High on Fire is so dope. The power and control of Matt Pike's voice is just incredible. I can't wait for their next album

Of the two bands that came after Sleep, I always preferred Om to High on Fire.

Yeah me too although I'm sort of despairing of new Om ever coming out. They tour a lot though so I guess at least they're still active. Conference of the Birds is still my favourite thing they've done but I really liked the direction they were going on God is Good and Advaitic Songs too. Hope this isn't going to be like Sleep's eternally anticipated next album.

I was hoping they'd be doing the electronic parts live too, but no luck.

Hope this isn't going to be like Sleep's eternally anticipated next album. Sleep and Om are more similar than Sleep and HoF so there's got to be something with the creative process that slows down the writing. At this point I'd take a new Sleep LP over anything ever coming out from HoF again (sorry Matt Pike I still love you and will be writing you in for President this November)

Interesting article about how Adrienne Davies helped shape Earth's "new" sound. I didn't realise how much of an influence she'd had, had kinda assumed that Carlson directed the change and had just found a drummer to suit. http://daily.bandcamp.com/2016/09/15/adrienne-davies-interview/

I've found an excellent website devoted to out of print Wisconsin bands, including these guys: http://www.mkepunk.com/releases/metal/feck-the-feck/ Huge mostly-instrumental psychedelic metal with a mean streak. I've been looking for this album for years!
