generally what happens with SA Mafia games is you get 24 hours of 'joke phase' where noone really has anyone of import to say; the reason for this are that Mafia games generally have 48hr day phases, followed by 24 hours of night phase. You can absolutely infer whatever you like, but a lot of it, not all, can be handwaved away pretty easily. (See Keats voting for me for 2 joke votes I made) So what b-minus1 can do there, is basically laugh your vote off and make your case even weaker than it is, because you attacked them via name-calling, and not their posting style or try to win them across to your arguement. Does that make sense? (I'll try and keep the Mafia Dadding to a minimum, but we have new players)
That’s useful food for thought, thanks. At the risk of soliciting more mafia dadding, why is mafia dadding considered bad?
It's essentially me telling you how to play/not really adding anything It can be useful as a scum tactic cause it seems like you're being helpful to other players
In a game like this, is it necessarily better to clench a vote on the first day? More standard Mafia it means delaying while scum get the time they need to work out an advantage somehow, and the risk:reward of possibly losing a townie to outing one of the few scum usually being worth it But a game like this, rife with powers, if the town has a majority it also has a majority of powers to use, and since outing a townie is more likely than scum (and potentially losing a strong power as well), does waiting have a benefit? Or, on the flip side, do the scum usually get the extra murder abilities that once again makes delays be in their favor?

We absolutely want to flip somebody. Scum will generally kill somebody who was fairly uninvolved in discussions so we can't rely on that flip for info. Forgoing the flip d1 is a very bad thing for town to do.
Was about to vote for Paranoid nut remembered that he posted just like this in Camelot. It was scummy posting there as well, but he flipped town. Going to give a pass. Not going to vote Punkreas, Maugrim. I see Maugrim's point about Meen but I'm more inclined to see what happens there than vote.

Ngl I’ve been scrolling through posts for a while and nothing is really jumping out at me as obvious scum. Taste has basically no real posts and could be lurking scum but is prolly a bad vote for today
The same can be said about josefstalinator who I’m currently voting.
I don't particularly like the votes on Josef but without any content there I would go there too. I don't want to deal with lurkers in this game and I think Josef should be voted if no reads are forthcoming. I simultaneously think that scum may be seeing a possible lurker as an easy vote. I'll back off if he shows up, but his response to getting voted yesterday was to post contentless, which suggests nothing will come.it isn't good. ##vote josefstalinator

Oh we doing this? Johnny Keats posted:Funny vote that he kept on after the Green Wing stuff was over. ##vote Johnny Keats Didn't really like anything that was said here - Trys to pin me for what is clearly early day joke voting - Apparently I want to "let everything burn" where, regardless of me finding power activations personally amusing, I'm at least also probing information as a secondary consideration Why wouldn't you ask questions and try and suss out how powers work? Green Wing posted:The thing that tips me into voting for him is the fact he showed up after being voted for and still said nothing I'd normally go that a 'vote -> player turning up' is a null alignment read due to time zones, etc. But then they responded to me doing it and haven't been posting. So yeah they might be worth looking into as well as someone who is just lurking at the periphery
Maugrim posted:Okay I was already sus on Iggy but this post has tipped me over, why would you admit to being a non-redirector and make yourself a target for NK I was interested in seeing how Keats responded and what his oh-so-obvious case on me was as I wagered that would likely play a pretty hefty role in determining whether I end up reading him as wrong town or not. The case he has on me is a couple jumps away from 'vibes' which is extremely unusual for Keats; I wouldn't blink twice at most anybody else having an argument like that but I've never seen this out of Keats before. Would vote. As for the risk? If scum want to assume it's safe to kill me because I'm offering myself as an option for empowerment to Keats then I'm the last person who's going to tell them they shouldn't. By all means, go right ahead.

Green Wing posted:The thing that tips me into voting for him is the fact he showed up after being voted for and still said nothing Agreed. I admit that I have a tendency to tunnel lurkers as scum because in my experience scum tend to be less active/helpful. It would be nice to flip someone with actual content. But For now I don’t see any reason to move my vote.

Having played with you before though, I think it is just how you play. Just so you are aware though, I get pinged when you talk about strategy for voting that entirely disregards the fact that we are trying to vote out scum.
