I'm not retracting my points but I just feel conflicted and bleh about this. I'm gonna sleep on it, and when I wake up I plan on weighing other possibilities and trying to see if I still hold my previous conclusion or if I have a new idea.

There are legit concerns that could pin votes on me but my being less gregarious than most (feel free to meta check this) should not be a very good one!

I've definitely been more time-restricted than I was expecting this game, plus I'm still getting my Mafia sea legs and all that, making cases against people, pulling juicy quotes and all that

Normally I don't have questions but I do have one! Have we ever had a push against TM? Or a case that they're not scum?

Now I ask this even though I'm going to back them up as town despite the murder push on me as, during our limited mason chat, they were genuinely backing Illu up and calling Psycho out, but I don't have any opinions registered outside my own on them

In response to me mad that we apparently won't be murdering TM. This post is not particularly scummy in of itself, I think several people isolated my handwringing, but I think its emblematic of what Moat has been doing this entire game-giving milquetoast comments on someone that don't pin Moat down to any read but may switch momentum onto someone else. However, notice, Moat did not post again on day 1 after making the comment about my post, when the choices were between Schwinn (town), AN (town), and TM (unknown, but unlikely). There is no reason for scum to post again on day 1, if all the likely candidates (and possibly all of the candidates) were town.

Garbage

I mentioned it earlier, but I had reason to believe Moat was the one who gave me a hated stack.

Part of my gimmick was that I needed to find my guardians. I could search for my guardians as a free action by choosing two names. One of my guardians would give me a hated stack, one of my guardians would give me a loved stack, and if I found both guardians, I would confront them. I have no clue what confronting them means.

I picked Moat as one of my names because of this post. I got a stack of hated. I didn't realize it at the time, but because I found one of my guardians, I couldn't search anymore.

I think the fact that Moat gave me a stack of hated means that Moat is scum in addition to the above.

In before Moat gives a one line dismissal of my case.

I haven't suspected Moat so far but I'm willing to vote if the Night actions provide evidence for it - does your role directly support that the "hated" you got is necessarily scum instead of just flavor (e.g. is it a true town vs scum investigative role outside your character... arc, I guess?)

No, there’s nothing about my role that directly supports it is from scum. I don’t believe Moat did anything directly to give me hated-one guardian would give me hated if visited, and the other would give me loved if visited. I believe it’s a result of my action rather than Moat.

Looking at punk, I feel like they'd be a vote I'd choose if I had more experience with them, but everything I see in my posts I also kind of see just as possible to be confused town who don't know how to case or what approach to take. Punk hasn't changed style since which makes me think there isn't someone prodding them in the background.

I think YPM's case is good and given how low energy the thread has been in general I think that lower content scum are looking more likely.

Additionally while I have no proof, there are some things in my flavor that kind of make me wonder if I wasn't meant to be the angel on YPM's shoulder, but if that's all real then it'd be too late anyway I suppose.

THUNDERDOME LOSER 2019
The audience's focus turned to a man with brown skin, in a brown hood, wearing dark sunglasses and old, wretched sandals. "He's not from around here!" someone shrieked. "No, my child," the man replied. "I am not of this world." And with a great flash of light, the man disappeared, leaving only a wooden cross and a copy of the Bible behind.

Moatillata, Jesus Christ, TOWN-aligned Compulsive Visitor, returned to Heaven D5!

quote:

Being the Son of God can get awfully boring sometimes. That's why you descend to Earth and help random little girls have epiphanies about themselves. You're here today to support Marcy, one such girl, who you helped out during last year's Bee. At least, you think it was during the Bee - you're not familiar with how gymnasia are supposed to look.

You are Jesus Christ, TOWN-aligned Compulsive Visitor. At night, you must choose a player to visit. This visit will do nothing.

In addition, you have descended to the Bee to watch over Marcy Park, a girl you have chosen to help carry out your will on Earth. You do not know her identity, and have no way of figuring it out. If, at any point, Marcy leaves the Bee, you will take matters into your own hands (read: you will gain a dayvig which may be used at any point in-thread by posting ##shoot [playername]).

It is now Night Five. I am extending this night to 48 hours because, frankly, tomorrow's my birthday and I don't want to be bothered. Get your actions in by Monday at ~3 PM EST, please!

THUNDERDOME LOSER 2019
A man cheering on his daughter receives a text from an unknown number. It reads, "Hey did you know your husband left earlier." And so the man leaves, too.

Tired Moritz, Carl Grubenierre, TOWN-aligned Random Compulsive Visitor, has left the Bee N5!

quote:

Your name is Carl Grubenierre. You are 41 years old and have an adopted daughter with your husband, Dan. You run a bakery out of your home kitchen - it's not too profitable, but your husband is a bigshot lawyer anyway, so who cares? Since you stay at home most of the time, you're responsible for your daughter's "social growth and intellectual development." (You read a lot of books about homeschooling and that phrase pops up a surprising amount.) It's good for a little girl to be competitive; you have to train her to deal with this masculinizing world!

You are Carl Grubenierre, TOWN-aligned Random Compulsive Visitor. At night, you will automatically visit a random player.

It is now Day 6. Deadline is Wednesday, May 10, at 9 PM EST.

I feel that YPM has some explaining to do. Early doctor claim yet is still alive, hasn't managed a single provable protection (aside from n1, but it's possible something else happened). Was very engaged early on but has been significantly less so as the game has progressed.

I think any of that could potentially be equally a case where YPM has been set up as long game move by scum, but moat's flip and ypm's claim together make me think he's Marcy, and if so I'm wondering what kind of setup rewards a town player for eliminating the town doctor.

Right now I'm thinking it's YPM/Maerlyn but I want to hear out YPM before anything else. Maerlyn and Hal being scum together seems unlikely since that would imply they're faking a masonry which would instantly sink the other if one of them flipped. I firmly don't believe it's hum because of psycho's deal unless he masoned someone else d2. I think if someone alive was around to claim otherwise though that would have happened by now unless it was Illu, but if that was the case I imagine TM/Punk would've known and shared that.
