Btw, the missile that hit that battery in Kiev was air launched even if it had a partial ballistic trajectory, it is a different beast than a V2 or a Scud. The fact it was hypersonic made it very difficult to intercept. A missile doesn’t have to be a cruise missile to be a “real” hypersonic weapon. That said that Iranian missile looks very similar to a Russian Zircon which was only recently put into service.

As far as Ansur Allah closing down Israeli shipping goes, it's not really on the cards. Israel's two biggest ports, Haifa and Ashdod, are on their Mediterranean coast and each does 10x by weight what Eilat (Red sea) does. One thing they might be able to do however is keep Eilat closed to oil, which could be significant. Financial Times posted:Ashkelon, the most important of the oil import terminals, handles about 180,000 barrels a day. It is close to Gaza and was closed shortly after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel. No crude has been imported via the Red Sea terminal at Eilat since 2020, Kpler’s data show, while flows into Haifa averaged about 40,000 barrels a day. At least one tanker has apparently gone to Eilat recently.
