And back to the Stargate bullshit, just noting that it's a whole lot of bullshit right now until they prove otherwise: https://bsky.app/profile/edzitron.com/post/3lgerdqv2z22d OpenAI isn't profitable, still hasn't demonstrated a way for their AI bullshit to make money, and they don't have the $19B that they need to kick into Stargate, plus money to keep running. Whole lot of people are going to have to prove they have money that they don't currently have.

They're likely not spending any public money on it. The grift is likely that Texas will probably give them the land or whatever on a tax break / tax deal, but I'm not aware of the feds actually shoving money into the thing. That's also why Donnie was able to introduce it so quickly - the Feds likely only did coordination work and everything else is with the state and the companies. Edit: this is a lot like Donnie bragging that he bagged 300 illegal immigrants yesterday. Of course he did - that's the daily average done by the Biden administration. He didn't actually do anything - with the bonus that he could be lying about the number or adding more nonviolent illegal immigrants into the mix because of the rules he dropped. facialimpediment fucked around with this message at 04:39 on Jan 23, 2025 |

Yeah that's probably a good example why the executive orders aren't going to get as much traction as most are dooming (legitimately!) about. That's technically shirking the requirement by renaming it to something else, which the OPM cronies want reported to that stupid email box and the DOJ civil division will be devoted to rooting out in the commercial sector. But nobody cares enough about any of that poo poo like Donnie's aggrieved idiots.

It's very possible he is a sharty, looking at the manifesto. Basically a splinter community of underage incels raised on /pol/ content that grew up like a cancer on 4chan around 2021 due to inexistent moderation. They started raiding other boards and communities until they got kicked for raiding /lgbt/ with transphobic memes and moved to their own site. They are still a constant source of annoyances spamming sites with alt-right content, anti DEI, transphobia, and trump content every day.

From the sound of things, this child was in contact with other individuals on 4chan who gassed him up and assisted him in writing the manifesto and planning the attack. It sounds like this kid was deeply troubled for a long time. The way in which he internalized racist memes against himself and his community is really troubling. What exactly is so impossible to investigate or prosecute about these types of crimes? Its felt like 4chan and 8chan has been a nexus for this kind of activity for a while now - are VPNs really that hard to defeat? Or is it simply that no resources are being allocated?

Grip it and rip it posted:are VPNs really that hard to defeat? Or is it simply that no resources are being allocated? Both, sorta. If youre using a good vpn service, number 1 youre not doing business with a US company because we have basically near 0 data privacy laws. Ideally youd be using a service based out of switzerland or somewhere where its a gigantic pain in the rear end for authorities to legally seize logs if they ever even existed. Good vpn companys will basically just not keep your logs longer than is required by law so while they have your credit card on file they dont necessarily have any proof of what youve been doing. Yea, if the nsa wants to they can totally get around these issues, but local enforcement has no chance.

Spiritually it's been dead since 2015 when it was sold and under new management it became the current monster. And it's best to not mention the other place that starts with 8. It's been bleeding users at a steady pace. It's so toxic that nearly everyone that was slightly decent left a long time ago. Currently Deplatformed by an advertising company and with a lawsuit from the El Paso shooting bringing the admin to court, it may finally die for good. I know some users that hate it so much that they created alternative small boards with a very different mindset: No porn, no racism, no politics, no harassment. They said something about wishing to meet the original 4chan users of the "golden, more civilized era", but I'm not sure if they know most of those are the early FYAD and ADTRW users (and a lot of them banned).
