I actually thought Terra Nova had no vlook in it until I discovered that they bound looking up and down to the R and V keys.

Old-school keybinds are just the wildest things sometimes. :allears:

The guiding philosophy, if it existed, often seemed to be two-fold:
1. Bind every function to a key according to a mnemonic
2. Maintain a uniform density of key usage (read: spread them out as much as possible)

You cheated not only the game, but yourself.
But most of all, you cheated BABA

This kind of made sense for something like Nethack, but for an action game...?

I took a two week break from P5 and whenever I try to play it I just kinda space out. It's a fantastic game but god the length and pacing are absolutely borked

I feel like when I want to continue the plot I end up with 20 free days in a row and when I want to do social links I get a big run of cat telling you to go to bed days. I've enjoyed it but I'm glad I'm getting close to the end (I assume, I'm on the casino boss).

One day when they do a P6 (or when their fantasy RPG comes out) the game would really benefit from a more nonlinear story structure. It runs out of steam fast when the actual "main story" is so scattered here and there. There's so much good content but it'd be much more enjoyable being able to do it more at your own pace

I think i took about 18 real world months to get to August in persona 4. If I devoted all my disposable free time it'd still take a solid month to finish 5. Its just too much for someone that tries to play a bit of everything.

The problem is tons of good ideas get picked up and implemented in the genre but once a few games do them, gamers get sick of the mechanic, start talking about it like it's ruining the purity of genre and go back to complaining that the genre ever moved beyond Doom.

They made Crash move a lot slower in the HD version which makes the jumps in Crash 1 borderline impossible sometimes, 2 and 3 fare a bit better with it.

I was just watching the GDQ run of the original and thinking "that doesn't look like how the HD version feels", but watching literally the best people in the world play a game usually isn't a great comparison.

I linked this when it came up at the beginning of this thread but here's my personal example of it again:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGB0wfUHv0I

They removed all of the speed/momentum from jumping and (in crash 2 and 3) sliding, so certain jumps that were tough but fair in the original games are now so pixel-perfect that they're near impossible. Your foot has to be touching the nitro crates in this example to clear it.
