Smackdown is now a great comedy show with precisely like one good match a week. It'd be even better with more stupid poo poo. Lean all the way into it. I hope this Roman story just keeps introducing doppelgangers of other people.

It's weird how they keep making Buddy Murphy look good in matches only to make him look like a cowardly loser who gets beat up all the time backstage.

19/06/18 – Sanity: won fans over with chaotic performances on NXT, spent most of their main roster run not being on TV, randomly ended up Shane McMahon’s minions because nothing says anarchy like defending the corporate bosses, quietly disbanded, Alexander Wolfe is now a Nazi on NXT UK, Killian Dain is back on NXT and might get a second shot, Eric Young spends all his time chasing R-Truth around for a comedy title, FAIL

26/06/18 – Lio Rush: pushed out onto 205 Live with little fanfare, impressed enough to get called up to Raw as Bobby’s Lashley manager hypeman, turned heel along with Lashley, abandoned by Lashley after costing him the Intercontinental title only to be back with him the next night, disappeared from TV due to backstage issues, currently rapping on Twitter, FAIL

09/09/18 – No Way Jose: NO, NO WAY, NO, NO, NO WAY, FAIL

06/11/18 – Nikki Cross: debuted as part of big NXT callup, started with a big showcase against Becky, dropped into obscurity for months, emerged to form unlikely friendship with Alexa Bliss, pair are currently Women’s Tag Team champions, can expect to be highlighted for as long as she’s with Alexa, FINE

14/01/19 – Heavy Machinery: debuted as part of big NXT callup, Otis immediately regressed to horny caveman, lost their surnames, disappeared, showed up to feud with Daniel Bryan and Rowan for a couple of months, disappeared again, FAIL

21/01/19 – Lacey Evans: debuted as part of big NXT callup, established an alt-right dogwhistle gimmick, spent months walking out to the ring and immediately leaving, got into a post-WM feud with Becky that was even worse, beaten on PPV three times and has not been seen since, FAIL

04/02/19 – EC3: returned to NXT with big fanfare after refining his gimmick on Impact, debuted as part of big NXT callup, immediately treated as a jobber besides a win over a leaving Dean Ambrose, now chasing R-Truth through arenas all over the country, constantly looks depressed, FAIL

18/02/19 – D.I.Y.: called up to the main roster while still closing out their multiple year-long story arc for the NXT title, worked on the main roster as a team while feuding on NXT, Ciampa got injured and had to vacate the title before the climatic match, Gargano returned to NXT full-time and has been putting on epics with Adam Cole ever since, FAIL

18/02/19 – Aleister Black: absolute star in NXT with an NXT title run to his name, debuted in random team with Ricochet that was highly featured, split up in the 2019 draft when he was switched to Smackdown, now spends all his time in a dark room begging people to come fight him, has had three televised matches since going solo, FAIL

18/02/19 – Ricochet: also an absolute star in NXT despite a short stay, debuted in random team with Aleister Black that was highly featured, split up in the 2019 draft when he stayed on Raw, now feuding with AJ Styles over the US title, matches aren’t as good but he feels established and it’s still early days, FINE

26/03/19 – Oney Lorcan: debuted onto 205 Live, RIP, FAIL

08/04/19 – Lars Sullivan: debut delayed for months due to mental health issues, revealed to have made racist and anti-Semitic posts on forums in youth, beat up Lucha House Party for a couple of months, merked by Kalisto and currently on the injured list, FAIL (SO FAR)

15/04/19 – War Raiders: undefeated on NXT leading to run as NXT Tag Team champions, called up to main roster while still champions, THE VIKING EXPERIENCE, heat instantly killed, have been squashing jobbers ever since, will apparently never actually do anything else, FAIL

16/04/19 – Kairi Sane: most popular female wrestler in NXT’s history, emotional feud with Io Shirai was called off for main roster call up, debuted in tag team with Asuka because Japanese people, disappeared from television, earned a Women’s Tag Team title shot against the IIconics, disappeared from television again, lost their title shot when the IIconics walked out on the match, disappeared from television again again, what the actual gently caress, FAIL

01/07/19 – Street Profits: setup as the focus of NXT’s tag division for 2019 with title win, called up to main roster while still champions, but only to stay in the back and make funny noises?, totally not Private Party, WHO THE gently caress KNOWS

Worth noting that there are rumors that Kairi's contract is up in March, and if they manage to drive her off even with what she's stated her goals are, WWE is insanely stupid even by their own standards. She's not even asking to win major titles. She just wants to wrestle regularly on TV, and bring smiles to peoples faces, according to an interview she did shortly before the WWE Japan show. And I wouldn't be shocked if she eventually reveals one of her issues was the whole Kabuki Warriors thing. Kairi was brought up, it seemed inevitable they were going to win the titles from the IIconics until Alexa expressed interest in the tag titles.

But instead Vince takes her off of TV, and puts all of the focus on Charlotte, Becky, and Alexa. Hell, I would go as far to say that Smackdown is literally just the Charlotte, Alexa, and Bayley show as far as booking is concerned for the women. With occasional cameos by other women so they can job to the three people I listed above. And the moment Bayley loses that title is the moment she fades back into obscurity.

They've big plans for Bayley and all the Horsewomen between now and Wrestlemania.

Kairi is #1 on Kenny Omega's AEW hitlist. But I don't know where these rumours are coming from. Calls ups typically sign new contracts when they get called up to the main roster and those are typically 3 years long.

