one of the things about my local group is how smart and active the people in there are; i actually feel better after being around them, so my idea is to find ways to contribute. but i've got no clue about the big ideological questions other than that capitalism is driving us off a cliff.

destroying the dems in their current form is going to be necessary for a third party anyways, its just a matter of if we cannibalize their infrastructure or not (which seems silly not to do)

the national dnc is poo poo, but almost none of us will be in a position to interact with them directly. the real question is "can you work with your local party" which is up for local chapters to decide and plan their actions accordingly imo

refoundation is just for people who acknowledge that 1) the dems aren't our allies, they're situationally useful at best and should be treated as such and 2) electoral political gains will only help us if we can do major political work outside of the electoral process in order to organize communities in such a way that we have the power to influence our politicians once they're in office. Revolutionary means "understands the current system will is hostile to our efforts and will need to be fundamentally changed in order for our goals to succeed."

I'd believe It's a Wonderful Life is communist propaganda more if George wasn't just constantly eating poo poo for choosing his community over his own personal wants and needs for the entire film. Granted, the community saves him at the end, but it's from a problem that wouldn't have been a problem if George had let his uncle starve in the street the way capitalism dictates for people with mental illness instead of giving him a make work job at the building and loan. And of course Potter gets no comeuppance for being a greedy prick for the run time. It's socialist bonafides are mixed.
