Microwave dinners were never good but I always thought they were palatable. This is no longer the case. Like they are no longer edible. I don't know if this is a new development, or if it's because I've been cooking well for a while, but I can't get like two bites into most of them anymore before tossing them out. Lean Cuisine Protein Kicks are straight-up dogfood.

I used to pick up some of the Michelina's frozen pastas, as they were a decent late night stack. They recently tweaked their packaging, but looks like they also changed the food because they are inedible now. The spag comes out like soup, the rotini comes out like drywall filler. Mac and cheese turns into a giant lump. Any and every time you see a label saying "New and Improved! Now better than ever!", that's code for "We have discovered new ingredients that make this product significantly worse, but it saves us 2-cents in manufacturing."

I don't think I've ever had a frozen microwave ready meal. But even chilled ones are definitely shittier now. Sainsbury's used to do some decent-for-a-ready-meal curries but they are now bland and cost way more.
