Which companion did you guys use in New Dawn? So far I am loving Timber. Feels fun roaming the wilderness with a your dog friend. He is also great if you play as a sniper. I've been just sniping from high ground while he pins enemies down.

Also the funniest poo poo to happen yet was when me and my dog were getting chased by a cougar, ran into a enemy outpost, I managed to climb up a watch tower. It was fun watching a cougar maul 20 people while I was sniping to help him. I tried to kill it at the end when it was super low but the fucker just ran off so far.

I've been enjoying New Dawn more than 5. I appreciate that what story there is fucks off out of the way for most of the game, not always getting in your face.

Timber is the best boy and my constant companion.

I also found it much easier to hunt the monstrous animals when I realized the smart way wasn't to shoot them or blow them up, but just activating wrath and beating them to death with a shovel.

Being a melee kill this means you loot two skins, not just one!

The Boar and the Sniper fully upgraded are OP in the strictest sense of the terms. I use the Judge for nostalgia.

The dog's passive ability to tag resource items makes getting all the loot at every random location way less annoying, but the heavy weapons girl seems to lay down the most damage against enemies when it comes to actual combat. Like as you are walking around the world, you can basically just point her at any group of highwaymen and she will murder them all and you won't have to do anything. Hurk is great if you don't want to deal with enemy vehicles, but otherwise he sucks at on foot combat.

Far cry 3 is when it was just heading into the joyous fun times guns r cool. FC 4 was able to synthesise that with a genuine respect for the place the murder vacation takes place. That respect is... Reciprocated in FC5 which is wierd politically until you realize it is a french studio and Montana is just as far away as Nepal to them. Words

If you liked the characters in 5, New Dawn had some nice moments. I enjoyed it, but basically played the entire thing over a 3 day weekend my wife was out of town. Its worth playing if its on sale for like $10.

the saw launcher is back, but now appears to use CDs as ammo
there's a backpack system (including one that fires a barrage of rockets)
there might be some vehicle modding
maybe armor modding?

My main gripe is that enemies are far too many, and not hard enough. I hate driving on the road and literally driving over droves of mindless. I can't even fish in peace. It would be nice if combat is much lower intensity during travel, and maybe a bit harder?
