Okay. In that case, you're a tough to play cop variation; an inversion of the cool and mostly legendary brutal cop that kills anyone who is scum-aligned while leaving town-aligned players alone. I would have held that to my chest and been at peace with either being extra cleanup duty on scummy reads or the cool guy who would if needed salute the thread as he went down to prove his weird cop claim and admission of guilt in however many other murders it took to get there.

This is possible but the idea I proposed above was in my head already as what I'd get out of it if I had it. I'm not a fan of yuming not seeing it as an inverted brutal cop because I know she's been around long enough to see some form of the way more OP original version, but as of yet that by itself isn't a smoking gun that she's lying.

It's very weird. This is a wologar game, though, and even that aside she's now got a shelf life that will rapidly expire if her target choices are bad enough.

One day I will proofread my posts well, but today is not that day.
You think yuming is a cop, who will kill every town person she scans, and only fail on 3P or scum, and you want her to use that ability?

The opportunity cost is so high for that. It's not worth it. Especially since if she's wrong town is down a player immediately, and if she's right we still have to vote the person out.

Yuming is a threat, though probably not scum.

But Iggy being okay with that is and advising she keep using the ability is scummy.

Exactly I’m never going to use it unless there’s a player that wants it to happen for some reason.

If she doesn't trust herself with the power then she can also stay home and that will be perfectly reasonable, just like it'd be perfectly reasonable for a standard vig to stay home because they didn't believe in their aim being any good. This is still, however, a game that is about social deduction, and as such I strongly believe that there is no game without reads, and because of that any talk about throwing away reads or acting on them comes off generally scummy. Being capable of killing people in a more limited fashion myself, and recalling that this is from the guy who ran Time to Get Vig, and understanding that I've got a nice glass house of my own wrt vig correctness, I'm not gonna throw "zomg, unaccountable vig" stones at her.

Even more than that, though, who the hell are you and what have you done with the guy who blew up wologar after he persuaded town to yeet scum because the shiny button still had to be pressed?

I was the guy who still thought Wologar had a chance to be scum when I blew him up!

But again, if yuming finds scum that means that nothing happens!

Ignatius M. Meen

Hello yes I heard there was a lovely trainwreck here and...

The more I think about it the more that post stinks. A standard vig isn't that much less dangerous than yuming's claim. It has the downside of not immediately killing scum, but that doesn't do anything about the other half of the coin where the town vig in question is just plain grievously wrong on their reads or doesn't care about them and is thus just as capable of irresponsibly loving over town as yuming is right now.

No? She would come to the thread and say "Hey I targeted that person overnight and couldn't eat them" and then they get voted out easily. For all you or I know she might even have a string of catches in that way and then the game is over easy peasy.

Also yeah, that's just it, if I had yuming's power I'd be shooting in pretty much exactly the same way, people who had a chance to be scum! If I got it wrong, that sucks, but if I'm right I have a scum catch right in hand just like a normal cop would.

A normal cop doesn't kill everyone they're wrong about.

Hello yes I heard there was a lovely trainwreck here and...

It's absolutely not a nothingburger of a downside, but that's where being accountable for her reads comes into it and also the shelf life part. If she shoots bad enough, she gets justifiably booted. If she shoots well, town gets to boot scum easier. If she shoots reasonable but wrong targets, that means that town gets to advance its own guesswork and hopefully boot scum anyway!

A normal vig does, though, and they pay the price for shooting poorly even when they don't have a weird exception to who their vigs work on that make them able to play ersatz cop.

Hello yes I heard there was a lovely trainwreck here and...

There's also another factor to this, which is that if I were scum I'd want to remove her for a lot of the same reasons I'd want to remove a town vig in general. It'd be enhanced by the fact that if there's a night with only one kill and it's not her, there's always the chance that she comes into the thread with a smoking gun and then I or somebody else would go down in flames. The most it could be delayed would be one day and that's only enough time for her flip to vindicate her, and then whoever she claimed to target is a lame duck for the night who's probably not going to get anything off successfully before dying the next day.

This game has been open for less than half a day. We have time to re-evaluate her if she lives long enough or shoots poorly enough to merit it.

Hello yes I heard there was a lovely trainwreck here and...

If this were Zoya I could be tempted to believe she claimed this just to see if she could get away with it. I can't really see that with yuming, though, and even if she's out to surprise me this game, that shelf life isn't going away anytime soon unless everybody forgets about it. Which, sure, they could do that, but you won't and I won't and not even scum know for sure we won't live long enough to push people into booting her if she fucks it up enough.

The leopard seal, also referred to as the sea leopard, is the second largest species of seal in the Antarctic. Its only natural predator is the orca. It feeds on a wide range of prey including cephalopods, other pinnipeds, krill, fish, and birds, particularly penguins.

I mean it checks out.

This is a wol game so I fully expect five people to have vigs and none of them to get used.
