Well, from one extreme to another: FMW - Combat Toyoda vs. Megumi Kudo (No-Rope Electrified Barbwire Deathmatch) this is from the FMW 7th Anniversary show which is as far as I know like the best death match show ever, and it's also Toyoda's retirement match. It's pretty cool.

El Rey put up last episode's insane Lucha Underground Trios Title Tournament finish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRWZbLrGJIo This is actually the second of two matches - the three people in the ring just thought they won the titles in a hard-fought match and it starts with the heel promoter/owner Dario telling them they actually have one more match to go. The first half of the match is kinda by the numbers, but they're telling a story. And then Angelico happens about 6:20 in, and it becomes a thing. LU makes three stars, by telling three separate stories in a ten minute trios match. Incredible. Seriously. If nothing else, watch it for the crazyness at 6:20.

I was so bummed out with Dario announced that they would face another team, then instantly relieved when it turned out to be The Crew. Such a bummer about Ivelisse's ankle, but I'm so happy that team won. Now I'm just anxiously awaiting Sexy Star to pull out some more victories over main dudes and wind up the LU Champion.

Yeah, for those who didn't watch the full show, it's worth mentioning in that clip that I posted that Ivelisse shoot broke her ankle in the match immediately preceding this one, so when she's hopping around one leg with that kendo stick, it's not just a selling job. Also, if you watch real closely, in that background of that Angelico spot at 6:20, you can see Vampiro (the color commentator) jump up from the announce desk, rip off his headphones, and go running away with his hands on his head. The spot was so hype, he couldn't deal with it, he had to run it off. StarkRavingMad fucked around with this message at 03:59 on Apr 26, 2015 |
