Considering this was all started by the fake linkedin page, which was made in advance and ended up being the source of most of the anger, the manipulation is really kind of obvious and undeniable right? Also I feel like the "local autonomy" thing is a response to the (several?) petitions calling for him to be kicked not off just the NPC but out of the Austin DSA as well, or to the voices calling for the Austin DSA to no longer be recognized. I'm guessing, anyway. It's not the best statement but I don't think its horrible either.

I know that "party newspaper" is kind of a meme at this point but this is a situation where having a journalist dedicated to unbiased coverage would be incredibly helpful. Not only for getting out accurate information about incidents like this after the fact, but having someone to vet candidates and report findings before elections (instead of relying on self-criticism) could help prevent something like this in the first place!
