This is weird it says "Produced by FlyLife Beatz (@iAmFlyLife)" but I know for sure that the music for this track comes directly from some electronic album. I can't remember which one it is though, but its definitely not original (although it has been slightly changed and a rap beat's been put in).

I saw him gently caress a show up on the top of a Uniqlo truck in the middle of the street in Gansevoort Plaza back in March, had to help him down off the truck cuz he almost smashed his balls on a trailer hitch lol, he led a haphazard crowd chase up the street ala "running of the bulls". He paused, jukes a few times and cackled like a maniac before running off, nearly caused a loving riot.

Love Return but danny's verse just kinda pales in comparison to gibb's. Still, it's one of my fave songs from this year too.

Agreed although Danny's poo poo isn't bad by any means, it's just hard to out-gangster the Gibbs at any time haha.

I wouldn't say BODIED but A$AP came especially hard on Kush Koma, Gibbs does especially murder that verse, even for him...

Sheefy McFly(produced for Danny Brown, Boldy James) has an album release party tonight, I guess he's putting out a ghettotech album. Super cool, I've been hoping for a ghettotech revival.

Party's at Nathan's Deli on Jefferson

Hi NMD rap thread. Thanks for the informative thread so far! I'm trying to broaden my tastes a bit, being something of a musical philistine I never really gave too much thought to music other than 'this sounds nice' until recently, so it's been eye opening to start noticing musical influences everywhere. One of my favourite bands is Arcade Fire, and after reading about the hip hop influences they have used for their new album Reflektor I've been intrigued by rap, hip hop and their importance as a movement in music. Where would you recommend as a good starting point to learn more about the history of it, and who are some good current or new names to listen to,to get a feel for the current scene?

To the sun's savage brightness he exposed the dark and secret surface of his retinas, so that by burning the memory of vengeance might be preserved, and never perish.
Hello. Your earnest post might have you eaten alive.

But, if you want to dip your toes into rap, try A Tribe Called Quest's first two records. Then Madvillain's only full-length. Then try Company Flow's record. Then The GZA's Liquid Swords. Then Beastie Boy's Paul's Boutique. Then Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid M.A.A.D city.

This is my order of rap for you. None of it really sounds like the new Arcade Fire record, except they try to hit a groove and work off similar rhythms. A lot of those records are just as sparse as and low key as Reflektor, also.

This is awesome, thanks for the link..

These old G-Unit Radio volumes are too good, I used to have hundreds of songs from everyone in the G-Unit camp. Very sentimental poo poo

For Curreen$y I'd definitely check out Cigarette Boats, Verde Terrace, The Pilot Talks, Covert Coup. I also really like Weekend At Burnie's and Muscle Car Chronicles even though they have different feels than his other work.

The tracks I've heard from Hawaiian Snow, the tape he and Yayo did, were pretty good as well.

And I have around 633 tracks for Gucci, but he's the 2nd most listened to artist in my Last.fm charts behind Jeezy. Jeezy used to have a HUGE lead on everyone, but then I heard the truth aka Gucci Mane LaFlare.

Really digging on MM FOOD right now, Guinesses beat is so good to me. Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh, so smooth.

Also, just saw on Twitter that Danny Brown has some meal thing with Adidas right now and I realised that if Adidas did a sneaker collab with Danny that the money would be out of my pocket before I saw the shoe. It could look utter poo poo, like all the Jeremy Scott collab stuff, but I would still buy and rock 'em.