Point being? Not everyone here salivates over the WWE 4HW dominating both women's title scenes up until Wrestlemania. And Shayna being a millstone around the neck of the NXT Women's Division means there isn't much to do down there either.

I don't think its a hot take to expect women other than the WWE 4HW to get a featured spotlight. Especially since Charlotte ALWAYS gets the spotlighted feud. Her feud with Trish had the most attention from a creative standpoint, even though it shouldn't have been, and she should have curtain jerked or been placed much earlier in the card. The Smackdown Women's Roster is loaded with talent, but the majority of them get no time to shine. Because if its not Bayley or Charlotte taking up the spotlight, its Alexa. And any woman outside of that who may get into the picture is treated incredibly poorly (see Ember Moon being completely geeked out in her feud with Bayley).

Hell, they had an easy layup with Kairi winning the MYC and eventually becoming one of their biggest stars. But they hosed that up by constantly having Shayna go over her and never getting comeuppance at the end of the day. And until they turned Io heel, she was even worse off. And if AEW decides to pull the trigger and crown someone like Shida or Riho their first ever women's champion, it'll pretty much cement AEW as the place for joshi to sign to if they want to work for a major company in America. Opposed to WWE where your ceiling on the main roster is not appearing on TV unless they want you to job to someone (likely Charlotte or Alexa).

Anyway, where is this Kairi rumour coming from as it doesn't make much sense? Was it just a Google translation of her tweet a few days ago and that's it? I read this tweet as "I am just getting started" personally and look at the optimistic photo choice too.

I just wish that another women's wrestling storyline could be built at the same time. Ember is so talented that I wish she could get on WM in a singles match but WWE hasn't built her up, her character is so undefined and she could go with Asuka but that would require WWE making a callback to their NXT days which I don't have confidence in.

Congratulations!
It occurred to me, WWE is so far gone I’m not even sure what a “good” WWE would look like.

Imagine a world where the entire McMahon family gets raptured (including HHH), or if you prefer, bursts into flames. What does the company do to get things back on track?

Off the top of my head cutting RAW back to two hours and stopping the ridiculous 7+ hour pay per views would be a good place to start. I’d also probably look at making Mauro the main commentator for anything important. (RAW, all PPVs)

Edit: Oh I suppose severing ties with the Saudi royal family should probably be at the top of the list.

I'm not making a fucking QCS thread for this but seriously can we take a harder stance on Kiwifarms freaks like this guy, Jesus Christ seriously, you used to be better at knocking these creeps down. I guess ADTRW mods aren't responsible like GBS mods are.
The WWE Horsewomen are so damaged for me I really don’t care about them.

Flair is the John Cena of the women’s division and not in the good way. She’s almost always involved in title matches last minute without any really good storylines going into them. Sometimes she cuts a passable promo, sometimes she puts on an above average match but as the face of the women’s division she really doesn’t have the natural charisma to pull it off, in or out of the ring. I can’t even recall storylines involving her that aren’t attatched to the title belt.

Becky has suffered a lot from bad feuds since WM killing some of her heat, and hasn’t evolved as a person much since becoming “the man” unless you want to toss in the couple weeks WWE thought they could make money off the incredibly awkward on screen appearances with Rollins.

Bayley should’ve been huge for WWE but they’ve made her look like a total geek for so long and stripped a personality from her so she’s turned into a one note character.

Sasha is well, Sasha. The fans really want her, but Sasha doesn’t want the WWE, and Vince doesn’t seem to want Sasha.

Sure they’ll all get rehabbed and we’ll get a “This is awesome” chant once they stand off against the MMA women but WWE has sucked all the wind out of these people that it’s going to be less of a “holy poo poo finally” type of moment and more like seeing DX and NWO waddle out at Wrestlemania in a match between Triple H and Sting. Way too late to be relevant.

I should probably also mention that not everyone wanted to see Charlotte shoehorned into the Wrestlemania Main Event (which she 100% was, and viewers didn't accept it at all). And it resulted in an entire brand's women's division being completely hosed over in the process when Vince decided it would be a GENIUS idea to put both titles on the line, taking the title off of Asuka in the process. Completely screwing Asuka and another woman on the SDL roster out of an actual spot on the WM card that isn't the battle royal.

All so Vince could do Becky Two Belts...which he got bored of almost immediately and had Becky lose one three weeks later. They could have used the SDL Women's Title at WM to do a Charlotte/Asuka rematch, with Asuka getting her win back, and building another star in the process. But nope. They had to justify Charlotte in the main event, and Vince almost certainly got pissy at the ESPN interview as well with how they handled Charlotte's "accolades".

As DarkstarIV only seems to care about Joshis. And WWE isn't primarily about matches. A lot of the women's division is promo driven. A skill Asuka and Kairi Sane, unfortunately, do not have given their level of English. Likewise, Sarah Logan and Ember Moon weren't exactly blessed with mic skills either hence they are where they are on the card.

They aren't as popular as you think they are. I'm almost certain by time October rolls around, everyone will be sick of them in the title scene, shutting out other women who also deserve a chance to be the face of the company or in the spotlight.

Because if you are right, the WWE 4HW are going to dominate the division all the way until Wrestlemania, while every other woman outside of that group that isn't named Alexa will get little to no exposure at all. And guess what? That loving sucks, and is garbage trash. Fatigue is going to set in very rapidly if its those same four women in the title pictures from now until then.
