That's NIN64, in the concept image. Also, where's sweets? There should be sweets in desert, right? But yeah, Jackass is an face of sanity. With explosives. And science.

YoRHa is weird, even compared to other androids. YoRHa uniforms are crazy stylish, whereas other androids are more concerned with stuff like 'camouflage' and 'not getting sand in my mouth'.

I can hear it pretty clearly and I had the sound turned pretty low. I guess 24 isn't that old after all! Anyways, welcome to Jackass.

The beeping is during this section of the cutscene and stops at the next jump cut. It pulses, and you'll know it if you hear it. Obviously YoRHa pods are just all childproofed to prevent pesky youths from misappropriating them all willy-nilly

It's strange. I hear it in the video, but I don't remember hearing it when I actually got to this part of the game. I also only hear it in the panning shot, and not when the camera goes back behind 2B.

Mors Rattus posted:What does that 5000-cost HUD: Sound Waves thing do? You get a tiny spectrogram in the upper-right of the screen which is mostly curious because of what it suggests based on its waveform: that your characters can hear the soundtrack too. It also responds to ambient noises and battle sounds.

Yeah, I don't care about that. There's two optional HUD elements that are 5000 G a pop. The sound one makes a soundwave icon in the top right corner of the HUD. It picks up in-game music so... it's pretty useless. I guess if you're completely deaf and don't feel like resorting to looking up where Pod Program upgrades are (you can still just visually ID them in the right spot.) There's also one for Fishing that will err... automatically notify you if you can fish somewhere. Spoilers: If you're in ankle deep liquid and stay still for one second, it'll tell you if you can fish so... They're both complete wastes of money and Chip slots.

Josuke Higashikata posted:(Kho-)dazat talked about it in the main Automata thread. They read/write Japanese and English so it's first hand from them. Zero was a lot more deadpan in the original Japanese. Not that she didn't get mad, but she comes off as notably angrier in the English. Like, some of the lines she would deliver really apathetically in the original dub are much more over-the-top ragey in the localization. I wouldn't go as far as saying it changed her entire character, though. It's also there to a degree in Automata with 2B and 9S, but less so. I think it's an attempt to get the English dialogue to sound snappier; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In the end, I think it's better than coming off as too direct/stilted (see Persona 5). dazat fucked around with this message at 04:01 on Apr 18, 2017 |

loving christ, all the love for android Jackass is making me feel like there's gonna be something really wrong involving her at some point. Like, the entire thing was planned by noted mastermind Yoko Taro so that when this LP and thread would pop up, people who'd played the game would swoon over her, so that the rest of us poor schmucks would figure something was wrong, but otherwise have no loving idea what exactly that is and so have no choice but to be paranoid about everything. This is the level of sheer distrust I'm at right now. This is what Yoko Taro does. The whole "let's put a sound that can't be heard by senile old farts in the game" thing is just a way to add even more confusion to the whole experience.
