I feel pretty good about the Astros chances to get home field. The Yankees still have a series against the Rays, who are fighting for a playoff spot, but the Astros have nothing but the Rangers, Angels and Mariners and basically a two game lead on the Yankees since they won the head to head series

But not gonna necessarily count on it just yet

ACTUALLY, it's just the Angels and Mariners. (7 games and 2 games, respectively.)

Every single year the Ivy League takes a break from fucking up the world through its various alumni to fuck up everyone's bracket instead.

one thing I've always enjoyed is how champagne bottle sizes are named in terms of kings from the Bible

that one looks to me like about a nebuchadnezzar, which you used to be able to pick up at Costco for around 1500 bucks (you can also see the comparatively tiny jeroboam bottles next to it)

the biggest bottles produced (other than some gimmicky huge ones) are twice that size, and are melchizedeks

Three 100 win seasons in a row:

Astros, 2017-19
Athletics, 1929-31
Braves, 1997-99
Cardinals, 1942-44
Orioles, 1969-71
Yankees, 2002-04

Three 100 loss seasons in a row:
Astros, 2011-13
Athletics, 1919-21
Blue Jays, 1977-79
Braves, 1922-24
Browns, 1910-12
Mets, 1962-65 (4!)
Phillies, 1938-42 (5!!)
Pirates, 1952-54
Red Sox, 1925-27
Royals, 2004-06
Senators, 1961-64 (4!)

So yeah, the Astros, Athletics, and Braves have all had three straight 100 win seasons and 100 win losses, but only the Astros did it all in the same decade, as expected.
