Except Culver's. I'd never even heard of it until a couple years ago and it smokes everyone.

Guessing they’ve been swamped last few years as mail theft has gotten more brazen. A neighboring town had a carrier robbed a gunpoint for their mailbox keys, and a jerk who was stealing mail trucks got delivery totally stopped to a Seattle zip code for a week until they caught him.

Yet they didn’t do poo poo for me back in 2016 when my computer and IPad was dropped off for delivery at a post office and in their possession it disappeared at transfer station and an empty package (cut open with a razor) of bubble wrap got delivered to me a few weeks later with a note that contents may have shifted in delivery.

I tried to collect on the insurance I pulled on it and they wouldn’t pay out since I didn’t have receipts for the contents.
Like seriously don’t let me pay for insurance if you have unreasonable demands to pay out after the fact.

Then Navy Jag wouldn’t help me because it was another government agency.

Thankfully “5 on your side” news program spoke on my behalf to the post office general where the package disappeared for a few weeks and offered me 50% of what I had insured.

what the gently caress did she do to piss off both the IRS and the postal service?

she (and most of the oakland city council, this place is corrupt as hell lol) likely took a shitton of graft money from an extremely shady recycling services provider, whose offices and owners' homes are also being raided at present. no idea about the postal inspectors though

My leg hurts....
I think in some situations the other LEO agencies can call in the postal dudes when they really want to super-turbofuck someone with technicalities.

Like, a "business letter" was hand delivered and that's the purview of the USPS or something similar, call in the posties to add their book to the list of books being thrown to make people plea or roll.

Because we're talking about Big Graft and city councilcritters, I'm sure some fraudulent document got sent or someone forged a signature on certified mail at some point and that was enough to involve them.

Had a guy down the hall from me in college get arrested by the postal police for selling ecstasy through the mail. Apparently a lot of Fentanyl is sent using the mail, so I wonder if the Oakland mayor's arrest had something to do with mail order drugs?

“How do we know you didn’t insure a brick?”

You accepted my $50 for the $1k insurance and didn’t ask for any proof at the time so I don’t see how that was even relevant since I didn’t even have a loving brick at the end of the day.

Yeah, they may pretend otherwise, but it’s no skin off their neck if people insure bricks. As long as they are losing or destroying fewer than one in twenty packages, they’re making money on insurance. Unless you have a conspiracy to burgle the Post Office and collect the insurance, the house always wins.

Cook-Out rules. Double Burger, all toppings, no mayo, add cheese, tomato and bacon, sides of chicken nuggets and walking taco, and a Cheerwine. Bonus everything hotdog or pulled pork sandwich if feeling extra fat. Looking at the menu it looks like they dropped the walking taco. Unfortunately I have to cross state lines to get it where I currently live.

Lee's in Esquimalt? That place is great. One of two joints in Victoria I really miss (the other being the venerable Red Barn Market chain with their extremely cheap build-your-own-enormous-sandwich bars).
