Past Orion hummed as he walked around his well appointed workshop, a hidden chamber tucked away through an unassuming locked door marked ‘STORAGE.’ Jason sat on a wooden workbench on a roll of butcher paper, watching his father impassively. Orion found the file he had been looking for and pulled up the notes he’d compiled on Udyr and Ella Krazmersky those many years ago. “Yes, yes, as I remembered. Quite ingenious really.” Orion muttered to himself. “Using the memory of the creation itself as fuel for the animus of the spirit. Love truly inspires us to achieve impossible results, eh Udyr?” “Who is Udyr, father?” Jason spoke slowly, using as little articulation as possible. Orion jumped slightly, he had forgotten that Jason was still taking in his surroundings even with the low level of magic he’d imbued the boy with. Quickly he realized that must have just spoken to the quality of his work here, and he smoothed the front of his work shirt sans its usual colorful suit jacket. “Oh, no one really. Just another wizard, he’s lending me a little help on finishing your design.” “Is he like you father?” Jason intoned, not able to summon enough soul to imbue his words with the natural curiosity they indicated. Orion laughed. “Hah, hardly. He was something of a one-trick pony, you’re going to be much more special than anything he ever worked on, my boy.” “Pony?” Jason asked. “Boy?” Orion nodded impatiently. “I know, you’re still learning language. Don’t tax yourself too much, you’ll burn out the spark. Just relax, we’ll load up the rest of your mind soon enough.” Orion smiled at Jason and put a hand on his cold, wooden body. “You’re going to be unlike anything else in the world, son. You’re going to be living, breathing magic. I expect wonderful things from you.” Presently Miriam’s body was limp on the ground, slowly losing its color. Even the blood running along the pathway here was turning grey, the blood on the stone that had struck her had lost its hue already. Someone had thrown it from the crowd, it was hard to say whom. All her preparedness and foresight was only worth so much in the face of the unknowable malice and magic of this place. This place was not going to let them go, although there was still some debate as to whether that was a realization born of intuition or a decision made by those desperate enough to seek escape at any cost, until they eliminated the rogue elements in their group. The vault was made to guard the wrong things from getting out as much as it was from letting anyone else break in. Miriam was the first victim of this potentially self-selecting prophecy, but there was a growing unease amongst the group that she would definitely not be the last. A low static buzz filled the blackened skies as they argued there on the quad, shouting loud enough to draw the attention of a lonely, disaffected young man made all of wood, and with an enormous burn mark that had left a long, long gap from the left of his skull and through to where his guts would have been. A sound like furniture being moved slowly grew louder as Jason dragged himself across campus, his legs having been mostly shattered to splinters when the building had collapsed on him following his battle with Applebaum. The discourse on the quad was intense enough that they didn’t notice Jason until he was less than a dozen yards away from them. With a panicked yelp, the group started and back away, as he just dragged himself faster. Jason continued to punch his fingers into the ground and propel himself forward. He was trying to say something, but with part of his mouth missing it didn’t seem like even magic would let him speak under such conditions. However, the look in his eyes was not a kind one. The remaining survivors were not willing to take their chances, and together they fled towards the library. By the time they got there, the night had apparently continued its cruel arithmetic, leaving their numbers, and their spirits, diminished. please be careful about putting people at -1 today given we have someone with a secret vote who is very likely the last scum why was there only one kill? if grandi's town it's possible he & gulag both killed spork i guess, but that doesn't explain where scum went in that case, and if grandi's scum why would he kill spork?

I have 4 other people I'd be cool losing to and that plus myself is a good number given the board state. I'm fine extending that a bit more for today's purposes, though, because we've probably got a solid way to narrow things down faster than scum can escape the net if Illu doesn't have better info for us to act on (and assuming Grandi didn't take his shot, which I think is good since that means he can help progress the clock in town's favor). I'm in reasonable agreement with lih that Amni/Bif/Grandi are the most sus people out of my total list of suspects in the current game state, so we can vote one of Amni or Bif and then if we guess wrong and they flip town, Grandi shoots the other player. My guess between the two of them is... Bif. She's not as verifiable as Amnistar and she was voting with Disco, who has seemed quieter and less clearly scum attention-grabbing than usual this game, against confirmed town Kleedrac as a side wagon to Gulag early on. ##vote Bif

With spork and gulag both gone and the game still going, we have a problem. I have cop town results on schwein, amni, and taishi, but those are only as good as my unreliable flip. Still puts them ahead of the rest, even if they do keep posting like poo poo. I have a very hard time reading molly as scum after the yuming deal. Molly cleared iggy and illu, right? Lih and I have been pretty much lockstep on reads, so maybe she pocketed me hard or maybe we're both similarly thinking town grandi has a vig scan, which in a game like this I guess could be a remaining 3p? Mechanically, if there's one scum left we're probably looking at bif's miller claim and my flip claim as places for scum to hide unless there's a second godfather out there, and I of course have my own thoughts there. My own reads on people: Grandicap - vig seems like an odd role for scum to have, but then again, it's an odd game, would put them as the most on the scum side of the chart out of everyone. Bifauxnen - Has been very vocal in thread and leading the town against scum, Is a claimed miller though and probably should be eliminated either today or tommorrow becuase of that. mollyohreally - Got us Yuming, claimed cop, but turns out we had 2 other cops, and the cop claims they had weren't actually strictly cops and were things that I think scum could have reliably done, feeling less secure in them at this point in the game compared to earlier. Illusionis - Watched every night with accurate information, seems hard to put together without actually having the ability they claimed, but it's also possible that they have the ability as scum, and didn't have to do kills until this most recent night. Disco Anne - claimed cop, only town results, but correctly identified their item as stolen the round that Sporks claims to have stolen it. Could be a bluff/stolen item, but I am inclined to trust. lih - barring being powered up (but Gulag leaving the game suggest scum do not have artifacts if gulag was being truthful) did not perform a kill action in a night when a kill and doc ward was broken. At this point I think it's likely we have one scum left, so won't be interested in pursuing lih until we flip other scum. schwein11 - Cop result, flipped godfather, unless Disco flips scum I don't think it's likely they are scum. Meen - watch action has actually netted us scum, unless Iggy is bussing their entire team they're probably my most trusted player on the board.

I am the last scum A traitor who didn't get to be full scum until all of my potential teammates died. I went through the mental exercise of who I could theoretically get executed but don't see a way forward. If I could have killed amni last night, if he wasn't allowed to reapply a ward I had a snowballs chance in hell, but that ended my hope for winning. Sorry scum that I never got to bro with GG gulag and town. ##shoot Grandicap
