mawarannahr posted:asthma rates went up and there was some respiratory poo poo going around I think that we're just more attuned to coughing since covid. now when somebody coughs in public, it's something that my brain takes note of when before 2020 i usually didn't give a poo poo. Also, while asthma rates have gone up I don't think they were ever the majority of 'coughers'.

BG3 is what is going to bring furry / hentai into the true mainstream. I'm pretty sure this is a sign of the apocalypse in some religions. Everyone is too busy accusing obama / biden / pence of being the antichrist, but it's been a video game all along. Jack Thompson was right.

It was never about generations, all generations start out as young people and turn into old people. In 2050, if there still is an internet, zoomers will be using dead gay social media platforms to complain about the perverted, decadent sexuality of the youth.

Bought some tortilla chips, which have tripled in price in the last 4 years and repeatedly shrunk in size, and noticed that the bag has not only a viewing window--pretty standard thing--but a reflective back panel, perhaps to create the illusion of "wow, more chips."

This is something I'm unironically curious about - will we see this happen? Will the millennial generation get weird and conservative about social policy and the 'kids these days', especially around sexuality et al? I dunno. tbd on that I guess, but I'd like to think we'd trend to be at least a little less prudish.

The growing season was totally derailed by a cold and wet spring followed by a flash drought. You can almost use goons as a social barometer when it comes to widespread trends by just assuming the opposite of however goons react to things. We're living in the age of 'weird internet poisoned horny poo poo' being so far into the cultural zeitgeist, major international corporations are making ads out of them. Like it really feels like only a matter of time before we start seeing 'vore' used as a verb in ads. I hear it said as a joke often enough in otherwise 'normal' places plenty.

New ceiling fans all seem to require a remote control or an app or some poo poo to adjust the speed, whereas you used to be able to turn a knob on the wall or pull on a chain coming out or the fan.

my neighbors have a fan remote on the same channel or a compatible one to the fan in our living room so i'll just randomly see it change speed or reverse direction and make a noise, its really annoying and the only thing that works is just turning it off at the switch entirely

A lot of systems like that have dip switches you can adjust in the unit. Look in your remote first since it’s the easiest to take apart, if there’s a way to adjust the channel in that then you might be able to do it.

Millennials are getting more liberal with age, if the few surveys on the matter I have seen are accurate. Probably going to turn old and crusty at some point, but buck the trend of Xers & Boomers going hard right.
